We went to the deli for a baby shower for the afternoon tea. The food selection was beautiful and they catered for our specific needs. The presentation was fantastic and they explained all of the foods to us so that we knew what was there. They went above and beyond to decorate the table for the baby shower. The ginger flavoured scones were delicious! The staff was absolutely brilliant and so friendly. Fantastic value for money. Keep up the good work! Will definitely be back.

walking the cleveland way, we expected to have to just settle for an average cup of tea and poor sandwich when we arrived in Skelton - what a suprise to find the deli. corned beef pie, delicious cake, tasty cheese scone, great tea and coffee. staff were friendly and helpful (especially considering the sizes of our rucksacks) and we had a great time relaxing. extensive menu so probably something for everyone.

My husband & I are glamping in Skinningrove and were googling somewhere for a light lunch when this came up. We were looking for somewhere where we could get some salad & veg after afew days away eating junk! We had a lovely welcome, they do everything from cooked meals to sandwiches & salads. All food was nicely prepared & good quality produce. They also sell farm shop type food & drink gifts/hampers. What a lovely place, just what we needed

Quite simply THE BEST Afternoon Tea I have ever had! Everything about our visit was superb from the lovely, friendly and attentive staff to the the amazing food. Excellent value for money and if I’m totally honest I think they should charge more as I don’t know how they make any profit from the amount of truly delicious food and drink you get. I cannot recommend this highly enough and I cannot wait to come back again, thank you so much.

If you find a cafe you enjoy then without doubt you return again and again , this is my wife and myself favorite , we go at least once a week and also enjoy there week end specials whiich are made to order for 2 to 4 people. We used there xmas order form and again food was lovely and there sweets are really special and tasty. They sell all you would expect of a deli but then add daily specials and with myself loving seafood they do a pasta with a wonderful tasting crab in a lobster sauce. All food is home made including bread and choice of breakfast items you wish rather than a set breakfast is worth a try.....local produce is used and can highly recommend a visit. Think i have sold it well so please give it a try if visiting our lovely part of country or just a local who fancys a change , you will not be disappointed. Service is done at your table and owners and girls and boys who serve are very courtesy and also sometimes even enjoy my company.....ha ha.

I initially came here today for coffee and cake. However after been greeted by lovely staff and shown the menu and specials board, I decided to have a light snack. The place itself is very clean and today, the staff where all very friendly and polite and their is extensive choice to eat and drink. As the jacket potatoes are not zapped and killed in a microwave I opted for a ham and cheese. This came with homemade delicious creamy coleslaw and salad on the side. The best jacket potatoes I have had in a while. This was washed down with a hot chocolate, equally delicious. I then had my cake with cream, which tasted really good too. I cant beleive I haven't been to this place sooner, I sat in the window with good food, company and watched Skelton go by. I will be returning and think others should too! You wont be disappointed.

We visited here with their local MP Simon Clarke on Saturday. It was a really hot day, however nice and cool in the deli. My husband and I had the pate with home made granary toast and salad. A large dish of delicious pate with very fresh salad. The service was excellent and joy of joys the Deli part was just that they even sold Bothams biscuits. I finished off with a lovely filter coffee and they even had skimmed milk. Skelton is very lucky to have such a star and i would really recommend it.

Deli at 85 has been operating for only about three years but the proprietor, Jill, has extensive experience in catering having worked in this field for around thirty years. We were customers of hers in one of her previous venues and were hugely pleased when we found where she is now! The food here is home cooked; you can see the work going on in the kitchen area and smell the wonderful aromas as the products are prepared. Come here for freshly baked bread, scones and cakes, to take away or eat on the well fitted café area, you won't be disappointed. Great attention has been paid to the fitting out and incorporates some lovely features; it is the only place I visit that has burr-oak table tops in the café area! The staff are well trained and attentive and the whole experience is up lifting ; we visited on grey January day so we can justify the comment!

Had a lunch here recently.A very unassuming building from the outside, once inside, the aroma of gorgeous food and drink entices you to take a seat immediately!Greeted by a lovely friendly waitress, we chose a window table seat, and watched as the world rushed by, while we took our time, savoring every last mouthful. The menu is good; wide enough to provide something for every taste and appetite, but not so large as to distract from the quality of the food on offer. The food service, is not quick, which is great, no feeling of pressure to eat and leave here, and also, proving that the food is all fresh and cooked strictly to order.Everything we were served here was top notch, even the side order of coleslaw for me, and the home made sauce for my husband.I would thoroughly recommend this little place, though, as I said, not if you are in a hurry. Good food should never be rushed. Take your time and have a lovely treat!

Wow, what a delight to find this wonderful establishment! We don't live very far away but had no idea that such gastronomic delights awaited on Skelton High Street. Now we do it will be hard to stay away, even though it is not somewhere we are accustomed to visiting. We both had focaccia bread toasted: my husband with jarlsberg cheese, olives and sun-dried tomatoes, me with tuna and sweet corn. Excellent! The salad was nicely dressed, the flavours delicious and the bread lovely and crispy. Sadly, we had no room for cake but the coffee was excellent: full bodied but very mellow and my husband had the best (dark) hot chocolate he has ever had since the one he still raves about that he enjoyed in St-Malo in Brittany. We bought quiche to take home - the pastry was crisp and the flavours burst forth on every bite. Delicious! We are looking forward to our return visit.

It's amazing: cheeses, olives and salamis, rocket, sundried tomatoes, fluffy smoked salmon pate, home-made rhubarb and ginger chutney and fresh bread are amongst the selection of goodies (beautifully presented). To follow we had home-made treacle tarts with cream and ice cream and really good fresh coffee. It's a light and airy cafe - nice and busy but not to the point of being cheek-by-jowl. Excellent little upmarket cafe in every way - from the varied list of fresh, daily specials (get a welsh rarebit with home-made chutney if it's on that day! Optional bacon, too) to the delicious cakes, scones and pastries and coffee. All freshly made with locally-sourced ingredients selected for quality and taste. And a lovely place to sit, with quirky silver-birch trunk legs on the window counter, and a clean, bright, fresh interior with open views to the kitchen. You have to visit again and again to taste everything - because it's all a taste sensation! A friend called the sausage sandwich 'the best I've ever had in my life' - which seemed like an exaggeration till we tasted it! And it's true. A thick sausage patty made of Burton's Bangers' Cleveland sausagemeat, on fresh, homemade bread. It really is mouthwateringly good. AND you can buy the sausages to take home. Bacon is delicious, too - no fat whatsoever. And only £3.50 for 'the best in your life'!Jill used to own Virgo's in Saltburn, and we missed her when she left for a few years, but now she's back, this is our go-to place. Well worth a drive! Parking available in car parks just around the corner or on the high street. There's a choice of around 5 ever-changing daily specials - soups, pates, savoury tarts and more substantial meals. With great choices for lunch, breakfast or afternoon tea. As well as coffees, etc, you can also have rhubarb presse and other delicious drinks.Other sandwiches (priced from £4-£4.75) come with a choice of freshly baked breads, and a salad garnish with delicious dressing. Even for a cheese and chutney sandwich, there was a choice of four cheeses (including one with nettles!) and Jill's homemade tomato chutney.Better still you can browse the deli wares and take home some treats, from the freshly baked breads, scones, tartlets, cakes etc, or the pies and cheeses, sausage and bacon - to the interesting titibits - raspberry marshmallows, flavoured popcorn, interesting crisps, crackers and jars/packets of gourmet goods.

The Deli at No 85 doesn't have a menu just ever changing specials boards. I've yet to see a daily board there which didn't make we want choose everything. Then there is the added stress of choosing from the bakery for something to take home for tea. If you are stuck the plentiful, friendly and ever helpful staff will always advise. As you can tell I am a great fan of this relatively new venture. What find.
