As visitors to the area we popped in to be nosey and were so impressed with the welcoming warm atmosphere that greeted us inside. The cream tea was perfect, beautiful homemade scone and playing scrabble infront of an open fire with refreshments was so relaxing, we loved how there were so many zonal areas to the cross keys with plenty to keep both kids and adults entertained and the secret garden at the rear is stunning, we will be back for sure thankyou very much.

Fantastic stop off on our way to Lake Vyrnwy. Coffee was top quality and the toasted tea cake was spot on. Service excellent. The interior is amazing - great community feel. Particular mention to the person who served our coffee who was training - brilliant job! If we are passing we will certainly call again.

Such a wonderful service and place. Highly recommend. We ordered an afternoon tea for ten people to takeaway - the food was absolutely delicious, all dietary requirements catered for with such thought (vegan and gluten free) and the service was helpful, friendly and efficient.

This is such a brilliant place to come for cream tea. The owner taught our big group from the manor house about how the pub got its name and told us scriptures from the bible. We felt very welcome and included and the scones were divine.

Lovely little cafe based in an old pub. Great sofas to sprawl on and nice and cool on a hot day. Sandwiches were excellent, served by a charming young woman. Very good ice cream too. Highly recommended.

What an amazing place this is! We were greeted with such a warm welcome and seeing that my friend and I had our little ones with us, we were shown straight to their sensory room, which is amazing! Toys, lights, beanbags, chalkboards, just to name a few bits. Kids sorted, now for us mumma's. The coffee and cakes were delicious! This is such a versatile place and such a community driven venue. They have so much going on it's just awesome including a community kitchn for those struggling. If you haven't been then you really should!

What an absolutely lovely place. Turned up on a very wet Tuesday to be greeted with a warm smile and to be told that everything was free and we were just to make a donation. The food was lovely and everyone was welcoming. Warmed us up on a miserable day. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Chanced across this lovely place late afternoon, we were immediately welcomed by the friendly, informal staff (no pretentiousness here), enjoyed a really delicious home-made meal, the vegan chilli was so tasty, the salad with char-grilled veg was delightful and beautiful presented. It is such a lovely setting with an open fire, lots of local produce used and very reasonably priced, highly recommended.

Lovely local server. I had the vegetarian curry, which was (surprisingly) brilliant! Homemade, and tasted fresh and well-balanced spices- unusual for a vegetarian meal. Husband had ham, egg and chips. Chips were crispy, and ham was a generous portion, tasty and thick-cut. 😋 2 slices of ham, and 2 eggs. Great 👍

We were staying in Hay and Drover offer the only charger for electric vehicles in the town (and it's free). They were generous with their suggestions of using it overnight. They sell maps for local road and MTB rides too, so after we'd been out on one, we stopped by for a coffee and cake. They sell energy bars and gels too, if you're stocking up before or during a ride. A very friendly team!
