The Dockyard in Salford

This was a decent place for a drink in the Quays. Good selection of food and huge selection of beers. I had the waffle fries and Korean short rib beef which was very tasty. Also good for celeb spotting as it's close to the BBC building. I got a photo with Steve Lamacq of BBC Radio 6 fame

Didn't grab any food this time although good selection of ales and beers etc. A couple of local craft ales too which were tasty. Well worth a visit if you're nearby and food looked great. Will certainly be back.

Visited over Patrick’s weekend and really enjoyed liked the relaxed atmosphere. The place had plenty of screens showing the football, which was a nice. They also have Thief Street in the kitchen, the food was fantastic, great portion sizes and tasted delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. Drinks are on the pricey side, with a pint of Guinness costing £6.70, but since we’re not big drinkers, we just had one drink each so it didn't affect us too much

The current thief kitchen menu is astounding. An Asian take on western junk food favourites, such as a salt and pepper chicken burger with southern style gravy. Every time I've been to Dockyard I've had such a good time and the staff are sound. Beers can be pricey but the dockyard lager is £4.95 and is a decent drink. I love this place, also it's dog friendly.

Dreadful. Their listing states they service craft ale and pies. They don’t. It was fake

I have been in the Dockyard a couple of times with my sister because its not far from where she lives. It's a bar, quite basic inside and is quite big. The staff are nice and the drinks are reasonably priced. I can't comment on food because I have never eaten here. I can't really say about the atmosphere because its not been packed thankfully 😅 I would definitely go in again.

Best place for a pint at mediacity,top variety of beers on offer...new street food chicken boxes are amazing as well. Bonus dog friendly with water bowls and treats at the bar.

Friendly and attentive staff. Menu a bit limited but food was ok. Surprised the football wasn't on the screens and US Election reaction was. Bizarre for an English bar.

Terrible food! Sloppy Joe burger tasted like reheated stale oversalted (and overpriced!!) meal served on a plastic tray. Would not recommend at all.

We only came in for a soft drink to refresh from a recent gig. The service was excellent, the place was clean and tidy even for that time of night.

Busy as anything in here today, served politely and with genuinely friendly attitudes by all staff - what a credit these guys are. Good on them all! Worked in hospitality in my younger years and know the graft and patience it takes. All glasses and empty plates cleared within minutes, quick and friendly service and clean areas to sit. Brilliant place!!!

Great atmosphere, a proper English pub, hard to find these days.

The Dock Yard is located in Media City, Salford, which is located right next to the Manchester and short tram journey away from the city centre. Media City is one of my favourite locations, and a great place for new comers or tourists to visit. It hosts the major UK TV companies, and has a very modern feel to the buildings, yet overlooks the historic Manchester ship water canal and its various outlets. The actual Dockyard is modern style bar, which exuberates a open yet warmly feel. The bar staff have always been friendly and helpful even on busy occasions. Food is the standard Pub grub with numerous options, satisfies varying dietary requirements. Although the culinary is nothing 'special' , it is what you would expect from this type of establishment although maybe a little over priced. The Alcoholic content is more vast however, and you can even pick up a 'cheaper' pint of their named ales. Entertainment wise, the venue hosts various events from time to time including a regular open mic night. I would defiantly recommend a visiting, and if you are lucky, you may catch the eye of the odd celebrity.

I live local, and used to go regular, 2 times a week.. Somehow the place has lost its appeal. Placed tables everywhere there was seating booths, and seem to be aiming for the restaurant theme, not the bar. Food very expensive, and also now £6.50 average for a pint.. Ridiculous!, pity really, as i wont be returning..

Called in for the first time for a couple of drinks. Nice, airy place, plenty of tables and seemed a good atmosphere. Beer no more expensive than anywhere else. Service was lacking, the second bartender especially. Not exactly welcoming or friendly and no thank you either. Probably would have given a five star but for that.

Wanted something to eat after a great day in the IWM North. Thought it would be expensive as in a very trendy area but very reasonable. Good food and service quick although it was quiet when we visited. I have paid more for fish and chips in my local pub and my girlfriends chicken goujons were a good portion and also a good price. Soft drinks were slightly expensive and alcoholic drinks about 20% more than I am used to paying. Go here for food, and if you want more than a few drinks go elsewhere. If we are in the area again we will def eat here.

My favourite bar on the Quays, great down to earth bar with good food, even better drink with a great choice of Lagers, ales and wines, outside seating to watch the world go by, Love this place ❤️

Good night. Quiet, nice crowd. Good spot for a quiet Saturday night out.

Recent change in the layout has provided more much needed seating. Although the chairs are a bit hard and maybe need replacing with softer seats. The food is your general pub grub and is always cooked to a high standard. The service is excellent, but the prices for the drinks is too high.

Just went for a pint before going to get food. Wide selection of beers and ales to choose from and a good place to go before and after united games.. only negative is the price of beers, very expensive upwards of 6, 7 quid but good place to go overall..

Didn't eat. Beer very nice. Occasionally hard to get bar staff attention as they were having a nice chat.

Just had a Sunday roast and the meal was fabulous -the staff were lovely also.

Delightful place food and service excellent. Real chips and very reasonable prices.

We've visited here a few times now and its always been a great place .... not the cheapest place but you have the expensive rentals on these boozers. Great service here though .. no complaints... tried to take a few pics whilst it was quiet.

This is a great place to come in the day or evening for a drink and some food. There is always a good selection of beers at the bar and some really great food available. It does get busy in the evenings however so come early if you’re after a meal. The decor is pretty cool, wooden beams and girders to reflect a dockyard feel. There are booths with rustic tables and sofas as well as low tables and benches outside which are great in the summer. If you get a window seat you’ll have a nice view of the Blue Peter garden, Imperial War Museum and the plaza outside the BBC. If you’re in Media City this a great place to visit. Thanks for reading

On a wander around Media City found this fabulous place. Great ales, fab food.

Nice pub with cool atmosphere. Food was average, I don’t recommend fish and chips as it tasted oily but the other dishes were ok. There was no service at the table and it was inconvenient to always go to bar to order.

We visited the Dockyard whilst up in Manchester for a football match. Its a really nice pub situated right by the BBC studios in media city, there was a good mixture of home and away fans that made for a pleasant atmosphere. The doorstaff were all very friendly as were the bar staff. A great selection on tap and getting served wasn't too much of a chore as they had plenty of staff behind the bar.

Red headed lady (accompanied by red headed beanie hat) needs to go on a customer services course. Don’t expect a please, or thank you or any words at all actually even if you are courteous. Pricing is also stupid. No wonder it was near empty on a Friday.

£6.55 for a pint of Staropramen, which is eye-watering. Service, not great: Staff busy chatting. It’s not the best place to drink in this area. Redeeming feature is the amount of choice and the good amount of seating, including outdoors.

Giving it 5 🌟 we visited on a Friday night while staying in Manchester, this is a cracking place, great atmosphere, great beers, friendly staff, clean toilets and tables. They sold my favourite beer too. Keep up the good work.

Tater tots weren’t cooked. Solid in the middle (could’ve still been frozen lol). Sent it back and went for chips instead which staff sorted out very quickly for us. Good beers and nice seating out front. Portions very small on the chips served with burgers.

As always a great time at the Dockyard. Excellent and friendly service, and great food.

Friendly, dockside bar serving food and drink to a lively and fun crowd. Really good atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff. Enjoyed my visit and will return.
