Good dog friendly pub by the canal

Not been to this pub before for food and won't be again. Had chicken burger with chips. I'm a 50 year old man who doesn't cook for a living and I could've seriously done a better job with cooking and preparing this dish. For £20 along with a coke it was embarrassingly bad. Cold chips too.

Prober pub vibes. Kirsty was the best waiter/host. Very kind, friendly and accommodating. Even though they were busy, she took the time to chat and make sure we were good. Very lovely x

Good service on a sunny day. Pub was full but made time to ensure we had a good visit great roasts!

very welcoming members of staff and the food is to die for we have since tried to recreated the baked camembert at home but nothing compares our eyes were defiantly bigger than our stomachs massive plates of food 10/10

Need sharper knives beef was difficult to cut and a bit chewy potatoes not crispy Carrots hard Baked apple was not even cooked

I often wonder in here after walking my dog on a Saturday afternoon. Very nice staff who can't do enough for me and my dog. A very relaxed atmosphere makes it a perfect afternoon drink.

Lovely venue and location unfortunately, my dog found three pieces of chewing gum under one single table. Asked card or cash even before I got my product/refreshment. Female member of staff had the personality of a piece of flint and at £6.25 a pint left before even looking at the menu.

Very warm welcome. Really thoughtful staff. Water and snacks for the dog, and drinks came straight away. The place was clean, cosy and inviting. Food arrived promptly and was delicious. Excellent fish and chips. Lovely puddings.

Probably one of the best dining out experiences for a long time. Good honest food at good honest prices. There were 15 of us in all for my wife’s birthday lunch. Because we have 7 grandchildren we wanted somewhere that could accommodate us in a family friendly atmosphere. Kirsty was our hostess for the afternoon and from the moment we arrived up until we left she was all over it. She instinctively knew what we needed and sorted us out accordingly. She was brilliant with the kids and nothing seemed like too much trouble as we trawled through the menu deciding what we wanted. My eldest son is a celebrity Tv chef and even he could not believe the level of service we received. A big THANK YOU to Kirsty for looking after us and the other Kirsty in the kitchen for the fantastic food and Simon for making sure the birthday cake was looked after until we needed it. All in all an excellent experience.

The place is nice located Been there few times with my girlfriend but honestly whenever I go to the casher alone without my girlfriend , I feel so offended and sad That they don’t treat me nicely just because I’m foreign I mean I were very polite tried my best to be nice but just been treated not nice , and not feeling welcome when I try to order because it’s not first time that happened ,the staff really needed to be educated with all due my respect , we are all human deserve to be treated the same way

Visited over the weekend. The food was great, service was very good, our waitress was Chloe, she took our order quickly and was always checking if we needed anything else. Would recommend for a nice pub lunch

Great riverside pub in Broxbourne. Decent prices and a good selection of drinks. Two log fires in the main pub. Big outside area. Food was excellent. I had a brisket sandwich with onion rings and chips and my son had a sirloin steak. Both were excellent. Staff are excellent and very friendly. I will definitely be back.

Nice pub food. Had roast on a Sunday and I can be picky but it did not disappoint. Might have not looked like the best cooked roast but it tasted it. Pork was beautiful. Menu said came with crackling but it didn’t but that was probably good for my belly and teeth. Large tasty calamari portion to start too. Good friendly staff and atmosphere.

We booked ‘Brunch with Santa’ and went this morning with our 3 children. Hands down the best Santa experience we’ve had. No queues, waited on hand and foot. Santa made sure he spent time with each table. We felt so welcome and so spoiled. Would highly recommend. Will definitely be booking for next year.

We had breakfast with Santa and it was great. The Santa was really friendly and patient which was amazing as my son is a little shy. The food was lovely and the staff are so helpful and attentive. We would definitely recommend and will be coming back next year.

I've eaten there many times over the years. Always, good food, good service, super duper friendly and helpful staff. 100% recommend. Also, it's dog friendly. I like to park up, walk my girly dogs along the river, then go for the best pub luncheon I've ever had. 😁😁😁😁😁😁

I’m great start/welcome with one of the waiting staff. Food quality also excellent. However unfortunately service slow with lots of unneeded glasses and dinner plates etc left on the table for a long time before being cleared. Also booked email states service charge was discretionary however server advised it mandatory. Service was £20 on the bill however we wanted to leave £10 cash which we thought was a fair reflection of service.

We had a lovely birthday lunch with my elderly brother in law. As always cosy, friendly staff, nicely cooked food. We were not hurried out and had a good natter. There’s a pleasant canal walk that goes from the pub and dogs are allowed. Couldn’t recommend this place more highly. We spent about £25 each

We cycled yesterday along the river lea came across the Crown pub great atmosphere the staff was very friendly I had the lamb shank done perfectly my mate had Steak pie again done perfectly with big bits of steak, I would Highly recommend with a open fire.

Very good food with ample portions served by waitresses who were very efficient attentive and friendly. Good menu choices. Interesting atmosphere that had good choices of dining layouts for all dining parties of various sizes. Also dog friendly.

Have been here a few times in the past. Food is nice but the last time there was a long wait for a table and when in the que got overlooked and was spoken to rudely. Will be a while before I go there again. Shame

Cracking small plates, best I've had in a long while. Bar staff are so welcoming and log fires on both sides. Best couple of hours in a pub for a long while. Would recommend the halloumi bites, sausage roll and scotch eggs

Great location, great service, Sunday lunch was amazing.

I'm a local in the area and there is so many walks and activities near the pub, service is good but nothing really good or bad about it. The landlord is really nice and helps with costumers who need to leave, leave. The waiters are very polite aswell.

Visited yesterday and waiting a while to be seated once seated we was sat down and the same happened there was not served and had a young lady keep looking at us who worked there who clearly could see that we had not been served and yet she blanked us the whole time not making the effort to ask any one to see us so overall service terrible and ended up walking out !

Recently moved to the area from overseas and came across The Crown from posts on social media. Myself and my family love it! The setting (even more so when it’s nice weather), staff and food are all great! Our new “go to” for local drinks/food.

I had a mushroom starter and a chicken and bacon with vegetables . A Pepsi Max i had as a drink . The view is of the River Lea with canal barges and other boats , which belong to the Lea Valley boat hire company.

Wonderful lunch for my parent's 59th anniversary. The food was delicious, the set menu was incredibly good value. We loved everything we tried. The staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. I can't fault them. Parking was easy too. Dad doesn't walk well but we parked close to the entrance and there was even a lift to get down some steps inside so we could sit overlooking the river. We will be back for sure.

Be aware that if you want an evening meal here that the kitchen seems to close at differing times depending on what seems to be the mood of the management. This is a prime property in a prime location that could really serve the local community well, but they fail to do this with irregular closing times and a general unwillingness to be helpful. Woe betide you should you be here near closing time as they will make sure that you are out of the door ASAP. The fact that the evening trade here is virtually non existent, tells it's own story.

Great pub with lovely bar staff, everyone is very friendly. Lovely lunch, definitely recommend this pub on the River Lea. It's much better than the Fish & Eels for your local.

Always stop here when cruising through Broxbourne. First, I was told I could not order from the table as "We don't do it anymore", while standing next to the board saying "Order from your table" in big letters. Then my child ordered the Sunday roast beef from kids menu, which arrived with a single thin slice of meat hidden among the roast potatoes. It felt like the quality of the food has taken a dip in the last couple of years. We left as soon as the food was finished. Otherwise the beer garden is nice and there's plenty of space.

Great location, good pub food. A nice place to have lunch especially on a sunny day in the garden overlooking the river.
