Great pub, staff are polite and helpful.

1st time visit with my daughter who has just moved to Hasland, good beer, good service clean and tidy will definatly visit again.

Great friendly pub with plenty of drinks on offer behind the bar. Cozy and comfortable atmosphere, accessible toilets, highly reccommend!

I often come here for a quick pit stop on Mondays. Great little pub with a friendly atmosphere.

Don't go to this pub unless you have been in all night. We went tonight after an evening at the hasland club to catch last orders.when we arrived, hubby went in to order drinks, a local outside said you won't get served unless you have been in all night and the landlord was stood in the doorway having a cig.the landlord reiterated the same but I thought, hubby inside, so see if he gets served. He was told no! We ordered a taxi which was 20 mins so we were stood outside waiting. In that time, we saw several people getting served drinks, including someone who pulled up in a taxi 5 mins before our taxi arrived. As a couple who go out regularly drinking, we will not attempt this pub again and will give our feedback to everyone we know. Unless you have been in this pub all night, you are not welcome even if they are still serving, or they are obviously so well known they can just turn up and get served! There is a well know mantra in any retail, you get one chance to lose a customer. The landlord in this establishment enthusiastically grabbed this with both hands.

Very good, on Mondays buy 2 pints get one half price. Got the cricket on, too. What's not to like?

Good place for family and friends

Travelled from Leicester for family christening. Received a warm friendly welcome. Pleasantly surprised by bar prices. Would recommend visit to pub and use of their function room. If we're in the area again will definitely make a return visit

Came here as a guest of a wedding party. From arrival of our party, staff was inconsiderate and their manners were atrocious. Was told food wasn’t available even though there was signs stating you could order food. We was there majority of the afternoon, later on when ordering more drinks the staff asked if we had just arrived (trying to refuse service as was crowded). We was told to limit the amount of people at the table, we complied and moved half the guests to another table. However there was a group of local lads that seemed to be exempt to the rules from management. Our experience of this put went from bad to worse. We won’t be returning, nor recommending to anybody.

Great food so we decided to return, was told food is severed at 2:30, cool not a problem, we've grabbed a drink and waited and hour. Go to bar to get menu then told "oh yeah the chef hasn't come in... not best pleased as we could have being told before as there's about 5 people in here. So now were off to find somewhere... not impressed

The owners are fantastic, I was really mesmerised by this pub. The deco and setting well done. The bar staff are polite and very attentive. I will definitely be back. The food is absolutely amazing, not to mention the music. Great vibes and surrounding. 5 stars all around! P.S bathrooms are also lovely and well kept 😉

Had my 50th birthday last night and it was amazing. My guests had an amazing time, i couldn't have picked a better venue for my party but what made it was nicky and the staff. Was blown away at how supportive, friendly they were, nothing was too much trouble. The room looked fantastic. Cant thank you enough for making my birthday so relaxed and special xxx

After booking what we thought would be a romantic valentines meal for two at this place ,we were disappointed when on arrival we found we were the only booking . We were given a choice of the restaurant ( a separate room ) or to sit in the bar , where a musical turn would perform later. Taking a look in the restaurant only one table had a cover on it , and was bare apart from that ( not very romantic in any way) so we decided on the bar area, where we were given a choice of where to sit. ( At least they had put up a few balloons ) We took our seat and were given a complementary glass of sparkling pink fizz, and given our cutlery. A few minutes later the entertainment arrived. ( a singing guitarist ) We were approached and Told we would have to move as the turn wanted to set up where we where sitting. We moved to another area of the bar. Unfortunately an area with TV,s showing football, and speakers playing music at the same time, being the only available seating. A few minutes later the speakers were turned up even louder. We thought they would be turned off when the entertainment started . The first course arrived and we asked for the far too loud music be turned down a little, which they did. The entertainment started, but the speakers were turned over to football commentary, so we couldn't hear the singer properly. At this point we decided to eat up and give it up ad a disastrous valentines meal. The next course of the meal arrived and was very tasty, as was the first course, but it was not very hot. We persevered not wanting to complain. ( any colder we would have ) we finished off with the final course which again was tasty, but the brownie part of my partners was burnt and tasted as much so was left. My desert was very nice . On reflection the food was good but needed a little more care and attention, the overall experience I hope I never have repeated. We will not be back until things change. Maybe just for a drink to keep an eye on things to see if they improve. PS. Five hours after writing this review, during the night, my partner was taken I'll with Stomach pains and D & V. Coincidence ?. Further to the recent post, my partner was really I'll for three days, including a work day loosing a days pay. Not happy.

I've lived across the road from this pub for nearly 2 years but been in for the first time today. Had the best burger 🍔 with cheese and wonderful bacon. The staff are fabulous and so helpful. Already arranged to go for a family night out to celebrate birthdays and honestly can't wait

We had a surprise party for our 25th wedding anniversary hosted by my daughter and son. Cosy function room disco excellent and buffet lovely.

May 4th 2018 was our wedding day and we looked around at local venues to hold our reception. We could not have found a better location. The Manager and Function room Organiser Nicky went through everything with us so we knew everything to expect. The function room was free to book with the Devonshire arranging the buffet reception & a brilliant disco with very knowledgeable DJ. Nicky dressed the room perfect and everyone commented on how beautiful it all looked. We bought along our own postbox for our guests to leave thier cards and good wishes and I've left the details with Nicky if anyone would like to hire it. Nicky and her team deserve these 🌠🌠🌠🌠🌠

Hired out the function room with the buffet. The staff are amazing and helped us sort the night perfectly. The room looked fab and the bar was great with an amazing selection of very well priced drinks

Went to the Devonshire last Sunday to try Sunday lunch with my family after seeing it advertised online thought I would give it a try. The meal was excellent and served within 15 minutes of arriving although the pub was busy I expected to wait but that wasn't the case. The staff were very polite and greeted us with a smile and warm welcome. Got chatting to one of the regulars and he told me a new landlady called Nicola had taken over a view weeks ago and she was doing a fantastic job of turning the pub around. Would not hesitate to fully recommend the pub and the food on my excellent experience and enjoyable meal. Thanks Jack
