Old fashioned pub, busy, dogs, very good ciders, people crammed into it somehow, expect to talk to other people, no wi-fi. It's great.

First visit for 6 years and it hasn't changed (thank goodness). Great well conditioned beer (Directors was exemplary) and a terrific range of crisps, dogs, warm indoors, no pretentious nonsense although I'd love to see some "craft" cans in there (not supermarket craft, proper craft) and some pork/vegan pies with pickles. But I won't mark a pub down for being a proper beer pub in a county that guzzles wine and cocktails.

A proper old-fashioned village pub, busy with locals and welcoming to visitors. It features in CAMRA's regional inventory of pubs with historic interiors. The lovely landlady has been here for 30 years and serves a range of 4 real ales and 3 traditional ciders. No food but you can eat your sandwiches in the bar (a good village shop is very close-by).

Had my first trip to the Crossways last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed myself! The beer festival was running and not only was there a great selection but all the ales were in fantastic condition! Honestly the best beers I’ve had in a long time. The staff were amazing and the pub itself is clean, pleasant and still captures the traditional pub style and atmosphere. Despite a super busy bar the staff were quick and attentive and really friendly. Stayed for the very popular quiz which was great fun. A top way to spend a Sunday evening and can’t wait to come back!

Came here on a Friday afternoon for some food with my son. Greeted with a nice friendly smile and the strong smell of beer to be told, “Food is tomorrow”. Ok then.

Really solid little pub with a lovely outside area, the flowers and borders are so well kept. Lots of different Bees, which is a plus for my daughter! The bar was friendly and the beer was fresh even if the selection was a little old school. Definitely worth a stop on the way up the hill

Great choice of beers. A real village pub - no gastro here, although when Teresa is doing food (C-19 has halted it for now) it's good and wholesome. Teresa is the epitome of a village pub landlady (hope that's not sexist).

We stay in hotels/Inns all over the world frequently for work and pleasure with a big dog and just this week this was our second stay of the week in a hotel. We wanted to have a chilled getaway in a countryside to escape London. We booked the Four Poster Bed Room, mostly because wanted to relax in the Spa Bath after a long week and walking with the dog in the countryside. Check in was smooth and friendly, views from the room were amazing and room was clean and nice as well as the bathroom. Pretty much everything from there went downhill. First warning sign, we were informed that restaurant is fully booked, but we get a table in a bar to sit with the dog but there was not more than handful of customers. Drinks were good, dinner was absolutely disaster. Burger was horrendous, we had a way better one at Glastonbury's Morrisons cafe next day for fraction of the price. Dirty fries with pulled pork where frozen chips that were cooked in the oven, pulled pork was tasteless and over cooked and clearly heated from the freezer. I was not expecting gourmet experience but this made school cafeteria meal taste good. Then everything went even more downhill. The Room did not have ANY hot water. We informed one of the waiters and he went immediately try to fix the issue, who kindly informed us after 10pm that boiler is not working. So no hot tub experience or shower for us after day of walking. No hot water before 10am next morning, when the check out time is. No shower until at home. We mentioned this to a very rude check out person who did not offer any compensation or apology, things do happen and boilers break down but how situation was handled by the reception staff in the morning was very rude, since you would expect hot water at your rooms or at least apology for lack of it after paying £230 pounds all together to the hotel. What makes this stay even more confusing, was the fact that we both agreed that the breakfast was absolutely AMAZING, I had Egg Benedict and I have never had better, not in London's or NYC expensive restaurants. My partner agreed same with his full English. Also, two of the waiting staff were absolutely amazing and seemed to pretty much run everything between fixing boilers to making cocktails and making guests to feel comfortable while other staff, that was numerous was just standing around. It is a really shame I had to write this review since seems that the Crossways has a lot of potential, for example if the dinner quality would match their breakfast, I would drive there just for the food for 2,5h. And that rest of the staff apart from 2 waitress/bartender would learn basics of working in a restaurant/hotel.

Tired pub , although would seem popular with locals, so I bet the food although traditional is good, wouldn't know myself as only popped in for a drink . Shame as it lacked soul and needed a bit of TLC, I might have returned to soak in the atmosphere and try the food, if it had been better.

This place was a little shining beacon in my hour of need. Having got caught in the bad weather unable to get up any of the surrounding hills to get back on the A3, I took respite in this pub. With my battery on 10%, the landlady gave me what I needed to charge my phone and the locals kept my spirits up and offered my advice on the best way to go. Feeling rested, I was motivated and inspired to takle the Hindhead Hill, making it up on the second attempt. Thank you.

Myself and my Wife both had a great meal at the Mulberry Inn last night. Great staff and a beautiful Pub/Restaurant with a roaring fire. Very inventive menu with a Middle eastern theme (mostly Lebanese) although there are also plenty of traditional dishes to choose from for the less adventurous. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again if in the area.
