Our stay at the Cumberland was an absolute nightmare. The level of service and cleanliness was abysmal, far below the standards expected of a 5-star establishment. From the moment I arrived, the service was poor. The concierge refused to assist with my luggage, and was rude about it, and when I informed the receptionist about what happened, their only reply was OH REALLY SORRY ABOUT THAT. Despite being booked the room months in advance, it was noisy, directly Infront of the elevator, view directly on other building bedroom, unclean, and lacked basic amenities like toiletries. Repeated requests for housekeeping and toiletries were ignored till the day we checked out. I was appalled by the towels provided as they were worn-out and very very old. Plus, I had to inform the front desk every day to inform housekeeping to clean the room before 3PM or I would be stuck with a dirty room till 6PM. The hotel's lack of flexibility regarding late checkout was also disappointing. Despite my early request, they insisted on a strict 12 PM checkout or a hefty fee, which I was willing also to pay the 30 £ per hour rate. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

I was doing the check in with Georgiana at the Front office and serve by Laura at the restaurant during breakfast. Both are incredible staffs, their awareness to guest are beyond expectation. Especially Laura, she still remember me. Awesome, Thats why I always coming back to this lovely hotel. Thank you.

The initial impression was excellent in terms of the location, size of the rooms, and the cleanliness of the room. It was only disturbed by the fact that the room was not cleaned on the second day. When I complained to the receptionist, I think his name was Saqr, he raised his voice and blamed me because I was setting Do Not Disturb at nine o’clock and said that you should never put it down 😂. I asked for the manager and she came. A respectable lady said, Okay, I am responsible. Every day, inform me that you are out and I will send you a message. After that, I filmed that I was paralyzed. Do not disturb me daily. Note 1: Do not deal with men in the reception, treat them very badly. Only one of them is dark brown and halal, and try to deal with women only. Note 2 The lobby is very, very noisy

We stayed at The Cumberland for 5 nights and it was wonderful. The people who work there are so accomodating, security is excellent and the buffet breakfast was delicious. We had a problem with the shower and they immediately fixed the problem. The hotel is in an excellent location as well.

The mistreatment of the employees cancels out any other praise about the location, proximity, etc. The style is unprofessional, provocative, and they cooperate with each other on you. The important thing is that they gathered around me and raised my blood pressure even though I spoke to them calmly and did not raise my voice at all.. Of course the reason for the problem is that every now and then they try to log in people before me and I am coming early, but unfortunately I respected the Indian’s word when he said, “Sit down and I will give you updates,” and I sat down and the world intervened. You came in while I was sitting and the previous one was going on like this and I spoke to them and they attacked the two of them. They said it was only 3 o’clock. The location is great. Rooms are quiet, and the security is good. however the rooms are not well kept and it needs to be more hygienic (no plastic bags in the trash cans). Dust is everywhere. Service is extremely bad. The housekeeper turns off the AC every time she cleans the room, so when you get back, you find the room smells extremely bad. The soap bottle is not refilled although it has been empty for 2 consecutive days. You don’t feel that the staff care about customer satisfaction, when you communicate an issue, they never apologize or show understanding. For the price you pay, you will feel ripped off. This place is absolutely not worth the money.

I stayed at the Cumberland Hotel in London. The room was unclean, old, and small. The drain was blocked, and at night, waste from the toilet backed up into the bathtub. Initially, they refused to change my room, but after I threatened legal action, they finally moved me to a different room. However, it was not in the same category as the original room. I accepted it because it was late, around midnight.I will proceed with legal action against them. I have all the evidence, including photos and videos.Avoid this hotel.

My first and last experience with The Cumberland Hotel, unfortunately, and not just the reception staff, even those responsible for them. This happened to me. The first time I came to receive the rooms, they made me wait and did not pay for receiving two rooms, “meaning the rooms are ready,” and they did not help us while we were present. I traveled for 7 hours with a child, and the rooms were not delivered until approximately 2 o’clock. I had a request to change a room overlooking Hyde Park, and I was in contact with all the reception staff over the course of a week until yesterday. The receptionist was Indiana, an Indian, and she was the one who upon our arrival informed me of paying the amount for the upgrade to a room, knowing that I would inform her of the desired destination. Unfortunately, I was surprised this morning that a reservation had been made for a room for the other side. Another!!! This is what happened to me at this hotel. Also, the receptionist and team manager / Manzer from Bangladesh does not want to work. Every time I ask him a question, he says, “I did not understand,” and he makes me lose my calm and calmness. Unfortunately, he is a Muslim!!!! Just the employee/Serena who solved some things The employee/Karim from Egypt was cooperative Unfortunately, the hotel has a reputation for being unhelpful Likewise, the employee at the reception and the team manager, Manzer, is from Bangladesh. He does not want to work. Whenever I ask him a question, he says I do not understand. He takes me out of my phase even though I am calm. Unfortunately, he is a Muslim!!!! The hotel is very excellent for its location. For narrow rooms. I requested a room for 3 people and was given a room that had 3 beds, but it was actually a double bed. They added a smaller bed. When you sleep, the side lamp is above your head, so you have to put your head down so you don't feel uncomfortable. And it's very annoying that he sticks the beds together. When we checked in, they told us the room would be ready at 3 o'clock, and after several attempts, they gave us the room. The Ministry only provided us with two pills a day, and anything more costs money. The lobby is nice and spacious. They had a car with instant photography, but when I came to try it, I finished the pictures that were printed. Catherine was an absolute delight. She checked us into the lounge and her service was phenomenal. Extremely up beat and friendly with a charming smile. She made our experience feel near magical. With every need and request being met with such enthusiasm and helpfulness, I can’t imagine anybody leaves your establishment with a slither of dissatisfaction when she is around. I mean to make it clear that she was the reason for our 5 stars. Credit needs to be given to the people that bring these experiences to life just as much as the establishments housing them.

Absolutely a great hotel experience. Fun, great music theme (formerly Hard Rock Hotel) staff was professional and personable. Security staff was always present and alert, which made us feel super safe. Close to transportation options and within walking distance to popular tourist attractions. Would definitely recommend and return.

The old Hard Rock Hotel at Marble Arch is always a favourite for its price and location. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast now downstairs, sometimes a bit slow to replace the empty sausages and bacon leading to grumpy hungover patrons. Quality of breakfast was great.

Hotel was decent, rooms are basic but beds are comfortable. Fantastic location. However, upon arriving home and checking my bank statement, I discovered that the hotel had charged me twice for one of the rooms we had booked and had also charged me an additional £30 for services that I had not used. This totalled approx £600. After numerous phone calls and emails, and being told they wanted bank statements to prove to them that they had made the charges, but them refusing to provide me with an invoice to explain the additional charges, they eventually acknowledged that they had made the charges in error and agreed to refund the £600. I have been told the refund will take 5 to 7 days. It's such a shame after such an enjoyable trip. If you stay here, please check your bank statement for them taking unauthorised amounts of money!

Quite expensive for what it is. We arrived on time for check in but the rooms were not ready. Reception kept telling us 5 minutes that ended up being an hour. Only once we complained did they get their manager and then offered us breakfast. Room was mediocre. Washroom smelled weird. There was a number 2 stain in the toilet. Reception was asked to bring up an extra duvet and towels when we were checking in. They never brought it. Had to ask a second time. Still didn’t bring it. Asked a third time and they were annoyed and finally brought up only the towels. When we asked the person where the duvet was he just stared at us and went to get it. Room service was expensive and pretty inedible. “Smoked chicken pizza” looked like white little boiled chicken breast that came out of a bag and was throw randomly into one corner on tomato paste. We didn’t eat it. Location was pretty central but I wouldn’t come here again.

We are staying here right now for 9 nights and the constant slamming of doors is EXTREMELY annoying. All night they keep me up and when I try to catch up on my sleep during the day, it's hopeless. Between the housekeeping constantly going up and down the halls non-stop as well as the guests slamming the doors I am counting down the days until I go back home. I have never been so exhausted on a vacation. I don't even have the energy to go do things because I'm exhausted!!!!

The location of the hotel is excellent and the rooms are good, but security is zero. We were waiting for an Uber to the airport and at the hotel, and with the hotel worker, the bags were stolen. They took out the cameras and said they were indeed stolen, and the worker with the bags was standing. Honestly, there is no comment. It is impossible to repeat my experience with them.

Location? Perfect! Hotel is very accessible and close to everything- Hyde Park is just across and plenty of restaurants, bars and things to do around. STAFF - friendly, courteous, and always ready to help. Of note, is my experience with one of their Security Personnel- ABDI - who wa always present, smiling, assisting and ensuring we had a lovely time while in London. Check in clerk was very nice and really helpful, wanted to ensure we had the best experience and were looked after. Great job. But….. We had travelled on a 14 hour flight from Asia, landing at 6am and arriving at the hotel around 9:30am. Check in time was 3pm so we had contacted the hotel in advance asking for a room to be made available or for us to be able to use any shower facilities if not. Unfortunately there was no room available and so the check in clerk arranged for us to access the fitness centre and use showers there in order to freshen up before we headed out. All was going well and our family of four were showering until we were, somewhat rudely, confronted by someone (who failed to say who he was or what position he held) and they announced we were most definitely not allowed to use the showers and told to leave. Luckily for us we had almost finished showering and had therefore freshened up, however the confrontation left a very bad taste. When you pay £400 a night to stay in a hotel not only would you expect them to be more accommodating, they also are bucking the trend of every hotel I’ve stayed at in the world that are far more accommodating to guests needs in these situations. So if you are on a long journey and arrive early, don’t expect to be able freshen up. Personally I think The Cumberland was a good experience overall, but definitely they didn’t make us feel as welcome as we’d expect upon arrival.

Clean and modern hotel located right to Marble Arch. Plenty of USB-A ports make charging smart devices very handy. Neighborhood can be loud especially over the weekend.

The hotel did not take into account the long hours of travel accompanied by transit, even though the travel agency (Kano) assured us of early entry to the hotel. We arrived at the hotel at eight in the morning, and they did not allow us to enter until 2:30 in the afternoon, despite multiple attempts every hour to ensure that the room was vacant. The hotel is very crowded with European and Gulf tourists - Employees lack professionalism when dealing with customers - Feel the body, especially the face, when sitting on the sofa opposite the reception - The location of the hotel is good and close to Hyde Park -The basic rooms are very small - I do not think that this hotel will be my choice for the next trip - The cost of a taxi from the hotel to the airport is approximately 100 pounds - The price of the room is compared to the size and luxury. It is never mentioned that it is expensive and has zero features - Small windows with a back view of buildings Below the expectations, unprofessional staff did not consider the full day long trip we were waiting for 7 hours to check in although the agent informed us that early check in had been requested. This hotel will never be my choice for any further business visit to the UK. Basic room is very small. The hotel is very crowded. Setting on the Sofa opposite to the reception caused a skin allergy.

I always enjoy my experience here. The hotel is in a great location. Hyde Park is right across the street, the tube is right around the corner and there is plenty of good shopping near by. MayQueen and other security personnel make sure the lobby is safe and secure. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Quite disappointed with this one. We came for a weekend and booked here due to it's great location, but that's about as good as it got. The reception is dressed up all nice and they have live music often, but once you pass the reception it all goes downhill. • the elevators have no buttons to press, only 2 card readers for all the lifts, so in peak time you'd swipe your card, wait an eternity, everyone would rush into the lift and you'd have to go back and swipe again because the other lifts don't go to your floor unless you swipe the card in, and join the queue again. • Ordered food the 1st night, paid a fortune for nachos and a hot dog, which were barely passable. The hot dog had some toppings missing but since it was late we just ate and went to sleep. • Room was disappointing given how much they charge. Shower-head barely had any pressure, found some dusty areas and the mirror had not been cleaned either as the previous people had left writing on it. No toilet brush available either. On top of all that the ice machine was broken on our floor, and it was full of dust so it had been broken quite a long time and no one bothered to have it fixed. • Service was hit and miss, staff at check in and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. However the staff were no help with the elevator issues at peak time, even though there was a person stationed there. Also, I had to ring several times to get the food tray from our room service collected and eventually was told to just leave it on the window ledge across from our room. Eventually someone did collect it, but another guest had their tray left outside their room for a whole day and it wasn't collected..

My stay at the hotel was delightful, and Abdi was extremely helpful, kind & efficient with his services as well as that the security team was amazing too. The room was good & satisfied both me & my wife but Abdi’s services stood out to me the most because of how consistent & efficient he was with his services, overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Pay attention to the Arabs who come to the hotel. They thought they would give me a fine of 500 pounds for smoking in the room. They gave me the instruction book in English. We did not notice that it is forbidden to smoke. This is the last time we will book this hotel.

It was super loud, had to wait almost 20 min, for a table we had booked (and was available), service was slow and not the best but they did try not sure if they were just under staffed. The food was okey nothing special, chicken was dry but the hallumie fries were good. The most dissapointing were the drinks we had cocktails and they were so bad, I returned mine two times and then just gave up and did not drink it, they did not take it back and charged full price for it. It's not the worst place I've been to but with so many amazing options in London this place was a waste of time and money
