Absolute dive. Always only one bar staff member on which is incredibly dangerous when it’s full to the brim with coked up idiots desperate for a fight. The place needs closing down.

Always a good atmosphere, having the jukebox makes it unique, the best choice for a late night drink on Burton road.

A bar with posters that would suggest it's a rock bar, however put any rock songs on the jukebox and the manager will instantly turn them off and give you attitude.

My whole experience at the drawing room was amazing. Simon at the bar was very kind the cocktails were amazing.

Good place drink, great thing there is a juke box, but heaven forbid you put anything on outside of the UK top 40. You'll get your song switched off.

Please get better bar tenders. HORRIBLE attitude from one girl you had who could not make cocktails to save her life. It’s a shame

I recently went in and had a great time I was served by a young man I’m not Sure about his name but he looked like the ex Liverpool goalkeeper karius he was so chatty and loved making my cocktails and explaining how he was making them one of the most enthusiastic bar staff around

Very rude staff. Asked for a cocktail (advertised on the chalkboard), and the bloke behind the bar essentially told me he couldn't be arsed. Ended up with 2 pints of flat beer which we couldn't finish. One to avoid.

Got refused by the bouncer in heavy rain this evening because my girlfriend was wearing a football shirt. I kindly asked if she could put my jumper on and take the football shirt off to which the bouncer refused to accept, extremely bluntly, and rudely then proceeded to turn his back on me. Apparently; you’re not allowed a football shirt on the premises even if it’s in your pocket… Absolutely ridiculous. Can fully understand the rule as an ex-restaurant manager, if (of course) it’s a group of lads in football shirts that may cause trouble or you have suspicion of, however, it was me and my girlfriend trying to end our evening with a cocktail and we offered to ensure the football shirt was hidden or removed to ensure that it couldn’t be seen, some managerial discretion may have saved the day here. This evening aside I would consider this venue a regular haunt for me, great drinks, service and atmosphere. But tonight’s experience has smeared my opinion slightly. Possibly a new bouncing firm?

I’m new to the area and popped in for a quick drink. As soon as I walked in the guys were so friendly and welcoming. Great wine, great music and amazing service. Absolutely recommend!

Only place that is open late which is a plus. However due to its size once in, you felt like a sardine in a tin. Practically no space to move around. Got a pint with mate and yes we went outside to drink it as inside would have been impossible to drink without getting barged by someone. I think 10 less people inside would have made the place bit more bearable or maybe some kind of agreement that if doorman sees that you're not going to create a rattle outside to allow few people to stand outside and drink in peace.

Lovely little place, really busy maybe a bit too busy for the size of it. Drinks were pricey, £8 for two shots.

Fun little place to go when everywhere else is shut

You’ve single handedly ruined my life not doing delivery, plz Didsbury bring it back 2 me. I ordered for 6 weeks in a row and I cannot cope anymore. Also I’d walk over but I’m in isolation, my taste has come back and all I want is to rub a chilli gambino in my face, please save me.

Ordered as a delivery through their site. Burgers are excellent but let down after ordering a cocktail and not receiving it, understandable as it seem the system didn't print it on the receipt (even though its on the online receipt).

Had a burger from their new food offering under 'Big Grillie Style' and it was pretty epic! A tad on the pricey side but the quality was worth it, big heavy portions and everything you'd expect from a premium burger joint. Meat was juicy and tender with plenty of wild topping options on the different hip-hop themed burger choices. The fries are also great and easily a sharer between two to go with your burgers.🍔🙌🏼

The drawing room is a very fun bar , very safe during this time. Great bar staff and the bouncer outside is one of the most helpful and kind bouncers in Manchester.

Have been going regularly for the last 10 years, love the place. Happy hours is great. Bar Staff have always been super friendly. Cocktails and beers are fantastic.

Hugely dissapointing. Was expecting this place to be an absolute s**t hole. Turns out little effort was made by the so.called staff to even attempt to reinforce my ill informed opinions.

Great little bar serving a nice selection of beers and spirits. Has a jukebox which gets the drunk people very lively at times! It is a small space so can feel quite cramped, but the people who go are friendly, as are the staff. It also opens later than most places around so good for a final nightcap!

A quiet place, or at least on a Saturday afternoon. Today the music didn't work at the beginning and they did not have drinks menu! This probably does not happen everyday but that is how it was

Popped in to here for a few pint early doors on Saturday and wish that we had stayed all night. It is very small, but this helps generate a fantastic atmosphere. The Juke box has a huge selection of songs which was a welcome bonus. If you're passing and fancy a drink, then you will do much worse than calling into The Drawing Room.

I was expecting to be able to draw, but they didn't have the facility to allow me to express my artistic skills. Instead they served liquid.

Loud, smells a little and pretty cramped. Not the worst, but not the best. Staff were friendly.

I go here for the jukebox but last night the bar lady kept skipping my songs and letting all her friends pick theirs. She seemed more drunk than most of the people in their too. Avoid at all costs. Really rude and ended up getting pushed out of the place when we complained. Very unprofessional. I won’t be going back.

Possibly the smallest bar that I’ve ever visited but the staff are so lovely that I am more than happy to keep my word and leave them this review. See you all again soon

Lively and crowded, offers great cocktails at good (for Didsbury) prices. Top tip: make sure you get in before the Met closes so you can get a seat; the drawing room is one of the later opening places

Very nice staff in this small cocktail bar. Staff are approachable and the music is unparalleled.

I'll echo what many others have said: it's small (which can make it difficult to get a table - go early and take advantage of the cheaper prices!), but it's intimate, the bar-staff know their stuff and the jukebox selection is disturbingly good (it's fairly loud and normally that'd be an issue for me, but for the fact that every selection seems to be another classic - perhaps the patrons just have unerringly good taste!)

If you want to buy a bottle of wine and want to DRINK don't go to this place

Very small bar along Burton road, that never the less mixes a superb old fashioned and clearly has knowledgeable bartenders, coupled with a decent selection of craft beer. Great in the early evening or with a small crowd, however can and does rapidly become packed out making it slightly, and only slightly, more uncomfortable.

The best bar on Burton road if you can manage to squeeze in on a Saturday night. The duke box is top drawer and makes the place. The bars small but there's always a good beer on and the staff are top!

Lively little bar in West Didsbury with an excellent duke box, that's filled with music right up my street. Friendly bar staff and the cocktails and mixers are always above par.

The drawing room is a tiny bar on Burton Rd. What it lacks in size it makes up in quality. It’s two for one cocktails before 21:00 and they have recently launched a new range of craft beer in bottle and cans. The staff here have always been friendly have a lot of passion for what they do, this shows in the final product as the cocktails I’ve had here have always been top quality. It’s a really small venue and can get really busy on the weekend, so you need to get in early if you plan on staying the night to get a table. However the intimate nature of the place adds to the atmosphere and it’s always a very good night, backed up with an awesome Jukebox selection that has many Manchester classics. My only complaint would be there is no craft beer on draft and a small selection available in can and bottle. However, they have only just started to dip their tow into the emerging craft beer scene so hopefully the range will expand over time. Overall this small, intimate venue is an excellent choice if you’re looking for great cocktails or craft beer on Burton Rd.

Tiny little bar tucked away in Disbury, has a nice relaxed atmosphere and does some tasty cocktails. This place can get quite busy on weekends, so prefer for a squeeze!

Has a very chilled intimate vibe with soft lighting and a great selection of music on the Jukebox (a lot of classic tunes available). As space is limited you'll need to get in early for a seat but well worth it for the atmosphere.

A tiny bar on Burton Road with a good range of cocktails and an even better jukebox – they often have DJ’s playing on a Thursday evening which in the past have included the likes of The Smiths drummer Mike Joyce. You’re lucky to get a seat inside but when the weathers warmer they have some outdoor seating too – such a great spot for people watching.
