Absolutely amazing fish and chips. Be warned, the fish portions are huge, so unless you eat a lot and are hungry, the medium fish is more than adequate. Even the lite bites are a decent portion. The chips are chunky and filling

I was a bit apprehensive due to previous takeaways while on holidays but I have to say this was 5 stars, the 1/4 cheese burger I had was very fresh and well cooked, not deep fried to a crisp like other places. And the Cumberland sausages well very tasty.

When it comes to food quality and taste, this is the best fish and chip shop in the area. In my subjective opinion.

Me and my Dad got a well done fish and chips about a month ago after coming home from Carlisle hospital. The food was great. The chip's were good and the fish was huge, I should have specified the size as it was far too big for us both but luckily my partner ate the rest of mine. Definitely a decent chippy. Shame I'm not local as it beat's everything we have to offer where we live.

Best chippy in Carlisle area, we certainly love them! Get a phone order in on busy nights, Friday/Saturday or expect a wait (only a little wait ~15-20mins)

The Dalston Fryer in my opinion is the best Fish and Chip shop in the Country. Not only are their fish and chips gorgeous, their pizzas are better than anything I've ever had in New York City. Tyr anything on the menu at The Dalston Fryer and you will not be disappointed.

An absolute Value for money.. U get a very impressive length of a regular cod fillet that is nearly impossible to finish at a go for one person (11 pounds for a regular fish n chips)..the Scampi (10 pieces for approx 7 pounds) tasted fine. There are even decent options for kids meals ( roughly 8 pounds for 4 large chunks of fish along with chips, juice and a lollipop). Sitting in the pretty set up of Dalston town this place is a quick stop by to take away some quality fish n chips. Gonna try the onion n cheese patties (huge version n i mean really huge version, of an indian pakora) next time.

Plenty of choice ..with the exception of the children's fish meal what we thought was fish bite was in fact small fishcake thing..was cod (or seem to be) but fish bite would of been better...

Two pounds fifty for a greasy soggy portion of chips overpriced rubbish wont be back.This is the tiny box they came in could fit easily through a letterbox.

Amazing place, very clean and the staff are so helpful, the prices seem slightly high but when you see what you get you will not be disapointed, we got fish and chips and fish was huge, I would recommend a visit. They do a big variety of food, and you don't wait to long. This was our first visit, and we will be going back soon.

Lovely big fish, but the chips can be hit and miss. Unfortunately the eye-watering price has now forced me to go elsewhere.

Always a ŕeliably great meal whatever we choose. Very busy and despite at least 7 staff behind the counter a very long wait even if you order in advance.

The food was absolutely lovely, no grease on anything, not even the scraps. Really lovely staff. Nice to know they use all local produce. Large portions... We had large battered sausage, chips and peas. Scampi and chips. Scraps and some tartare sauce at it was around £17 so not cheap but definitely worth it.

Awful place. Rude staff. Half 8 on a Saturday night and refused to serve chips, from a chip shop, "because I don't want to fry again". Well I don't want to come here again either.

Good chippy. Large portion of chips. Beefburger was the usual. The wife had a potato and mince something which was 99% potato so that's the reason for not 5 stars

Hi, we called today, lovely friendly staff, but very disappointed with fish & chips, fish didn't taste like cod, chips overcooked ends and black. Rather over priced for light bite & pensioner, sorry but very disappointed.

This is an excellent chip shop. We had fish and chips today which could not be faulted, the fish was huge and freshly fried and the chips were properly cooked and not all stuck together. Staff were courteous and helpful and provided us with two full size plastic forks, not wooden tooth picks. We will be back!

Called at lunchtime today. Best chippy I've been in for a lot of years and I've been in a lot lol. Cumberland sausage and chips were gorgeous. Lovely and fresh and plenty of them. Staff were lovely too.
