Such a wonderful breakfast and really quite relaxing sat riverside. The staff are always really attentive and friendly and the breakfasts are scrummy!

First visit last night for a wedding anniversary and we have to say we were delighted with the staff and the quality of the food was outstanding. We had the rump steak and it was absolutely perfectly cooked. The char grilled taste was exceptional. The atmosphere was great and now the best bit - mains, a shared desert and drinks for just over £25 per head. We'll be back!!!

Such good food here, any time of day! Breakfasts are superb, and then steaks, burgers, fish, special menus added, something to suit all tastes. Brilliant staff, all of them very welcoming. Great venue for indoor eating, or outside right by the river, fab.

Just spent two hours watching the world go by and enjoying coffee and the best filled croissant I have ever tasted. Beautifully presented by attentive and courteous staff and service with a smile. I've eaten here several times and cannot fault it. I live in Bewdley and sitting outside the Courtyard is like being on holiday every day.

Awful experience here, very bad service, food took over an hour to arrive, four other people had complained about the wait before us too, no warning from staff about the wait or any apology, she just tried to make a joke about it, the table next to us had their food come out at separate times which meant they had to send it back until the meals came out together

Visited for breakfast with friends this morning who have been here in the past Whilst a fabulous location unfortunately today the food was not up the usual standard they had told me of Both breakfasts were inedible , scrambled egg was rubbery and over cooked and the toast was covered in a yellow margarine type of spread on really thin bread The dog we had with us did eat the sausage the only one who actually ate I did bring it to the attention of one of the staff but we had already paid for it and at £12 for a large breakfast it really did not represent value for money and there was no offer of any type of reimbursement or even a complimentary hot drink for example

Absolutely superb juicy rib eye steak cooked blue just as I like it. Some chefs refuse to do this but not here and it was an excellent steak washed down with a local ale.

Great service and still able to get hot drinks all evening. Nice place for a drink and a bite to eat by the river.

Came here for lunch with the family. We were very pleased with our meals. Lovely view from the window. Dog yapping at the next table half the time. It looks like a nice place to get a room we'll have to come try the breakfast and dinner menu. The brunch one passed the test. Thank goodness we were never offered dessert... The cakes did look good though.

Decent cup of tea and coffee and lovely surroundings / decor inside and out. Only half full but given a 45 minute wait time for food. Server was polite but abrupt although young male who brought order was much more polite.

For the money it was a lovely place to stay, right next to the river and handy for just about everything. The room was of a decent quality too. The music from the bar make this ideal for this who like to retire to bed later.

We had a couple of days in Bewdley, and luckily we found this place. The staff are very friendly and professional, great, relaxed atmosphere, and great, freshly prepared food. Also dog friendly. There is nothing to fault here.

Discovered The courtyard by accident. Amazing location, specially if you get a sunny day like we did. Right next to the river, amazing service. Friendly staff. Worst night I've ever spent in a B&B. Freezing cold with no heating and no breakfast (unless you're prepared to wait until after 9am).

What a wonderful lunch we had 🥰 sat by the river in the sunshine and the food was delicious, and great value for money. The service was fantastic, very friendly and welcoming.

Disgusting and rude service today, over an hour for food to arrive off brunch menu, we were the first to order and arrived in an empty restaurant. we had to take away in the end the parking ran out. Before we left we asked for a receipt and they ran out of paper! My partner explained politely and the waitress didn’t care, apologise or offer anything else. Image of the steak, NOT medium as requested and half the amount. They didn’t have any take out boxes and my mother’s meal, arrived in this condition! This used to be an amazing eatery. Now just a rip off with a waitress that has no customer service skills. EDIT: following the reply I can see that whoever has done so has brilliantly made me out to be a liar and someone that tried to leave without paying! That was not the case at all, we didn’t have our food and had to ask for it to be bagged up, so how did we try and leave without paying? The woman said there was no till roll and couldn’t give a receipt, we asked for the receipt as the bill came to an exact amount! Well done for replying with no substance at all….oh and thanks for the Tesco carrier bag from the bottom of my heart. The service was horrendous, the woman was rude and unhelpful- main reason, your staff all look miserable, perhaps address that instead of telling me the facts, when we were the ones there!

Good food and quick service. The jerk lamb was amazing! Shame about the sauce sachets and only a few options for dessert.

Had a table of 12 celebrating a birthday. The food was amazing the staff were so pleasant and accommodating. I had to phone twice before arriving and nothing was any trouble to change things around. This is our second time visiting and we will 100 be back. Thank you for making my day perfect.

Nice lunch as we enjoyed some rare February sunshine. All day breakfast was huge, good quality and very filling. Tandoori jacket potato and salad was equally yummy. Queue was busy but atmosphere was nice, reggae music chilling us out. It's so much better on the inside than it looks on the outside. Lovely friendly staff working quickly to keep everyone looked after.

Our family of seven ate here today. We all opted for the roast dinner and I have to say they that they were all perfect. Fantastic service and a great location make the Courtyard difficult to beat. We will definitely be returning

Had breakfast here today , sorry wasn’t that impressed , no earl grey tea , food took a long while to come and the order was wrong , egg was Rock hard , mmmmmmm don’t think we will be going again

Nice comfortable rooms .nice decoration clean and tidy .back room has a balcony thats above and overlooking a bar called the retreat .can be a litgle noicy but not enough to keep you awake . Bed and breakfast option would of been nice .

Lovely spot next to the river. Limited menu but very happy with the food and service we received. Burgers and steak ciabatta were really tasty served with skin on fries. Tandoori chicken jacket potato was delicious. Very well priced, look forward to visiting again.

I had a lovely Sunday roast so decided to go back the same week for the steak deal on 07/012/23 my streak was lovely but I found a very long black hair on my plate , was not mine , I’m blonde , My mother in laws steak was so tough she couldn’t even cut it with a steak knife We informed the waiter who was very apologetic and asked if we wanted another one My mother in law did have another one which was exactly the same as the first one , full of gristle and really tough , obviously she couldn’t eat it . We did again tell the waiter and he again apologised but we were not offered any discount at all , we weren’t even offered a sweet I would not have given this bad review if they had attempted to offer us something in return Such a shame really because we had a lovely Sunday roast a few days before

Lovely location, had the two meat Sunday roast, husband had beef & pork with crackling, I had chicken with stuffing & pork with cracking, the small piece of chicken & pork was far too overcooked & no stuffing or crackling to be seen. Roast potatoes, carrot, parsnip, broccoli & Yorkshire pudding was nice. Did tell the waitress when asked if everything was okay on starting our meal, to be told she’ll inform the chef, Who ever plated the food would have known.

Staff very helpful and polite but they had run out of two of the four gins the offered on arrival and also one of the beers we had asked for. The food was nice but two of our party are vegetarian and there is only one vegetarian option. It’s a kind of onion bhaji in a bun and it’s very heavy on the carbs. We had a very loud sweary table next to us and we struggled to hear each other until they left.

I booked into the hotel on September 13th 2023. It was my 70th birthday and I was in Bewdley to collect a item which had bought myself for my birthday. As getting it home would involve driving at night, I decided to find a hotel for the night and drive home the following day. At very short notice manageress of hotel found me a room, ordered me a meal and pulled a celebratory pint of cider for me. the following morning I had a full English breakfast , one of the best I have ever had, I might add. Always really enjoy the food and the atmosphere at The Courtyard, in particular the specials menu although today I’ve just eaten the Monkfish curry and it was exceptional. Truly 5 stars

The good: one member of the party had one of the specials which was whole sea bream and it was cooked really well and was delicious It has a lovely spot on the river when sat outside, although there are other places further along Chips were nice, although one person couldn’t eat them because of the amount of salt put on them by the kitchen. The bad: the ploughman’s lunch was not good - the cheese came still wrapped in cling film and tasted of nothing. The bread was ok but some slices were hard, the ham was ok, the pickled onions weren’t tasty and the apple came with seeds in and already brown. One member of the group had a steak and ordered medium rare. It came out burnt on the outside and raw in the middle - as in completely raw. The person walked back into the kitchen as no staff came out at any point other than to serve the food and no one checked if the food was ok. They recooked the same piece of steak (brought out in a bowl) although all that had happened was that they had burned the outside some more, the middle was still raw. The person who had ordered it picked at the steak and gave a couple of pieces to the dog. They took it back inside as we left and said it wasn’t ok and was inedible, 3/4 of the steak was left and we were met with a disgusting attitude by a member of staff. They asked what they were supposed to do about it, we were told we “had eaten it” (despite most of it still being on the plate) and were asked who were we to comment on the cooking of the steak. If this had been a cheap lunch on the river I probably wouldn’t write this review but the steak was £24 on its own and it isn’t a cheap place in general. I recommend going a little bit further along where there are much nicer places to eat and still on the river with a lively view, don’t waste your money here.

Local to Bewdley, we've been eating at The Courtyard since it opened in 2018 and we love everything about it.......location, food, atmosphere and staff. We've always been made to feel very welcome by Antony and his team and nothing is ever too much trouble. The menu changes regularly and the latest Project Fish menu is a great addition to the main menu. We've enjoyed some really delicious fish specials in recent weeks, well presented and good sized portions and every Sunday morning we enjoy a full English breakfast. Mid week it's great to pop in for a coffee or a glass of wine. It's definitely our 'go to' place in Bewdley. What's not to like?!!

We received a lukewarm welcome and were told we could sit anywhere. It was a Saturday night, but most customers seemed to be sitting outside ordering drinks. We were given menus, but after waiting 20 minutes to order drinks, we had to ask for our order to be taken. The server apologised for the delay explaining that it had been very busy, but the kitchens were due to close soon, so it should get quieter. We ordered our food and drinks, which were brought pretty promptly. The menu choices were ok, although more American than healthier traditional/local cuisine. The restaurant has a lovely outlook alongside the river, and sitting outside to enjoy a glass of wine on a warm summer evening was very enjoyable. We would suggest checking out te menus before booking, so you know what to expect. What we ate was tasty and well cooked, but quite pricey for the type of food it is.

Coffee was rubbish, bitter. The food was a okay nothing very inspiring about the cooked breakfast. We arrived at 11:25 told abruptly food for lunch does not start until 12pm, making the service very rude. My husband wanted the breakfast which finishes at 11:30. No option of egg on it's own. The view was great. Wifi didn't work.

Wonderful and helpful staff. Good quality food. Wonderful Riverside location. Perfect for a sunny day. Would recommend the beef brisket. Chef adapted the meal to my wife's dietary requirements and was happy to discuss this with me. Our waitress Steph was so kind and helpful.

Fantastic ! Absolutely saves our evening after booking at another restaurant down the way where we were thoroughly let down we wandered up and found this little gem! Kesha served us and was absolutely lovely - Great recommendations on how many portions to have and honestly all the food we was gorgeous particularly the sticky ribs and gambas ! Popped in for a last minute meal We have dined at this place over the last four years quite a few times & to be fair always had nothing but good things to say However ! Tonight what a disappointment we ordered starters & main course the starters I could not fault but the mains really let you down I had rib eye steak with a side salad, the bacon was that hard I nearly broke my teeth My chips were hard & stone cold My blue cheese sauce was stone cold and lumpy I asked for mustard to be told no mustard, which of course I understand you can run out of these things but when your paying over a £100 for a meal it’s not what you expect & there is a Tesco local within 50 yrds the wife had sea bass that was burnt to a crisp We sent a message to the restaurant & did not even respond even though they read the message oh well!

Unfortunately I was violently ill later that evening. My husband was fine, the only dish we didn't share was the seafood salad. Such a shame, lovely atmosphere and enjoyed the food
