Good choice of drinks and food. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly outside and bar area.

Very small portions comparing to few months ago and the prices felt higher than few months ago. Overall felt like a bit shrinkflation on the plate. Roast potatoes extremely hard and difficult to cut. Sticky toffee pudding very dry with small amount of sauce. Not sure what changed, but I will be changing my dining place for sure. Beware of 10% service fee added to your bill! The meal left us all hungry and out of our group, everyone was disappointed about the portions and food quality. Trying Tickled Trout or Castle Inn next!

Very friendly staff,but almost 20quid for a Sunday roast is far from worth it,2 rubber roast potatoes 1 yorkshire pudding and little veg,shouldve gone to a carvers and filled my plate for 14 pounds less,asked me for a dessert and I order a kids burger and chips to actually fill me,them they tried charging us for the kids meals that were free,then had the audacity to ask for almost 9 pound service charge,not worth it at all and the,pre cooked roast potatoes and some of the meat was dry.

Really easy with a large group and definitely with kids, but thought the food was only ok.

Lovely place to meet friends, our go to stop for coffee and a chat. Would be a full five stars if they only offered a vegan alternative with the coffee and cake deals!

The place was clean and comfortable, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Food was reasonably priced as were the drinks We had brunch and it was brilliant. Definitely will return!

All 3 of the gyros we ordered were cold so sent them back and got fresh ones. Beef one no hotter than the first one except the chips. We won't be going back or recommend to anyone. Such a shame.

I have been coming here almost twice every weekend since the ending of governments covid lockdown. The food drinks service accessibility and atmosphere have always been very good indeed and I will always continue to come as long as I am able. I can recommend it to anyone !

First visit (unbelievably). The best customer service in a pub for a long, long time. Very courteous and accommodating. Different rooms giving a different vibe. Large outside area with live music. Dog friendly, child friendly. Just need San Miguel rather than Moretti on tap. Didn't try the restaurant but it looked very appealing.

Decent atmosphere and seating at the back but service is a little bad.

A bit confused - showing as hotel but unable to see a room booking system. If it’s run as a pub then this should be made clear so potential customers are not wasting ten minutes trying to figure out what its business is.

Been here a couple of times on a Sunday and always find the atmosphere and service to be fantastic. The roast I had in March was lovely, but as a pescatarian it is slightly disappointing that there isn’t a veggie alternative option - they basically just don’t put the meat on. It is cheaper than a roast with meat which is good, but it would be nice to have something there as a replacement. Other than that though it’s brilliant and well priced.

Me and my other half went to the Crown hotel. We were served by Sam who offered great advice and guidance on the menu and also recommendations. The food came quick and tasted amazing. From Sam’s recommendation we got dessert and it was lovely. We will be back again to try more option on the menu.

Lovely interior, bar and service, however mainly disappointed with the food.

It was very quiet and early doors. We ordered pizza and chips. The chips were soaked in oil as if they’d been cook time after time. Worst I have ever been served. We left them, complained to the waitress who said ‘that’s how we do them!’ Then I complained to the bar man and he said, ‘ I’ll tell the chef’ but never came back! Never again will I order food from The Crown in Boston Spa.

Nice place for sunday dinner, dog friendly, the staff not so much, witnessed “the manager” shouting and making staff cry in front of people, this was too much to see so we walked out, as well as anothers.

Food was really good, drinks were cold, seats comfy and the staff were nice and personable.

Great little gem in the village. Lovely food and staff so friendly and helpful. Hope to go back very soon xxx

Visited on a Friday evening. Bustling pub, friendly atmosphere and a decent pint.

Very nice atmosphere. Really nice breakfast, not so much the dinner service. We ordered two ‘shared’ mixed grills - which consisted of one sausage each, half a flat chicken breast, a minuet piece of gammon and overcooked steak. The manager ignored us for over 20 mins as he was taking orders, a group of workers just stood around at the till point could be doing this, and you could focus on sorting genuine customer complaints out. The only good thing about it was that one of them was comped - only when we asked though. Please do better. Boston Spa needs a good pub! 👍

Great food. Server was a bit spaced out, but overall a good experience.

Went twice in one week! First time for a cooked breakfast which was perfectly cooked and quite large! The second time was for Sunday lunch- again beautifully cooked (great crackling!) The service is perhaps a little slow but the people were lovely and the food was amazing. I’d definitely go again.

It was packed had to wait awhile for table. It was extremely busy so the staff did well.

Food was good but service wasn’t great , waited quite a while between courses and had to ask a few times for service. Once bill arrived they tried to charge us for kids Sunday roasts, when it states on the menus they eat for free with an adult main. Service charge was also incorrect so bill was over £60 over what it should have been. Feel like regarding the kids meals you don’t tell people about this and hope they don’t notice. Disappointed really.

We had 2 pizza and 2 cokes £35 is horrendous. Pizza for £16 is too much. Service is shocking, waiting 5 mins to be served then getting asked if we're 18, when it is a free house.

Very nice food and a great place. The parking is horrendous and expect a short walk as the car park is small. The food and pub itself makes up for this with a great experience.

Lovely welcoming place, good choice of food (a lot of pie once chopped up and chips on 😀) and puddings! Car park, dog friendly (not in conservatory area) log fire. Toilets up lots of stairs but accessable one on ground floor. Be nice on a dark evening as lots of lights. Outside seating too plus good place to rest, eat, drink after a nice walk/hike!

Does what it says on the Lab but definitely needs improving. We waited an hour for our meal in a noisy busy lunch time. Indifferent quality. Toilets were messy, needed cleaning. We won't be returning

Came in on Saturday to find there was live DJ, she was absolutely brilliant, should definitely have more events like that. Great atmosphere, great playlist and just overall brilliant, it really lifted the mood up from what it's usually like on a normal Saturday! Would love to see this happen again!!

Excellent food and good service. The kids ate free (Sunday roast) with each adult main. Great business sense as this will attract every family for miles! We’ll certainly be back. Great vegan burger.

I was only in for 1 drink but nice large pub with different areas so when not so busy doesnt seem empty. Nicely decorated.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat. Its a lovely welcoming place and friendly staff. The downsides for us was the food potions on the small plates was too big and we'd preferred cheaper smaller portions. That said the food was excellent. We stopped for longer than intended and would happily have stayed all evening if I wasn't driving.

Booked our work Christmas lunch. Some of my team were reluctant as they had been before and felt the food and service was poor and not value for money. We work at St Johns School for the deaf and want to support our local businesses so decided to give them another go. I explained this to the Restaurant manager who reassured me that they had worked really hard to address the issues raised by customers. They have retrained and recruited new staff and worked on the menu. Our meals were very good, we had chosen off the festive menus. They cater for all tastes and preferences. The whole process from booking to ordering was very smooth and professional. Definitely would go agien. The environment was lovley and the staff are friendly and helpful. Looking at the latest review seem to reflect this improvement.

Booked a table in bar area on line ordered and paid for drinks at bar ordered at bar for food Went to pay and 10% service charge was added to bill ? Why what service ? Was so shocked we paid it. WILL NOT BE BACK. Staff need training !!!! To be fair the food was good.

Booked a table of 20 for my daughter's baby shower on Saturday 4th November from 12.00. Communication with AJ prior to the day was excellent. On arrival we were surprised by how busy the restaurant was for 12.00 on a Saturday but this added to an excellent atmosphere. The food arrived and was served well, there was a slight delay with 3 of the food orders, but was rectified as quickly as possible. There were no complaints about the food, great portion sizes and all plates were more or less empty. Good service throughout our booking, would recommend and will definately be back to sample the brunch menu which looked delicious. Thank you AJ for making our afternoon special xx

We went for a meal yesterday and had pre booked as there were 20 of us, it was really busy and had a great atmosphere. All food arrived in good time, service was excellent and everyone enjoyed their meals. Couldn't fault any of it, staff regularly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend.

We had a delicious lunch in the Crown today. Fish and Chips and a Blue cheese and Parma Ham Pizza. Both were excellent and served by a very helpful and pleasant young man. We had a lovely lunchtime experience and will be back soon. Thank you.

Really great night with family, good choice on the new menu with a number of new dishes that went down really well - the chicken in rosemary and lemon was superb, as was the fish cake starter, and generous with the portions as well. The quality of service was great with a really friendly and helpful team, including Georgia who was only completing a trial, glad to know she passed, and thanks to Amy for picking up the later part of service Highly recommend, great atmosphere, environment, food and drinks, what's not to like, we will return 👍

Great village pub! Loads of seating, dog friendly and a decent selection of craft and draught. Four of us ate there tonight and had an absolutely incredible meal at great value for money. The menu is varied and the food is fantastic. Really friendly and relaxed staff and we had great service from Izzy.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Crown. My husband had the Sunday Roast Dinner with Pork, Beef and Cauliflower cheese and said it was the best Sunday Lunch ‘Out’ he’s ever had! We both had starters and puddings which were fabulous. I had the Lemon Tart with Raspberry Sorbet and it was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had also! The atmosphere was great it was busy but not too noisy- just right. (Photos were taken when we just arrived) They were so attentive when I needed boiling water for my baby’s feed-nothing was too much bother. Staff were really friendly. We have actually decided to book our Son’s Christening party here. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. We can see it been a regular place for us to visit. Highly recommend!

Beautiful food, beautiful place. Drinks and food took a while to come but the food was definitely worth the wait.

A great Sunday lunch AJ the restaurant Manager was fantastic he could not have done more for us managed to get us in on the day always found a solution as we turned up with our 2 week old baby in a pram a credit to the business. Food lovely and all other staff attentive. Our young waiter was also great. Once again I’d like to express how amazing AJ the restaurant manager was if only there were more like him in hospitality less places would be closing down will be back very soon as we are local

Lovely place. Went for a meal fairly big group and they were ver accommodating. Staff were lovely. Food was very nice. Would definitely recommend.

Arrived without a booking due to a mix up elsewhere, they found us a space despite it being very busy, warned us we may have to wait. No waiting at all, infact quicker service than many other places! Great food, nice atmosphere, would definitely go again, highly recommended.

Massive thanks to AJ and the team for a lovely Sunday lunch today. This is my 3rd visit to the crown on a Sunday and it’s been great every time. Food is excellent quality, service is always fantastic and the dining room is beautiful. AJ and the team were really attentive without being to obtrusive. There was a young man who had been moved off KP duties for the day to try out waiting, I didn’t catch his name but he did a fantastic job! It’s really nice to see the team giving their staff the opportunity to expand their skills set too! I will absolutely be returning once again soon!

I have probably eaten in the restaurant a few times a year since it opened but tonight’s meal was the best yet, considerably better than any I have had in there previously. I hear there is a whole new staff, it certainly shows in the food we have all had tonight. You now just need to bring back the Symonds cider and I would be even happier

This is a halfway house between me and some of my friends we had never been before but will definitely be going back the food and service was fantastic. Big conservatory plenty of seats and very accommodating for me and my son (19 months old) they even brought out an extra pizza board to put his food on (so he didn't smash the china). Really good on all fronts next time I will bring the wife too.

Really nice pub great atmosphere

We have visited this establishment several times and in the past have excused the poor service and slow food delivery because the atmosphere and food are good but our visit this evening was very poor. We were seated at our table and promised some table water, 15 - 20 minutes later the water had still not arrived and no one had been to take our food or drinks order, in fact we went to the bar to get our own drinks as we were fed up of waiting. Our water only arrived after asking for it three times. After 45 minutes of sitting at our table the starters arrived but we had to make a second trip to the bar to get drinks. Staff walked past our table several times but no-one collected our empty glasses, enquired if the food was ok or asked if we would like more drinks. One member of the party ordered a drink just before the main course was delivered (1 hour forty minutes after arriving) but the restaurant supervisor didn’t ask if anyone else would like a drink and left so quickly that they had to order when main course arrived. The second drinks order came reasonable quickly but the first order never arrived but had been added to the bill when we came to pay. Needless to say we won’t be visiting here again to eat as there are several other excellent eateries in Boston Spa to visit instead.

Four of ate lunch mid-week. It has an interesting and varied menu, and the food was excellent and quite substantial – after a lunchtime burger no evening meal was required. Service was very good and there was no undue delay in the food arriving despite the dining area being busy. Great flavours in the food and everyone’s food was well cooked. Overall, we thought it excellent value for money and will return.

Visited on a Saturday night , bar was busy and live music on. Restaurant very quiet though. Really nice BBQ food, ribs , chicken and beef burnt ends. Portions could have been bigger though. Nice deserts too. Overall was a good night and will visit again. Well recommended.

Called in for a drink - with our dogs. Was good. Fancied a meal there but sadly they were fully booked!!

My food rating is for Bar Snacks. If I was rating the dining menu…which I have used in the past, it would be 5 Star. Excellent. It’s a lovely large location which is very indoor/outdoor in design. Staff are great - super polite & helpful. Great range of drinks. The people that own & run this place also own Headrow House, Water Lane Boathouse, The Belgrave, Beck & Call and that new one in Leeds off Wellington St…who’s name escapes me! I’ve visited all of these locations and I find them all to be top notch and ‘on trend’ in an unselfconscious & low key way. Have really enjoyed all of my visits to The Crown, which have ranged from a big birthday celebration to a sneaky pint in the sun when I’m out on my bike. Recommended!

Bad service, took ages to take orders for food and drinks, took ages to arrive and had issues with dietary requirements.

The pub was littered with pieces of broken glass on the floor and on the window sill I found several pieces. Overall dusty and a little unclean. Menus were scruffy bits of paper and not much choice compared to the last time we visited. Not much choice for gluten free and no desserts whatsoever offered. The food took a while to arrive but was nice. Staff were friendly.

Unfriendly female staff, male very friendly and attentive. Had to ask to see a cocktail menu, had to ask to order a drink, ask to order food, ask again for mayonnaise and ask for the bill whilst out empty plates and glasses were still on the table. Aperol spritz had something in it so asked for one to be remade - male waiter very nicely replaced and was apologetic. One female member of staff in particular very moody and made us feel like we were a nuisance being there and they weren’t busy at all (3 tables). Also stood chatting and laughing a lot and not being attentive. Only paid the service charge because the male waiter was friendly. Would go again for a drink as nice outside area especially on a sunny day like today but service pretty shocking. Should look at employing staff with better manners.

We booked as a large group, including children. We were seated in a beautiful section overlooking the patio. On a summers evening it was really pleasant. The doors were open, so the kids could play in an empty area with no guests. I know this isn't in their control but it was also wasp-free - what a bonus! The service was a little relaxed - we had to go find the staff to order more drinks and to ask for the bill. However the staff were polite, and the food was prompt, well cooked and very tasty. I loved the small plates (popcorn halloumi!) and 3 of the tapas style plates to share was enough for a modest dinner for 2. We also shared a pudding which was delicious. The decor is modern and tasteful.

Sketchy staff, nearly left because I got bored of waiting to order.

All round disappointed !! Staff were pleasant enough but had 3/4 different servers , all of which need some basic training !! ie - mentioning any offers , what’s not on the menu , just look interested !!! One young man just wondering round chatting to the other staff. Looked at menu for 10mins, choose a dish to be then told they had run out .. Run out , there was no one in the place !! Decided on a salad with grilled /fried halloumi, about £13/14 for what was basically lettuce /egg and 4 brown “sticks” of rubbery cheese 🫤The Hake main was ok . Tomato/Basil soup .. very original.. was clap cold .Sent it back , but waited a good 15 mins for it to come back , that was after we had probably waited 45 mins for starters anyway … Considering the prices /the clientele / and the location I would expect top notch all round but sadly this wasn’t the case . Could someone please water the plants , sweep the bin yard , and my one pet hate, using serviettes to stop tables wobbling !!

Just call for for a bite to eat. But kitchen close at 8 pm but advertising on board out side food until 9 pm. !!! Disappointing

Lovely setting and staff are so friendly. We arrived the day they had a new menu. The food was okay and could have been better. No roast potatoes on roast dinner and my salad could have had fresh parmesan instead of powdered. The cocktails, staff and restaurant area at the back were amazing. Would defo go again

Very average, waiters didn’t have much enthusiasm and the food was meh.

A nice pub serving food. Again not too much choice of dark beers. I had the sausage and mash which was lovely, my only complaint it took a while to serve, I was in a hurry maybe next time it will not be a problem. It's frequented by locals who were all friendly, although I could not always understand them.

The manager was really pleasant and fitted us in kindly, even though they seemed to be running with reduced staff. However after waiting over and hour and a half for food, and then when it was brought out it was somehow managed to be both burnt and over cooked, as well as cold. It is such a shame, because this place used to be where we would be happy to bring guests to, and would rave about the food. However now i feel we would be served quicker, and with more palatable food at McDonald’s!
