Carlo Italian Bistro - Deli in Waverley

Can't comment on what it's like to dine in but do not recommend for take away or collection. Our main gripe is with the lasagne which was presented poorly and didn't taste great. And considering this was £15 the portion size wasnt great either. Tasted similar to a ready meal you'd get from a supermarket and looked like it too. The pizza I had was okay and the starters we ordered were fine. Considering this cost us close to £50 there are other Italian restaurants which are so much better for a similar price. Disappointed

We booked a table for Valentines Day yesterday and it was lovely! Carlo is so polite and warm and welcoming and made us feel special. The food was delicious as always... thanks guys!

Lovely proper Italian food at very reasonable prices.

We felt very lucky to get a last minute book at Carlo's on a Friday evening. The food was delicious and the service was very welcoming throughout. We both especially enjoyed the desserts. It's not a big Restaurant by any means compared to the two well known Italian chains nearby, but it definitely holds its own. Will definitely try to return again one day, even if it is just to pop in to the store for Italian essentials.

What a fantastic find of an independent Italian restaurant , enjoyed a lovely meal at Carlo’s, small and intermate, food was amazing and Carlo and his team looked after us.

Amazing atmosphere and authentic Italian food. The chef was really accommodating as we turn up without reservation and he personally came and check if we enjoyed the food. Would definite come back again (with reservation).

Absolutely brilliant food, the most authentic Italian experience I have had outside of Italy itself, and even then the food rivals the best Italian food I have had there. Carlo is really friendly and it’s always a pleasure to sit in and eat.

I go with my client often to Carlo's. We love the whole vibe, great coffee and food.

The dishes I had were okay, the pizza (my wife had) and aubergine starter dish (I had) were good, but the bolognese was >okay< and a small portion for the price we paid. I would have expected fresh made pasta at that price. I just wish there had been a more extensive selection on the menu, other than pasta and pizza. The atmosphere was good, and there was a team spirit front of house.

a shop where you can order pizza, a weak selection of dishes in stock , mediocre coffee. The pizza was very hot but the dough was not ready in the middle.

Had a quick lunch on Saturday, the chicken panini. Was the best panini ever! Crispy on the outside, soft inside. Waitress was very friendly. Perhaps a suggestion that more "cloth"/material somewhere will help with acoustics and dampening sounds. All surfaces are reflective and it would add to a nicer, more cosy atmosphere to have sound absorption. Food is fantastic!

Really nice menu and lovely people but the seating area is quite cold and unwelcoming. If this was made to feel warmer with low level lighting and some decor, this would be a go to place for me.

Interesting addition to Haslemere’s growing restaurant community. Perfectly located for a pre-theatre dinner. Atmosphere is a little sterile, my arrancini were still frozen in the middle (first for me in 40 years of dining out) and not overly good in any way. Pizza was good but the experience left me questioning the cooking and preparation. Expensive for what we had.

It's like going on holiday and stumbling into a little local restaurant. Great food and absolutely wonderful people. Interesting place - a small chunk of Italy in the middle of Haslemere. A small place so you need to book most nights so as not be disappointed though we have been lucky for an early sitting a couple of times. It works for a family meal, or a grown-up supper. Eating there just makes me realise how much is missing when you eat in one of the big pseudo-Italian chains. It is a little more expensive though.

Me and my partner visited Carlo's today at lunch time and the food was indifferent. I am disappointed as we visited about 5 weeks ago and the food was good so today was, we hope, just an 'off day'. I had penne pasta with pesto sauce and the sauce was tasteless and nothing like what a good quality pesto sauce should taste like. The buffalo mozzarella salad was ok but the mozzarella was not of the quality one would expect of a good buffalo mozzarella cheese.

Enjoyed lovely homemade potato and bean soup with fresh bread. Excellent, would recommend.

Fantastic authentic Italian food , great cafe and pizzeria, so much better than the chains. Very reasonable priced Friendly and welcoming staff, well worth a visit .

Excellent pizzas, reasonably priced. Good salads. A range of pasta dishes we haven’t yet tried. Friendly staff.

Excellent service beautiful flavoursome food, so far I have enjoyed pesto pasta, aubergine parmigiana, cannoli lemon, pistachio, chocolate, vanilla; my favourites being lemon & pistachio. I highly recommend the Rosé Wine, it is light & refreshing, tastes divine. I was so besotted by my glassful that I bought a bottle to enjoy at home. Also there is a vast selection of delicatessen delights available for purchase.

The food is absolutely lovely and very authentic. Glad they have finally opened
