Visited the Cove Bar for lunch Sat 13th July, have been here a few times in the past, unfortunately, service is very hit and miss which is disappointing. Met by a young lady (black uniform) at the door whose mannerism was quite abrupt. We were seated, given menus and waited quite some time before anyone came to take our drinks and food order, eventually a male waiter took our orders. Part of the food order arrived fairly quickly as I presumed because they were open cold sandwiches. Our drinks still not arrived. We were half way through our meal but still not received the full order, I called a waitress over, she said she would sort it, some time went by before the sides were delivered to our table, we were not asked if we needed any vinegar or sauces etc. Very very poor service for such a lovely venue, disappointing.

Was staying in the hotel with family so had lunch here the first day. The bar is beautiful and gorgeous views of the bay. I had the steak Sandwhich and it was one of the best I’ve had. Fresh ingredients and lovely staff. Would definitely come again

I haven’t been here since before COVID and it has gone downhill if our experience was anything to go by. It was an exceptionally hot day in the outdoor area as as we had a small dog we had to sit outside. They had umbrellas but couldn’t get anyone to put them up in the time (they were mechanical ones) we were there. We weren’t alone with problems as others were uncomfortable too. When the food arrived it was shockingly poor. I had the duck and it was a tiny portion and had clearly sat under a heat lamp for ages. The kids had chicken Goujons which were over cooked and tasteless. Even the chips were pretty much raw. Only saving graces were the views (as always) and the girls serving were lovely and courteous. I have been coming here since it was built so I can confidently say the resturaunt has gone downhill hugely and it’s probably the only time I haven’t left a tip as I felt robbed already when I left.

You must go here as it is a little out of the way, yet really nice food with nice attentive, helpful staff. Go along Station Road to get to it, or cross the bridge from the railway station.

Layout again was a problem just like the zoo itself for people in wheelchairs due to Buggies and layout of tables etc. Hot food was limited menu a little pricey. My personal opinion maybe have somew

Architecture was impressive but food was disgusting. Have been to other Wetherspoons which have been good. Wouldn't touch this one with a 10 ft bargepole
