Staff fabulous. Everything was great. Definitely would recommend.

Very good food with ample portions served by waitresses who were very efficient attentive and friendly. Good menu choices. Interesting atmosphere that had good choices of dining layouts for all dining parties of various sizes. Also dog friendly.

Have been here a few times in the past. Food is nice but the last time there was a long wait for a table and when in the que got overlooked and was spoken to rudely. Will be a while before I go there again. Shame

Cracking small plates, best I've had in a long while. Bar staff are so welcoming and log fires on both sides. Best couple of hours in a pub for a long while. Would recommend the halloumi bites, sausage roll and scotch eggs

I'm a local in the area and there is so many walks and activities near the pub, service is good but nothing really good or bad about it. The landlord is really nice and helps with costumers who need to leave, leave. The waiters are very polite aswell.

Visited yesterday and waiting a while to be seated once seated we was sat down and the same happened there was not served and had a young lady keep looking at us who worked there who clearly could see that we had not been served and yet she blanked us the whole time not making the effort to ask any one to see us so overall service terrible and ended up walking out !

I had a mushroom starter and a chicken and bacon with vegetables . A Pepsi Max i had as a drink . The view is of the River Lea with canal barges and other boats , which belong to the Lea Valley boat hire company.

Recently moved to the area from overseas and came across The Crown from posts on social media. Myself and my family love it! The setting (even more so when it’s nice weather), staff and food are all great! Our new “go to” for local drinks/food.

Just nice to sit by the canal and watch people around. With boat hire, and plenty of walking areas.

Be aware that if you want an evening meal here that the kitchen seems to close at differing times depending on what seems to be the mood of the management. This is a prime property in a prime location that could really serve the local community well, but they fail to do this with irregular closing times and a general unwillingness to be helpful. Woe betide you should you be here near closing time as they will make sure that you are out of the door ASAP. The fact that the evening trade here is virtually non existent, tells it's own story.

Wonderful lunch for my parent's 59th anniversary. The food was delicious, the set menu was incredibly good value. We loved everything we tried. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. I can't fault them. Parking was easy too. Dad doesn't walk well but we parked close to the entrance and there was even a lift to get down some steps inside so we could sit overlooking the river. We will be back for sure.

Always stop here when cruising through Broxbourne. First, I was told I could not order from the table as "We don't do it anymore", while standing next to the board saying "Order from your table" in big letters. Then my child ordered the Sunday roast beef from kids menu, which arrived with a single thin slice of meat hidden among the roast potatoes. It felt like the quality of the food has taken a dip in the last couple of years. We left as soon as the food was finished. Otherwise the beer garden is nice and there's plenty of space.

absolutely the rudest most unhelpful place ever. the attitude is you are lucky they are serving you!! absolute joke!! if you want to go for food suggest you bring a picnic as they feel an hours wait on a booked table.

Been to this pub many times and will carry on to return! Great atmosphere in a spacious pub garden just along the river, tasty reasonably priced food. Additionally on the inside is cosy and comfortable with a great selection of drinks all round. Service is always excellent too, Mitchell was very helpful and definitely enhanced our experience today. Just had a lovely visit to the Crown and was looked after by Kirsty who made us feel very welcome. What a lovely person, a credit to the establishment. Food was delicious. Not very busy when we visited so food didnt take long. Drinks a bit pricey but the food was worth the money. We had a delicious burger which we enjoyed. Plenty of parking and in a nice spot by the river. Would definately return.

Had late lunch with my boyfriend. His order was a vegetable curry with chicken pieces which arrived dry, stringy and tasted like cardboard. My main of Haddock fish cakes were overcooked, my chips were underdone and the tenderstems over done. I was hungry so i ate mine while my boyfriend re ordered. He watched me while i ate and then vice versa when his food arrived. As a local im serioisly disappointed and embarrassed to take my boyfriend, friends or family here for food again. Won't be coming here again. F-

Had a late lunch with my partner. Ordered the vegetarian curry with chicken pieces. The chicken was dry, stringy and over cooked. My partner ordered the fish cakes with triple cooked fries and tender stems which when arrived where far too over done. The chips were under done and the tender stems where curly to the point they had been over boiled or microwaved. I had sent the curry back and re ordered something else. My partner ended up eating her meal as I watched and then vice versa when mine arrived. TOTAL GARBAGE for a country pub that charges £18-£20 a main. Would NOT RETURN. Recommend the Fish and Eels instead.

Superb pint of Doom Bar, good food and atmosphere lovely setting next to river, met the two Kirsty’s, both were very friendly and good fun, Kirsty the team leader made our day we shall definitely return.

We had a lovely server called Kirsty who showed us to our seats and opened the patio doors for us. She went above and beyond for us! The atmosphere is warm and friendly. Kirsty was very open about the menu and helped us choose. We had our food in a timely manner and it was delicious. Kirsty was on her own taking and handing out orders and did it all with a smile! Would 100% recommend this pub! Emma and Mandy x

Bought a sunday lunch here few months back came with pork belly that was completely fat not crispy one bit, Potatos looked like was out of can and under cooked horrible experience for 17.95

Nice spot for a drink and food, whether you're travelling there especially or just stopping off as you walk or sail past. Large garden with parasols in case of inclement weather. Aspall cider on tap as well, far better than Inch's. Ability to order via QR code and have it delivered to your table.

Rude service. Scamming practices. I don't recommend. Kitchen closed earlier then advised.

Update -July 2024: I did the mistake to come back 3 times after my edit....nothing changed, their kitchen had backlog of about 45 min, they said, and don't accept new orders. This exactly was the excuse all 3 times. And by looking around their garden most tables they were eating, with some customers clearly just had their food. All this happening around 8pm, on a lovely warm summer Monday evening....honestly it's such a shameful behavior towards customers. Why can't managers take action? ________________________________ Original review, April 2024: The service was really good and the ladies took a good care of us however the quality wasn't something too special. Lovely ribeye steak and nice cocktails too! Bonus the decor and the real fire places :) Edit, May 2024: we came last Friday after a long almost 2 hour walk by the river. It was 10min before the kitchen was due to close but they refused to take a food order as they had a half an hour back log of food orders. Bummer but I get this. So we decided to just have a drink and then just go to find a take out. It was a pint of cider and a soda, £8.80 for those (a bit pricey but anyway). My partner handed his phone to the guy in the till who's holding it and says to me that for card payment to tap on the top of the machine. I did so and at the same time I hear a "no", but couldn't understand why. Mind you I'm exhausted from the walk and in incredible physical pain . He then immediately hands over the phone to my partner and then said " sorry, SHE paid and I can't issue you the (loyalty) points (in the app). I'm stunned and so is my partner. I asked "can you just cancel this payment (or refund on this case) and do this again?", to which he replied no. My partner pointed out that he was holding to his phone BEFORE I was encouraged by him to pay.. At this point I'm just hungry, in pain, thirsty and appalled from the lack of customer service 😑. I admit I said to my own language to basically get the f@$%^ out of there as I was furious. Never going back. Doesn't worth it.

Stopped by the Crown today after cycling for a bit. Had a great time there with a lovely pint and good food by the river. Will definitely be coming back. Only downside was the long queue to the bar, but once I ordered the food was prepared super fast!

Very disappointed in the end, my daughters and I were having a lovely drink food and atmosphere then the bar man or manager had to ruin it by being lazy! My daughter ordered 2 pineapple spritz not cheap over £7 per drink! The first ones we ordered were amazing the second ones the guy brought out were in a glass half the size! They tasted very weak and there was no garnish! Hmm clearly as we had ordered the same cocktail he had made one batch and split it into to 2 glasses instead of one and charged her for 2 drinks!!! I mean what a cheek!! I seen him later on bringing out peoples cocktails.in the larger glasses with garnish! Very disappointed to.be treated that way!! Just absolutely taking the mick on people!

One of the prettiest places to take a break from a cycle ride along the Lea river. The pub offers a huge beer garden, food and drinks. Family, pet and bike friendly.

Great pub, went for dinner and had steak which was cooked to perfection.

Tess looked after us on Sunday for Sunday lunch she was engaging and couldn’t do enough for us and always looked out for our orders. Really enjoyed the visit the food but especially Tess and the other stafff

We had a lovely roast at The Crown Broxbourne. The food was delicious with generous serves. The service was excellent, Tess went above and beyond to make it a great experience!

Got the roast, beef was severely overcooked, vegetables was very undercooked - to the point I couldn’t cut through one of the potatoes and parsnips (this has never happened to me before at a dining establishment). Service was subpar - refusing partner to order salad however there was a couple next to us who had. Definitely an experience jot worth £42.

We ate in The Crown last week. We were informed our main course was ready while we were still in the middle in our starters. We requested that the main course be delayed until we had finished. Once the mains finally came out they were cold and inedible. The lamb @ £25 was ice cold. We didn’t receive an apology; we were simply told that the mains had commenced the moment our order was taken, regardless of how quickly they served up the starters. In the words of the waitress “the food was simply kept under the heating lights” whatever that means?! Our daughter had no main course as a result and there was no hint of regret or compensation; just a blase comment “no worries, we won’t charge you” … for something she didn’t even get to eat!!! Pretty damn awful service. Should be ashamed.

Had the Sunday trio and it was absolutely delicious. Kirsty was absolutely lovely and made me an Irish coffee when it wasn't in the menu. Best Sunday dinner I've had in a long long while and I would definitely be back for another! Thank you for a lovely dinner (dined 9th of June, would recommend booking a table aswell)

Love this place, the food has had its ups and downs historically. Last time it was really good. The terrace is lovely. Go early get nice seats and not many people

Went today for food with my family there was 7 of us and I would not recommend it the food for the price was very disappointing the roast dinners lacked any flavour meat was hard and chewy and the potatoes are not even properly roasted was also very cold when it come out the kids had chicken burgers and there chicken was tough and not very nice and their mash was like instant mash and was not very pleasant for £20 for a roast dinner it really was a let down , lovely pub with lovely views for a drink but not to eat

We booked here for a Sunday roast after walking in the Lea Valley Park. A total disappointment - two miniature slivers of beef, few veg and soggy potatoes that seemed to have come out of a freezer. The staff were nice enough but it's telling that when they came to clear the table, none asked if we were satisfied. Atmosphere none too good either. Half the loos out of service and a long queue to buy (expensive) drinks at the bar. At £18 a ripoff - sub-Wetherspoons experience for a centre-of-London price.

Such a lovely pub by the Canal. Had the adults roast beef which was nice and ordered a children's turkey (which was lovely). The woman who served us - Kirsty couldn't do enough. She sat us by the door and checked if we wanted it open or closed. Let my daughter type in her own food in and checked on us often (added a stuffing on my daughters plate because she loves them). Relaxing atmosphere and nothing was too much. We will back back for sure.

Pretty decent food, honestly priced, but an unacceptable long wait of an hour for a blue sirloin steak and a burger.

My wife had her 60th there Saturday night,manager Kirsty, Emily and Charlie managed the 34 guests floorlessly, food was excellent, everyone commented on it Thanks to all of you Jeff

Had a wonderful lunch at The crown, Emily our server could not have done anymore for us, helped me with gluten free choices from the menu and I must say the gravy was the best I’ve ever had ! Highly recommend
