What a little gem!! Great chat with the staff. Fab location not far from where we were camping. Don’t go with under 18’s but for us it was perfect. You can always get a takeout pint or two and watch the sun go down across the bay on the beach 2 min walk away 🥰 I’m not a beer drinker but a shot of Jura was fab.

Lovely pub right by a railway crossing, hence the name! A bit quirky inside, which was great, toilets down stairs (one of each). The landlord and lady were lovely and welcoming and the real ales were fab. No food unfortunately, but the Fiddler's crisps were divine. Popped in there for one, came out four drinks later! Would highly recommend!

Comfortable, surroundings right next to the West Coast mainline, brilliant if you're a train buff with some railwaymemorabilia. Having been a very regular customer 2/3 times a week I had a really bad experience here which has put me off returning. Some foul mouth guys and a constantly whining dog spoilt my quiet pint and then my friend was refused entry to join me as he had his 16 year old son with him. I understand the reasons but why allow the swearing and whining? There are always a lot of dogs. The beer is good though.

Never had a more unwelcome entrance. As a family of 8 (7 being over 50 and the youngest 17 wanting a soft drink) We had just stepped through the door and were rudely and abruptly told that the 17 year old had to get out of the pub and also could not have a soft drink stood outside either! I presume it was the owner who spoke to us in such a cocky cleaver manner, he was just a plain rude obnoxious. We all immediately left to more catty comments from him. What a disgrace of an establishment!!

Greeted by a rude owner who demanded to see ID for out 19 year old (which was fine) but then bizarrely accused us of trying to hide our 17 year old. I understand that the pub may not allow 18 year olds on the premises. He could have simply explained this but chose to be confrontational. Several of the customers came out and helpfully advised us where else we could go. Will spend my money elsewhere where establishments treat customers with respect.

Interesting little micro-pub so close to the railway that it vibrates when trains pass at speed! Beer quality and variety is consistently excellent. Unfortunately the bar staff are unpredictable: occasionally a warm welcome is received, but at too many other times their attitude borders on being sarcastic, aggressive and frankly rude. A few lessons in simple bonhomie would not go amiss: if you don't like the general public, then don't opt for a career in the hospitality sector. Overall it's a bit cliquey and non-regulars seem somewhat unwelcome.
