Stopped here for food after a bike ride. The staff could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The food was delicious and they were happy to split an adults meal for our children. May encourage me to get on my bike more! Thank you

Stopped here after we walked along the river in Willington .. Danish camp to the Priory.. We had 3 mains, the chorizo penne, the pork belly both of which went down very well and for me Gluten Free fish and chips, excellent batter thin and crispy, fresh fish and the chunky fluffy chips were so nice. Would highly recommend. We sat outside as we had a dog, luckily the sun was shinning. Reasonable price. The landlady was very attentive. Overall well worth the stop.

A nice local pub - that is supported by locals.

We had 3 starters/'bar bites' for £18.00. Very interesting menu, beautiful looking food. Had the bao buns, duck bon bons and crab cakes. The real ale was in very good condition, a well filled glass. Very nice atmosphere and decoration, looks as an independent pub should look. We will make a point of going again when in the area. The landlord and landlady are doing such a good job, they really to deserve to be much busier.

My recent visit to The Crown Pub in Willington with my mother was nothing short of delightful. We popped in, on the off chance we could have a Sunday roast. We were so pleased we did. Think it’s the best pub roast dinner we’ve had in a very long time and very reasonably priced. The staff were welcoming, the pub itself is well kept. Highly recommend!

Were recommended by friends to try out this lovely tradional village pub and we weren't disappointed. Great food and menu, brilliant staff who were on the ball. Definatly go again. The only downside at first was that it is a locals pub. But once you get to talk to the locals it's a very welcoming pub.

Been a few times over the years since 2020, same old moans from the Landlords wife? who hovers around just waiting to snatch that empty glass, or curtly remind diners not to dwell without ordering something further once the meal was eaten! The plates of which carried our food were too hot to touch, which saw my wife burn her wrist. That was met with a surly comment of " people complain if the plate's cold. Mediocre roast spuds in a thin gravy, though nice cuts of meat. Unfortunately due to the bad atmosphere we'll never be returning, little wonder Indeed are advertising for a new Chef.

Not a place to go at weekends when it's busy with swimmers and padell boards? If you want a quiet lunch. Probably just go in the week in the future. Parking a bit of a nightmare good job I whent on my motorcycle 🏍. Apart from will call in again sometime..

We had a delicious meal here yesterday evening. All four of us enjoyed the food very much, so tasty and such good options to choose from. Drinks and food service excellent with friendly atmosphere. Well worth a visit and would recommend.

Great pub with attentive and friendly owners, I went with my wife & 2 yr old as a last minute unplanned visit - they were accommodating and service was quick. Very impressed and would thoroughly recommend.

Eaten here twice now. The food is excellent with wonderful Gluten free options. So good to enjoy a crumble again and the spiced orange custard could be a dessert on its own.

We had been here before and had a delicious Sunday lunch, it was only marred by the attitude of the server. As they advertised on their online menu of Roast Lamb, we arranged a second visit. Alas the lamb was no longer on the menu, so we changed for alternatives. The food was not as good as last time, turkey dry, cod in batter a little greasy, and the beef quite grisly. Two in our party decided on dessert, and as the four selections on offer were heavily unsuitable for one in the group, he asked for ice cream and berries. Upon delivery of said pudding, it was a sparrow portion of berries. I guess the piste de resistance came when the bill was presented, and almost immediately the landlady pounced. We asked for a few minutes as we wanted to split the bill. However, when the sums did not add up, she said in a loud voice, so everyone could hear, she had been short-changed by £1.00. From there on, she could not wait for us to drink up by clearing the mats before us. We will not be returning.

Visited for Mothering Sunday. Had starter, main and pudding. Service was friendly and attentive. Everything came out according to the pre order we had our through. Food was excellent with superb produce and great portions. And value for money also fantastic. To top it all off mum received flowers when the bill game. What a thoughtful touch!

We came across this pub by chance on a sunday but am so glad we did The food was absolutely amazing I'm gluten free and very rarely do I get to eat fish and chips. The batter on the fish was so lovely and a very good piece of cod that I made sure I ate it all and couldn't eat the rest of my chips The waitress Natalie made us really feel welcome and the atmosphere felt like a really family orientated business. The roast dinner are so lovely and the separate veg pots. We even got given a extra jug of gravy too Would definitely highly recommend anyone trying this pub out

Lovely pub, small but felt very homey! Went after seeing lots of good reviews and I’m glad we did. My boyfriend and I both got roast pork and it was amazing! One of the best I’ve had! Huge portion with extra cauliflower cheese, extra veg and more gravy brought out. Was very very impressed with everything we had. The lady who was serving us was great and for a Sunday it was quick-ish service.

My first time dining at the Crown - indeed, very good choice on the menu and friendly but efficient staff. Dishes ordered and served were excellent - and good value and delicious. Great welcome by landlord & landlady - warm atmosphere

Great food and service. It is just an ordinary pub so the atmosphere is nothing special but the food was delicious and plentiful. Good for vegan and excellent for gluten free.

Called in on a Sunday lunchtime after visiting the Danish Camp nearby and was delighted to be able to get a table for 4. Our various diatry requirements were catered for and the welcome, service and food was excellent.

It's a lovely place, Vince is a great friendly landlord, haven't met a better one. It's my favourite pub, don't go as much, since my wife passed away, she loved the place. If passing, it's a must, the food is amazing, great chef and staff, good choice of drinks too.

We called in when passing as a party of 6 celebrating an 80th birthday and could not have been made more welcome by the landlord. We also had a little dog who was made welcome. The range of beers were superb and we were handed the brand new summer menu and the daily specials board. Between the 6 of us, 4 had the fish and chips which were superb, I had the steak and ale pie which I can only describe as full of meat!! And my wife had salmon which was equally superb. We had a surprise cake for our birthday girl and the landlord kindly kept it cool and when the time was right brought it out with all the candles lit, and with plates and forks!! Absolutely brilliant. All our party will be returning for definite. If you are in the area then I can guarantee you will not go wrong visiting. I understand they do not do food every night but can't remember what the landlord said so it might be worth a call beforehand!

Great atmosphere only had drinks

This place is an absolute rarity. Had the homemade steak and ale pie with mash and vegetables and it was spot on. Girlfriend had homemade burger and chips which was really nice although it was very filling and she struggled so I gave a helping hand 😉 staff are really friendly as they have always been in the occasions I have visited for a pint. Highly recommended and will definitely return

A large spacious pub with welcoming staff hosting a good selection of real ales. The ESB and the dark mild were excellent. A varied menu with main meals and snacks are on offer, all five of our party chose differently and all were happy with their choice.

Nice greeting from hosts on arrival, our lunch was served promptly one beef one pork with a starter of homemade parsnip soup which was gorgeous. As for the mains we both agreed it was our best Sunday lunch for a long time. Very good value, we shall return.

We visited for the first time with some friends for a lunchtime meal. We were impressed by the appearance of the bar and dining area and the warm welcome from the landlord. We all selected meals from the specials board and when they arrived they were piping hot and well presented. The meals were excellent. The steak and ale pies were particularly outstanding. The beer was tasty and well kept. Altogether a very successful meal and we will come back again and recommend the Crown to more of our friends.

Little gem hidden away. Food was really lovely, we went for a roast on 24/4 The dining are was lovely with plenty of rooms between tables. Catered for disability with side entrance. The staff / owners were so friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Loved the round tables so you could all sit and chat. A good choice on the menu. Some of us had the roast chicken some the lamb and both were cooked really well. The selection of vegetables was excellent. The children enjoyed theirs as well. Would definitely recommend and will be going back. Looked busy so would definitely book on Sunday forgot to mention the apple crumble and the cherry creme brûlée which were gorgeous.

Really friendly welcoming pub serving great home cooked pubgrub, exactly as it should be. Do try the meat pie, full to the brim of real tasty meat and gravy.

We booked this pub for a family gathering of 18 and had the best Sunday lunch possible. Friendly welcome from the couple who run the pub who made us all at home and comfy. Sunday roasts just as they should be with all the trimmings- ask for the roasted cauliflower cheese. Just like the pubs I remember. Would highly recommend. Thank you

A superb Sunday dinner, perfectly cooked and piping hot. Beef for me and lamb for my wife all served with a good selection of freshly cooked veg and great Yorkies and the desserts on offer are a pleasant tasty change from the usual. The service was prompt and friendly and the pub has a nice ambience and the beer well kept and very clean. The hard working hosts obviously take great pleasure in running a good hostelry. I suggest booking before you go and I have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely be back.

A very pleasant experience. Visited for a family meal. Food was generally good but slight complaint from wife that chips not cooked properly. Tried two and agreed. My veggies were colder than rest of meal. Apart from that a great night with attentive service.

Nice friendly, traditional pub, providing great food.

Food and service was good. Lovely decor with a rustic feel. Added bonus was that there was a live band singing and playing guitars and Violin. I suppose music was easy listening, well known ballads, not too loud and made for a lovely atmosphere.

Living just a couple of hundred yards from The Crown my Wife and I have called in for drinks,evening meals and live bands frequently and have always found things to be exellent.Being busy on two Sunday mornings in a row we booked for Sunday lunch and was really impressed,there was a choice of meats,and it was carved generously.There was also numerous vegetables which could be cooked to your liking,and an exellent choice of deserts.We would advise anyone to book.

Fish platter fit for a Restaurant is how I liken the lunchtime meal at one of my favourite local pubs.

We went to a wake there, so we were only there for a short time, but the buffet they did was fine.

Decided to pop into the Crown at Willington near Bedford and jolly glad I did, having previously tasted their Cod and chips I decided to go for something a little different.

My local beer ok food expensive over rated compared to Danish Camp

It was ok but drinks wasn't fantastic.

15 dads and kids came to the Crown during a canoeing trip, we did book as such a large group. The food was very good a pie to die for. The staff were very polite and very attentive. They even had Estrella on draft a favourite larger of most of our group. Would recommend this pub you won’t be disappointed.

Popped into this busy and obviously popular Pub whilst out cycling and jolly pleased I did, friendly staff and happy customers allowed me to quickly like the place, I initially planned to pop in for a refreshing lunch time drink though having seen the menu decided to stay for lunch.

We were looking for somewhere different for lunch and found the Crown highly recommended on Tripadvisor.

My wife and I went out cycling from Gt Denham to Willington the cycle route was excellent no roads until we arrived in willington then it was just going back roads passing some very nice old houses passing the dovecote then ending up at the crown which on arrival looks very nice what a country pub should look like , a nice garden with plenty of room and play things for the kids, inside was nice , the beer was good and staff were very pleasant the food was very good I will definitely go there again.
