Great service good food and friendly staff highly recommended

Fantastic food & ale.A must visit.

Really nice place, great food, great ale and lovely service, if a little slower than expected, but still friendly. Village pubs are generally good locations and nothing anybody can really complain about about the drive to get to them.

2nd time we have been here and great as always. Food and drink good value and dog friendly.

Flying visit for Sunday roast. Very tasty and the turkey was perfectly cooked. Shame we didn’t have time for desert. Staff were very friendly and welcoming especially George. Thank you

Well what can I say what a superb pub with good traditional food. We went for our anniversary Sunday lunch. The experience was exceptional and will definitely be booking to stay here in the Future. This is how all old English pubs should be. A special mention the man who looked after us (Cockney lad) who was genuinely one of the nicest hosts I have ever met . Thanks again and see you soon.

What a little gem situated in a beautiful little village.the Cross keys is like a tardis with rooms off as you enter.there is a great outdoor drinking area,a function room and a lounge room.great selection of drinks.we didn't eat here this time but what I saw come out looked great. Also had football on the TV. Definitely be back.

I’ve been there a few times, great food, the staff are so lovely and welcoming. Inside is so warm and it’s friendly to dogs as well. Lovely little pub and there is so much history to it, it’s incredible.

We stayed 2 nights as a family and celebrated a family wedding in their function room. Staff and owners all lovely, nothing was too much trouble. We had the pub and accommodation for us to use and get ready for the big day. Fantastic food and the inn has kept its charm and character. Highly recommend.

Popped in for a couple of pints but ending up having great Pizza freshly cooked in an outdoor oven and a wonderful lady singer. Excellent service and great friendly staff.

One of my aims was to eat in this lovely little pub. We visited a while ago and because my grandparents use to live around the corner in the Boscobel, it reminded me of my childhood, I spent many Sundays at King's Cliffe. The food was lovely, my roast was nicely cooked, no problems on that front..... The landlord was quite interested in my childhood chat. I told him there were several pubs in the village as my dad use to drink in them... Think about 6 of them. As we left there were a few pictures on the wall reminding people of how this beautiful little village once was. Good food, dog friendly and a lovely welcome.

Lovely Sunday lunch in a quaint old fashioned pub

Chose to eat at The Cross Keys by chance as we were visiting nearby and glad that we did. The Sunday roasts were beautifully cooked and really tasty. Friendly staff and lovely local atmosphere. The car park is small but pretty easy to park outside. Will definitely go again when in the area.

Great place to stay. Could only stay for one night but would have stayed longer if we had the time. Very friendly staff Good breakfast aswell, and a lovely village.

Had a lovely few days staying at the caravan and motorhome site. Lovely walk through Fineshade forest to King's Cliffe where there's a gem of a pub The Cross Keys. Lovely landlord and landlady. Great beer and food and nice locals! Will definitely go back even if the slightly dark walk through the forest with a slightly inebriated husband was eventful lol!

Friendly welcoming pub with a good selection of indoor and outdoor seating. Delicious food with a good variety of traditional boxed ciders, as well as a good on pump selection. Well worth a visit and I would definitely return.

Wow what a lovely pub and the food is amazing

Proper pub! We went for a Sunday roast and had a lovely meal and a couple of local beers, everyone was very friendly and we enjoyed every minute. We we're staying at the local campsite which is a good hour walk with a dog and will go back later in the year

Lovely old inn, sympathetically refurbished. Breakfast was scrummy and very satisfying. Naz couldn't have made our stay any better.

Nice little pub in King's Cliffe. Service was fast and friendly. It was also pretty quiet when we arrived but had started filling up as we were nearing the end of our meal. A few more vegetarian options on the menu would be needed to entice a second visit.

This is a very homely inn. Not the most glamorous if you chose to sit outdoors but the food is exceptionally good. I can recommend the steak and ale pie and steak and kidney suet pudding. The team are very friendly and the service efficient. Highly recommended.

The pub is under new management since we last visited and we were so happy with the food, the service and the all the team are lovely! The covd measures are being met and we felt safe and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Had a very tasty meal in nice surroundings

We did a nice 6 mile Bank Holiday circular walk from the Cross Keys. The pub has a nice selection of 3 ales. The two I tried were in top condition. This was our first and only Eat out to help out meal. The food was OK, and they had one Vegan option of Bankok Bad Boy Spicy vegetable & red lentil crumb burger & chips. It was certainly good value with the discount, but even without price are reasonable. The pub had good Covid measures in place and we felt safe. We had the snug to ourselves & we arrived during a quiet time mid afternoon. The staff were welcoming and friendly, including dogs. Recommended. The walk was very nice too from the book Northamptonshire walks for all ages.

Visited this place for tea with friends last night and it was very pleasant, staff friendly and food was good. They went out of there way to make a mixed grill which was really good of them. well worth a visit if you are hungry and in the area.

Absolutely lovely take away meal. My son follows Kings Cliffe bakery on Facebook. This is where we heard about The Cross Keys inn doing a take away / delivery service whilst the pub closures are enforced. We don’t go to pubs very often so it was really nice to get a pub meal delivered to your door step. Will definitely be ordering again. The vegan bad boy burger, the fish and chips & the Steak and ale pie were all delicious Thanks.

Cosy, friendly pub in a lovely old building. Good range of drinks including spirits and independent beers. As of late 2019 has changed hands to a new landlord. Very pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Comfortable surroundings including some interesting historic touches such as a coal fire, carved stone hearth and information about the village's history. Situated in a beautiful historical village which is worth a visit and has some lovely nearby walks.

Lovely old village pub that is clearly an important part of the community. 3 real ales on, 2 local and an excellent Ghostship. They do food but cant comment. Great stop if staying at Stamford caravan club site.

The steak & kidney pudding was good but otherwise rather over priced standard pub food. There's a nice garden overlooking the canal in five weather although the interior of the pub is a bit gloomy.

Recommend, first class food, first class service, first class staff. A most enjoyable evening with my family.

Had afternoon tea here today. Four of us £7.50 per head. Disappointing to be honest. Finger sandwiches thin and filling fell out. Chocolate fudge cake looked and tasted almost not cooked. Cream in the scones was from a can, not fresh clotted cream as you'd expect. For the price you'd expect much better quality, quantity and presentation.

Lovely place steeped in history. Loads of photos dating back to late 1800s to early 1900s. Rooms are fit for purpose. Beds comfortable. Breakfast 1st Class. Great value for money. A young in house chef produces excellent food. Had a sample of a beef hot pot he was preparing for the evening, flavour was excellent. Try a game of cheese and skittles a pub game I had never heard of, but after some research dates back many years. Highly recommend if your looking for some where to stay.

Lovely meal, although only 1 meat dish (Lamb) on the carvery, but was offered a hotpot dish which was very tasty, sweets were also delicious. Would go again.
