We came out with family and were slightly disappointed. This is our 3rd visit over a period of time. New young staff. Not the friendly welcome we had before. Talking behind their hands which we found quite rude and one of the girls staff uniform left little to the imagination. Vibe definitely was not the same or the service. Food was ok. Very big menu to select from. Not sure if its too big. Roast was good last time we came on a sunday. Plenty of food! But we have had better.

Booked in for lunch time pub meal very disappointed overpriced processed frozen cod and chips Cod minced processed and overcooked. I know pubs need to be cost effective but this was poor. Macorini cheese meal good but value for money poor...TV was so loud you could not hold a conversation ok if you wanted to hear the ROAR of the sports channel. We went there for a pub lunch. Would we go there again No.

My husband and I popped into this pub for a lunch and drink on our way to Warwickshire. The service could not have been better from the landlord to the delightful young lady who brought us our lunch. I had a bottle of wine with my delicious burger which I was taking with me and the landlord allowed me to keep the bag with ice in it to keep it cool. Not only was the bag a brilliant idea, I wasn't expecting his generosity. Thank you so much and, if we are ever in your neck of the woods again, we most definitely will be returning. Went to the Crown on 18/3/23 for a family celebration of a 50th birthday, our party being 22 people in total. The whole event was amazing and enjoyed by us all, the food was excellent and considering we were 22 in total we had not had to pre order and could order anything from the extensive menu. There was another party in the restaurant with us also celebrating a 50th birthday and so there was a lovely atmosphere for the whole afternoon. Thank you to everyone at The Crown for making this special event for us such a great one, we will be using you again when we have another family celebration and would highly recommend.

Went for a meal just after the pub had been refurbished all I can say is avoid at all cost the food is stone cold tasteless and just generally horrible the man who was serving behind the bar was more interested in the sports on the tv instead of serving customers when he finally decided to serve he was rude and slammed glasses down on bare bare far the worst pub food I have eaten STAY CLEAR not family friendly

We arrived peak lunchtime and the restaurant was starting to fill up. I needed to work for the afternoon and they found me a seat near a plug socket. We are also vegan and although they had no vegan options on their menu, they discussed options with us and catered for us amazingly. We had two chip sandwiches, the bread was amazing and the chips were delicious! Staff were friendly too!

Popped in for a quick drink and decided to grab some food. Made to feel really awkward as we hadn’t reserved a table. Was told there would be a 30 minute wait which we accepted but it’s unacceptable to wait 30 minutes to say my order was no longer available. We were then told it would be another 30 minute wait. Asked for a refund and the landlord became quite aggressive. I didn’t complain but mentioned my glass was dirty, showed the landlord who didn’t comment and ignored me. So I showed him again, not sure if he heard me. All he said was, quite sternly, yes I can see. Tables were also filthy and sticky. But the worst thing was the rudeness from the landlord.

The pizzas are good, but if you live at RAF Benson, you're screwed. They used to have drivers that could come unto station with a pass, but the last couple of times, they've sent foreign drivers with no valid ID. I can't always pick it up at the gate, and now I have to cancel my order. Sort yourselves out, Dominos!

Very nice Pub in Didcot. A lot of choice in the menu. We took burgers, hot dog and tikka masala. Everything was amazing! Real indian flavours on the curry, and very good burgers! Very recomendable, with parking , terras and fun zone with dards and pool. We come back!

We have always liked the food and service in Harvesters. Always been loyal customers. However, our most recent experience was not great at all. The place was busy, the salad bar was quite empty and the food took a much longer time to arrive which we could excuse as a one-off. But some of the food was not cooked through unfortunately, which believe it or not, again we sort of excused as staff apologised and replaced it. What we cannot overlook however was the menu has changed and unfortunately all the tasty parts of the food have been replaced with hard, tasteless freezer food. Prices have gone up too, which is understandable but they should not have messed with the quality of the food. The chicken, the hash browns were not soft and succulent as before. The nice onion ring was replaced by hard and cold cheese jalapeño rings. Totally different food experience now. We are not going to go back in a hurry, let's just say. Really sad as we did like frequenting it over the last few years.

Disappointed booked for my son’s birthday as we have been many times. Ordered drinks only to be told this was an old menu and the lager was no longer available and they hadn’t received the new ones. We ordered the buttermilk chicken which we have each time we go, so disappointed the chicken arrived with a pile of Lettuce just dumped on the top no presentation, no sauce no coleslaw and the chips came a minute or so after and were cold. Charging the same price for less food. Unfortunately this has ruined it for us and we won’t be back.

£20 for a walk around a garden and a cream tea - you might think that would be eye-wateringly expensive. And to some degree you are right. This could be a description of the quintessential English experience. And yet, and yet ... even in the depths of winter this garden is exceptional. I began my walk feeling completely out-of-sorts, not uplifted by the well-meaning messages on little boards on the Truth Trail, and yet by the time I had found glorious fields of snowdrops and small glimpses of the tiny wonders that are the early spring crocus, I was well on my way to upliftment. The gardens are an utter enchantment. Everywhere there are signs of great husbandry and quiet wisdom. Simple imagery becomes clever symbolism; from the dark yew hedge hunched over in the centre of the broad expanse of lawn, to the exquisitely espalliered orchards and the order of the herbaceous borders, you are led to the magic of the little girl dancing upon her own reflection in the wide waters, and the child offering wisdom in the formality of the Silent Space. Even in the Walled Garden, the National Collection of Saxifrage blew me away - utterly stunning in both its setting and design. I came away utterly bowled over by the beauty of the gardens, happy to have spent the money. The lovely little cafe in the portacabin was delightful, and the cream tea delicious. I shudder to think what the queues and the wasps are like in summer, though. I will be brave and come back in summer though, because the gardens must be even more magical then. And because I have to see, with my own eyes, the huge swathe of camassia leichtlinii in bloom. And THAT'S something I never thought I would say in a Tripadvisor review! :D
