The Courtyard Brasserie & Bar in Perth & Kinross

Been here quite a few times now. It always has a good chilled vibe and the foods been excellent.

Cold smoked salmon as a starter, quite ok but the slices were really thick and there was a lot of brown slag. I only ate tuna bread, with fries and a small salad as a side dish. The bread itself was quite good, quite fresh thanks to the lettuce leaves. The fries were dry and tasteless. The pieces of bell pepper in the salad were slimy, not fresh. My friend ate someone's beef pie, would have liked more flavour. The asparagus-cauliflower side dish was not good, a strange aftertaste in the cauliflower.

A great location for an extensive lunch. Even for the English standard, a little too much oil in the Mac n cheese, but still tasty.

I booked a table here for Friday lunchtime as I have visited many times previously. The staff all welcomed us as we arrived and promptly taken us to our seats. The drinks and food arrived promptly and was just what we wanted at a great price also. If your out on a run as we were, drop in here for lunch prior to moving on for the rest of your journey. You won't be disappointing.

We had high hopes for our meal here based on other reviews. However our meal was disappointing. The Thai Green Chicken Curry was incredibly salty with very little chicken. In addition, one of our party had garlic bread with their meal which consisted of the crust from a sliced seeded loaf, toasted with garlic butter. For the price, the meal wasn’t worth it and with better places to eat in the area, we won’t be returning. Service was forgettable and, whilst there seemed to be a better atmosphere in the bar area, we were seated in the farthest corner of the restaurant with no one else in there.

Stopped at The Courtyard today. Soup and sandwich lunch was lovely. The red pepper and tomato soup and the ploughman’s sandwich was perfect 👌🏻

My wife and I visited here for an evening meal during a holiday in the area. Nice enough surroundings and a lovely warm fire on the go. I ordered steak pie with potatoes and vegetables, which was poor. Reminded me of a school dinner, boil in the bag vegetables and potatoes, a puff pastry lid on some steak and gravy filling. Perhaps it was just my choice of main, but I would not return.

Music was too loud for the daytime

The food was good but the girl who served us needs a lot more training in customer service. We were planning to spend our evening in there, but her manner was appalling. She even tried to take our plates when we hadn't even finished our meals. When we asked for the bill, she loudly dropped it on the table. We felt totally unwelcome by her though the other staff were lovely.

Delicious food, good service, friendly staff, absolutely recommended.

Visited twice for dinner during a week's stay about 7 miles away. Thoroughly enjoyable meals.

Please do not take you child here if they have a disability. The treatment of a ASN child is awful and telling the family at 15.50pm when they are nearly finished their meal that they need the table back for a booking at 7.30pm, is downright awful. Staring and point from the bar forgetting we can see you right back. Hats off to the main blonde hair woman (staff member) with the green dress for allowing the my child to hold your hand and welcoming us into the establishment sorry your other members of staff let you down. Please give the staff training in tolerance and equality as it hard enough to find the confidence to attend such places in fear of excatly this treatment.

Manger was so rude and for the waiters they could of been a bit happier. No nice welcome or nothing, all we got was "can we help" in a rude tone as if to say why are you here, obviously we are here to order. Teach your manger how to serve properly, get a new manger did even ask how the food was...... and well the food is another story. Garlic bread that was a joke servied on a slice of brown bread with garlic butter, mac and cheese was not cheese literally white sauce and covered in oil and the salad on the side was slimey and out of date. Check your food before you serve or customers check before you eat it. For the price of £13 you could get a better meal out of lidl or weatherspoons. Absolutely terrible do not recommend for the price of it. You'd be safer drinking from loch tay than eating here.

Went here for a meal with friends. I would recommend booking in advance. The food is good and the place is modern and popular.

The worst fish & chips I've had in Scotland, the batter was so over cooked it was like cutting into a rock, the chips were not fresh but a frozen brand. The salad was just leaves and one cherry tomato. Very very poor..

Had scampi and chips, it was lovely. Good value for money. Love that it is dog friendly.

Popped in for an early dinner, everyone agreed the food was fantastic, drinks were OK. Service was great, nice atmosphere and dog friendly in and outside. The pricing was the average for the area. The only thing that let it down a little was the cappuccino, it was more of a flat white with a dusting of chocolate. Easy 4/5 will definitely eat here again.

What a wonderful find. Poy our waitress was super friendly, and very efficient.

We booked for a special occasion and had a party of 20. Because of this they had our food pre ordered several months ago in advance yet nothing was ready. Pate with chutney was just cheap Brussels pate with branston pickle. Had to wait for ages for main food and some had to be sent back as fish batters were so burnt they couldn’t cut through it. One person had to send their steak back because it was all gristle and didn’t get it replaced until well after we had all finished. Lemon chicken pasta had no lemon and no flavour. They told us (because we had been there so long and they were struggling for tables) that they would be fine if we just decided to leave the desserts. Obviously kids wanted theirs and so did some adults so we waited, and waited until after about 30 minutes or more someone went and asked them where the desserts were . Two of us asked to get ours boxed to take away but they had said they would box it after the others had finished when we were leaving. After a while I wasn’t willing to take the chance that we might have to wait even longer after the had left so I said just to bring it with the rest. The box had ice cream in it (along with sticky toffee pudding that had changed into treacle pudding). When the person who booked it complained to the manager they were told the delay was because of the boxed desserts! I had to tell them that was a blatant lie as we were originally not meant to get our boxed desserts until after they had finished. We were in there for well over two hours yet not one person came to ask if we would like more drinks. They were so busy it would have been pointless trying to ask. The manager also had a discussion with another member of staff about having to move tables around to get more people in then, in front of us, said “When this lot leave…” obviously realising we could hear they lowered their voices. It was just after that that they said if we wanted to miss desserts it would be fine by them! First time I’ve been here and would go back to the accommodation no problem but would never dream of setting foot in this restaurant again c

Given the experience we’ve just had I couldn’t possibly recommend The Courtyard. We were one of two tables with customers in the restaurant at the time and, although our order was taken quickly, we sat and watched as other tables were served outside. After 45 minutes I asked when our food was likely to arrive and was told a couple of minutes. And……two minutes later was then told quite bluntly that they’d made a mistake and hadn’t got ours at all! However, ten minutes later it arrived and I’ve never heard such a passive/aggressive apology in my life - sorry about that but with a “you’re lucky you’re getting anything” attitude. Unbelievable! From all my other reviews you’d see that I try to be fair to all and will definitely say when we’ve had great service and great food. In this particular case, we won’t be back and that says it all.

Just went to the ice cream shop, Jones Cones. Excellent ice cream, decent size scoop! Recommended.

Really nice place. Stopped in for lunch mid afternoon, so not too busy. The service was good, a nice selection of decent beers and the food was very good indeed. The mac & cheese was properly cheesy & the chips were crispy and tasty. The fish was properly cooked, white and delicious, the chips similarly good. Definitely recommended.

Excellent coffee and cake stop for cyclists. Indoor seating (with a fire pit) and outdoor seating if the weather's good.

Last visit was 20-04-24 and I have to say it's went downhill! Food wasn't as good service was poor and prices have gone up. Would I visit again? No. I am a frequent visitor to Aberfeldy and Kenmore! But I wouldn't recommend here but I have done in the past.

Very good place and the service was on point, the food was brilliant and I would recommend to anyone looking for a good night out. And for a bonus for me they allow dogs.

Having recently moved to Kenmore via work I've been to the Courtyard a few times for food/drink,I highly recommend the venison casserole,melts in your mouth and service is excellent,I now ask for a tab as no point going up&down to the bar when service is 5 star and staff,well 5 star also and in particular, fiona a young lass who obviously enjoys her job as she's always on hand for customer needs,I myself have worked in the hospitality business my whole life and still am and I notice these things wherever I wine and dine so top marks to the Courtyard in Kenmore its a definitely highly recommended place to visit if you're in the area.

Nice reasonably priced food for lunch, well presented. I found it a bit of a black hole unless you were sitting at the big glass windows, other half like the low lighting with the open fire.......... What do I know?

We visited here yesterday (Easter Sunday), we were a party of 16 who didn’t book (which I know, as a previous hospitality worker is a rookie mistake) but the staff were incredible & offered us tables outside, which was great as the weather was beautiful! We ordered in 4 different Groups & the food came out very quickly and every meal was beautifully presented & very tasty! Service was very good & friendly considering it was a busy Easter Sunday! Finished off with a lovely Joan’s cone 😋 we travelled nearly 2 hours to get here and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

The 20% VAT not being included in the prices was a bit sneaky... Why would I not want to see the final price?

Service was very good, food was good. Atmosphere a little dark, had to use phone to read menu. Good value for money, would recommend.

We stayed at the Kenmore club for the weekend. Had a meal in the restaurant for my hubby's 70th birthday. Just want to say a huge thanks to Shannon who served 18 of us quickly and efficiently so thanks very much.

A lovely restaurant, the food is delicious and the staff are really lovely. It’s got a cosy atmosphere that is perfect on a winters day. But, be aware there is an open fire in the middle of the room.

Poor lady was pretty much serving food & drinks by herself to the whole bar. Didn't even say hi when we arrived, just completely ignored us, then a couple of mins later asked us to find a table. Service was prompt, but she wasn't happy. Not her fault at all, as she was completely run ragged, owners need more staff to help out. Another lady did appear later, but only saw her wait one or two tables. Food was fine, prices were fine. Just understaffed with stressed service.

Cosy place for a very cold January night, with subdued lighting and an open fire and enough customers to give a bit of an atmosphere. Decent food and really friendly staff. Will be back.

Portions are skimpy. Peas that arrived with the Fish and Chips were a joke -- finished them in one bite and tasted disgusting, at least three days old. Only positive was there were so few. Fish was soggy and chips mediocre. Cosy enough atmosphere but feels a bit tacky. The one saving grace was the friendly staff.

Amazing food, the burgers are delicious both the chicken and beef. The staff are very friendly and service is top notch.

Food was ok. Closed earlier than their stated hours and left us out in the cold waiting for a taxi (which was pre booked for the supposed closing time).

We visited twice during our week long holiday stay in Kenmore and preferred it to our more local bar which was about 50 paces away from our lodge. The first time was after a wet and windy walk up Drummond hill where we relished the log fire, some beer and food (haggis bon bons and Nacho's were excellent). The second was another wet walk, although this was from our lodge a mile away and was for drinks. We liked the relaxed atmosphere and fall asleep settees. Although both occasions were in the bar we would have loved to come for a meal, however never got the chance during a busy week...... Maybe next time. Edit 31/10/23 We are now on holiday 5 minutes walk away and went for dinner, loads of people dressed for Halloween. Glad we went early as most of the tables were booked, however we managed to get one and enjoyed some beer and steak pie which was really good (as other reviews also mentioned) The place was pretty packed with people (I think being Halloween) from around 5:30pm and tailed off to just a few left at 8:00pm as meals stopped at 7:30.

Had a great lunch today. The steak pie had a wonderful puff pastry top, big chunks of steak, and delicious gravy. My husband’s Smoked Mac and Cheese was also very good.

Best haddock and chips we've had in a long time. A chef that can keep the batter crisp. Not greasy. So good we went back. Friendly service, too, and all in perfect setting.

Absolutely amazing place. The staff are happy and helpful, the place itself is beautiful and the food was superb. There were 4 of us and we all had haddock and chips - the haddock was cooked to perfection. We're only 2 days into our holiday but will definitely be going again this week.

Delicious lunch and the ice cream cones served just outside (Joan's Cones) really was the nicest I've had in years.

We went to have lunch there after a hike with kids and didn’t expect much but this place is just fantastic!!! And, hands down, best pie I’ve had in my life!! Marvelous food, playground on a site, nice shop nearby, fantastic surroundings.

Great meal, Great atmosphere, pet friendly bar with covered outdoor seating available. The Steak Pie was delicious.

Really enjoy this restaurant and bar. On the latest visit had the ploughman's sandwich which was delicious and came with chips and salad. It's a great venue in colder weather with the fire on. Always visit at least once when staying at Mains of Taymouth. Only comment is the coffee can be lukewarm , so best to ask for it hotter :)

The place doesn't really have much of an atmosphere the bar area is quite dark, I generally appreciate more light when I'm dining. The food is tasty enough.

Good coffee and buns. They do meals and drinks too. Has a nice log fire in the room, lit in winter. The gift shop is great, has some excellent products.

Stopped off here for a very welcome dinner and drink after climbing a couple of Munros. It was lovely to sit out in the late evening sunshine 😃 There are many tables outside and the indoor area looks nice too. Food is ordered at the bar and then delivered to your table. Staff were very cheerful and friendly.

Food was tremendous, service was really poor. 7 in our party, took lunch orders for 6 then when it came to the final person "sorry you'll need to wait 15mins to order, kitchen too busy". All he wanted was a bowl of soup. Attitude of staff behind the bar was special, felt like they were doing you a favour by taking your order. Really poor.

The food was good, portions a bit small for the price. Service was ok, when we walked a lady put her head through a service hatch, i asked for a table to which she replied, "erm yeah go find a table". The same lady took my order at the bar, and i just felt it was all a bit too much, like hard work for her! Probably wouldn't go back.

We drove a while to get here but the food was worth it. We had steak pie and stake frites and both were amazing and decent price. Would recommend visiting for sure!

Gorgeous restaurant with a lovely choice of food and great service. They have both indoor and outdoor tables. And they have an area for entertainment and a cute playground just perfect for families. We enjoyed our Fish and chips, they were very tasty and a great portion, a must-try :)

Stopped here with the dog for a quick shop around and some coffees. Well stocked little shop and we ended up buying random food and drink items for the weekend. Even bought a bonnet for my bald heid 😂 We had some ice cream while sitting around, the servings were massive, before getting some takeaway coffees for the journey back to our lodge. The coffee was excellent and I ended up being sent 10 miles every morning to get coffees for everyone. One of the few places that actually had coconut milk !!!! Bonus.

This place in kenmore is very good,food and beer great also it has a 9 hole golf course you can have a game.291 miles from Leeds but if you like it laidback its the place for you.

Good food and very good selection of whisky and Gin. Returned yesterday. Had an excellent chicken burger in the courtyard. The staff were very friendly.

Just had a really nice evening here. Made my booking online on their easy to use portal. Definitely recommend doing this as it really looked like they were running at half capacity. Possibly suffering from the post pandemic hospitality labour crunch. In a way I would say this is good for customers as you will still get great service but also good for the staff as they're not stretched beyond limits. Really enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. Great service from the staff. Would not hesitate to recommend.
