Found this place by chance and what a find. I'm not vegetarian but tried the butter nut squash curry and rice and walked to the river to eat it. All packaging (including knifes and forks) bio-degradable. The curry would have given my local curry house a good run for the money and not one bit of plastic in site. Outstanding value for money and a lovely view over the river. In none Covid times we would have gone to the pub but this was one of the few gains from this outbreak, a great curry overlooking the river. Only regret was I didn't buy one of those brownies.

Feeling peckish after a walk we called in to be greeted by two friendly and helpful staff ( one turned out to be the owner ) who helped us make a great choice of food for our lunch. We bought homemade cheese pie that was wonderful. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem when next in Kirkby Lonsdale. You won’t be disappointed

Hungry after a long walk, I found the Deli in Kirby Lonsdale and discovered a real gem! My courgette and fennel quiche was succulent and tasty with crisp, light pastry, accompanied by two wonderfully fresh and healthy salads. I chose the spiced chick peas and, after a suggestion from the proprietor, a feta, rocket and apple salad with a damson dressing. And the cost of all this deliciousness? A mere £4! I enjoyed every mouthful and was sorry to see the bottom of the box- so wonderfully not plastic! I shall most definitely be returning.

Nipped in to get a quick sandwich for lunch. Very friendly service and the food was good too. Whilst waiting I was looking at the other homemade food and it all looked great!

I have been working in the area and have visited this deli every lunch time. The ladies are lovely and friendly despite me not being a regular customer (new face). Don’t often leave reviews but this place was really LOVELY and yummy.

Great choice of food. The lamb hot pot and the braised steak were homemade and so delicious. Everthing on offer looked tempting and very reasonably priced. I also reccomend the hot pork pies and the brownies. The staff were really friendly.

This cafe has just won Best Cafe in England Award..........whilst this is a lovely cafe and adjoining shop the menu is definitely lacking. For people with dairy or egg intolerances or requiring vegan diets there is nothing . We mentioned about dairy/egg allergies and asked if they had anything vegan. Was told nothing on the menu but they could "veganise" anything on the menu. Great we thought...... we opted for a vegetarian sausage bap which we were told was actually vegan..... after about 10 minutes we were told they didn't have any; but they could rustle up a delicious vegan breakfast instead. Excellent we thought....... after about 20 minutes the food arrived with dry toast, (no dairyfree spread), a few undercooked mushrooms and tomato, a small pot of beans and a couple of handmade potato cakes which were nice ..... all topped off with a fried egg!!!! They clearly do not understand that dairy and eggs can be very dangerous for people with allergies. Lovely cafe if you can eat anything otherwise don't bother
