Food was really nice as it always is.

Great party atmosphere and live music. Quite rowdy on racing weekend

Went with a friend for a quiet mid week drink and catch up, the only reason we went to the Dolphin was because there was nowhere to sit in the Nogg so we decided to try the Dolphin. We were hassled unnecessarily by a young bloke the second we stepped inside the door and despite being sat away from everyone one else two more blokes made inappropriate comment to us in the time we were there. Will not be visiting again.

Booked function room with food which was all very good, very accommodating staff.

Shockingly bad. Avoid at all costs. Bone idle and rude staff. Seriously overpriced. The locals avoid it like the plague. I have had warmer welcomes from my ex girlfriends mother. Dirty. Try over the road,

Good location, rooms ok, good nice. Car park bit tight getting in and out through the traditional coaching entrance.

After not going out for various reasons over the past few months a walk across the road to The Dolphin for Sunday lunch was a real treat. The food was delicious and plentiful and it was served up, piping hot, by lovely people. Isobel and I dined in their ‘family room’ and that was a delight. All too often restaurants don’t cater for families as such. Here small children had a play area and us others enjoyed comfortable seating and the hospitality of the Dolphin team. What a joy and one we’ll repeat ere long.

Me and my partner spent a midweek night here on the way to Cornwall. This was a very convenient location, not too far from the A303. The hotel is a nice old building but the rooms were contemporary. We received a warm welcome at reception. We had a decent size comfortable room, the bed was comfortable. A decent amount of toiletries, good fluffy towels and a good selection of teas, coffees, etc. The Wednesday Steak meal deal was fab value 2 steaks and a bottle of wine - the food was delicious and decent size portion. There may not be a lot of dining options in the area unless you drive and based on what we saw I would recommend this place if you are in the area / need a stop off. We had a few drinks in the bar and again found staff to be friendly and efficient. Decent size cooked breakfast too. A very nice stay and good value for money. The staff are very accommodating and helpful.

We recently attended a wake here, of a much loved family member and the food spread supplied by the hotel was excellent and a nice sunny courtyard area to sit outside! Also a nice bar area and good selection of beer 🍺

Had a meal there whilst staying elsewhere in the area. Nice ambiance, good food at reasonable cost, presented well. Friendly place. Discovered Thatchers spiced apple cider, absolutely delicious!!

Room clean but that’s it. Was Really noisy at night, couldn’t sleep. Between extractor fan going outside all night long and late night drinkers. Bed was awful hard. No extra pillows. Just two very flat ones. Couldn’t find anybody to order breakfast , then lady eventually turned up. Very disappointed.

Great steak with all the trimmings and a pimt only £15 on steak night!! Room was spoltless, warm and cosy

My first time in Wincanton, the staff at the Dolphin is really extremely friendly and very professional....they makes you feel like you are at home....lovely atmosphere and amazing music....5 stars place

Perfect pub for a few pints, the staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.
