What not to say about this shop? It has all you desire for a delicious meal, snack or a coffee/tea. Sabrina the owner makes all the wonderful food by herself (and making therefor very much hours that people don't know about). Thumbs up for her!!! Also the staff (Roy and Bradley) is friendly and helpful.

Cannot fault the food quality and flavours BUT: they ran out of bread before 1.30pm and this is a bakery! OK it was market day and school holidays but market day comes once a week and school holidays a few times a year so they shoud have been better prepared; food labels illegible. Surely they must be fed up of repeating what things are time after time. Get them typed or written more legibly, PLEASE! they shut at 4pm. A place that serves food and tea and cakes shutting at 4pm! So realistically you would need to be in there before 3.30 to enjoy tea and cake in the afternoon and that really is a bit early. 4pm close and on a market day in the school hols. Not really good enough.

a group of 10 of us visited the town yesterday and wanting to ensure that we had a good lunch, 3 of us broke away from the main party and came here. A mistake. We should have turned round when we walked downstairs and it was chilly. But we ordered (no chips, the fryer had broken). My wife had a Welsh rarebit which was good. I had a sausage roll which wasn't and we both had a scone which tasted fine but didn't have any currants. And then a huge pot of tea which was weak and by the time it had brewed was cold.

What's so special? I don't understand the good reviews about this place. It's basic overcooked goods. Pastry is rock hard.. sandwiches are on sawdust bread. Dryer than a nuns private parts. Overpriced drinks and staff who stress when 2 customers want to order. This is a below average bakery in a rubbish village with no competition. All hype, but under delivers. If you want sandwich or a dry pizza, allow aboutb25 minutes.

Saturday nights will never be the same again without pizza from Blasau Deli! Sabrina's pizzas are excellent. The base is just the right thickness and crispness and her toppings are very different. There is an option to create own toppings too. Personally love the Blasau and the Sicilia. There are 23 to choose from on the take away menu. During the week there are lots of delicacies to choose from in the Deli counter and all are delicious. Vegetable "strudels", apple strudel, quiches, pulled pork "pies", lamb pasties and loads more. Choose of cheeses and breads are marvellous too. I am definitely Sabrina and her team at Blasau Deli's No.1 Fan. They have a great selection of gluten free cakes, which are not just the usual dry sponge but cheesecakes, brownies, lemon slices... The coffee is good and very reasonably priced at £1.60 for a cappuccino. The gluten free bread used for my toastie was a pleasant surprise. Just minutes away from MOMA, across the street, is this wonderful cafe with the most delicious toasties, sandwiches and cakes. Seating downstairs is small with just a few tables. We were seated in the far inner corner, next to an old fireplace decorated with a horseshoe and a saddle, and nearby, in a small stepped alcove, was the most amazing collection of porcelain teapots. The beamed ceiling is very low so mind your head. We ordered three toasties and a soup, a pot of tea and a flat white. Prices were very reasonable. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We had a choice of granary, brown or sweet potato bread for our toasties. The "small" portion came with coleslaw and was already more than sufficient by our standards. The teacups and saucers, bowls and plates were mismatched, but beautiful porcelain. It made for a rustic homely setting. We enjoyed the meal very very much !P.S. : There was a sign in the upstairs dining area that read : "You do not need to be crazy to work here. We'll train you." They have a sense of humour too !

All this cost just £32 including drinks which were also excellent. We'll definitely be calling again.

Delicious selection of homemade breads, cakes and quiches and other delights - vegan friendly too! Also has a deli and coffeeshop (didn't have time to visit this)! Definitely worth popping in.

Love this place, particularly the lamb oggies, but to be honest it's all great, sweet or savory. Beautiful freshly prepared pastries, pies, quiches, cakes and bread, all with a welsh Italian twist, served in a quirky atmospheric environment on bone china crockery. Not your usual cafe fare. Try it!

Very wet day but a warm welcome from the lovely lady at the counter. Lovely strong coffee and fabulous strudel. So tasty we came back later and took home some home made quiche tiramisu and custard slice. What a treat everything was scrumptious.

Their home-made food & breads looked really lovely but we only had take away cakes which were very good. Large portions & very tasty, every thing was marked up with main ingredients and if veggie/vegan and there was a good selection of both. There is a small café downstairs which seemed very popular and an equally compact deli upstairs, not obvious from outside, but the shop is very small, crowded and chaotic, there were queues out of the door to get the take away food as they only had 1 harassed member of staff serving, not great on market day in peak season.

As a family we have been coming to Borth, Machynlleth and Aberystwyth for many years; Blasau is our new favourite. Its owner is Italian and is a wonderful woman - think she is called Sobrina. We had the lamb burgers which were delicious - they come in home made bread buns. The coffee is also fantastic. The deli has a fantastic selection especially the spinach fritata. Sobrina gets up every day to cook at 4 am and it shows. GO AND EAT HERE - you won't be disappointed. Tim xx

My husband and I often stop at Blasau to pick up sandwiches for our weekly picnics in Aberystwyth. You can choose between small and large but large is enough to feed two people (and we both have very healthy appetites)! The prices are extremely reasonable and the quality is top-notch.

Had a 20oz rump steak and a pint. Food was really good, steak was tender and cooked perfectly, staff were friendly and welcoming. Very cosy and comfortable place with a stunning view. No faults

Lovely local server. I had the vegetarian curry, which was (surprisingly) brilliant! Homemade, and tasted fresh and well-balanced spices- unusual for a vegetarian meal. Husband had ham, egg and chips. Chips were crispy, and ham was a generous portion, tasty and thick-cut. 😋 2 slices of ham, and 2 eggs. Great 👍

Food and service great. Doggy friendly in the bar area as well. Only down is no car park area but otherwise great.
