Great secret pub, one of George Harrison's old watering holes, Nice reasonable prices and great beer. Could be a contender for a fave pub

Before starting a ten days holiday in Benidorm my twin brother and I took a couple of days off work to visit some of the great pubs our city is justifiably famous for, at the top of our list of pubs to visit was The Crocodile Pub, been here many times over the years, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this great city centre pub, housed in the beautiful and historic Pekin House, interior is dark and inviting, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, dark wood features abound throughout this pub, wonderful evocative decor and furnishings, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their courtyard, its just a great pub to unwind in. We ordered beers from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we sat out in the courtyard were we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. My beer was really good, a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a delicious thirst quenching beer and sat with my twin brother, best beer companion in the world. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Crocodile Pub we had a great time. The Crocodile Pub is easy to locate along Harrington Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till 11pm. A wonderful pub in my opinion, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

The Crocodile Pub is a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip into Liverpool City Centre I take, an absolutely fantastic pub that offers a warm welcome and serves great beverages. I love the look of this pub, the interior is as traditional as it gets, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, tv's and big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their wonderful courtyard and housed in the fantastic looking Pekin Building. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a roasting hot Wednesday afternoon, we track and traced and sanitised our hands and we decided to sit in their courtyard, a very pleasant young lady served us a Tetley Brewery bitter each ,served in pristine condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the sunshine 🌞 while we sipped our bitters 🍺. My bitter was really good, a rich, smooth bitter, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma, on a hot afternoon a totally refreshing brew, it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying a delicious brew and being with my twinny. We really enjoyed our bitters in here before we moved on and as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Crocodile Pub is easy to locate along Harrington Street. A superb veggie breakfast avocado; halloumi; spinach in a Hollandaise sauce; beans; gorgeous toast. Good portion size - 5 stars. Lovely deli. Everything freshly prepared. Homemade bakery. I also, on recommendation used them for an event for cakes - so delicious. Well Done. Great to have a high quality local place to go for good food.

The Central Pub is a pub I always look forward to visiting on any trip to Liverpool City Centre I take. An old established Victorian era pub, interior is superb, dark wood features abound throughout this pub, great mirrored walls ,an eye catching serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, big screens to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and when the weather is good outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Ranelagh Street, its just a great pub to unwind in. We were here just before closing time,we luckily managed to get a pint of beer from Carling Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and went over the great day out we had just enjoyed while sipping our beers. I like this beer, its a golden, light and hoppy lager style beer bursting with taste and very easy to drink especially when served freezing cold as in this pub. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to The Central Pub we had a great time. The service at this event was par excellence. The room was spacious and yet the people did not feel isolated. The colour scheme of the furnishings was conducive to a relaxed atmosphere and the room was light, airy and fresh. There was a wide variety of hot and cold food, professionally presented and enjoyed enormously by all the guests, so much so that at the end of the afternoon no food remained!!! All the staff on duty were most helpful, approachable and accommodating, and many thanks to John for displaying the banner of photographs in a prime position, out of harm's way!!! I was very happy with the overall cost of the event, which was most reasonable. In conclusion, this was a very enjoyable occasion and I would not hesitate to recommend the RAFA Club in Kirkby most highly.
