The Countryman in North East Lincolnshire

Poor quality very chewy rump steaks ruined the evening meal for 2 people. Need to seriously check what the meat provider is giving them and where is it from. The service with the girls was really good with them trying to resolve the issue.

Great service great home cooked food very varied menue. Always excellent and the mixed grill is probably the best in the area .

1st time visiting here we came for a day out to cleethorpes an was struggling to find anywhere gluten-free but we found this place an it won't be our last time that we visit! we was over the moon to find somewhere that does not only gluten-free but diary free too the chef came out an spoke to us saying he could make us practically anything we wanted gluten-free which made us feel so comfortable. The rest of the staff where friendly an warm welcoming 🙏

We celebrated our sister and brother in law 70th birthday on Saturday night around 20 of us the food was excellent all brought out hot and plentiful the service was fantastic highly recommended this place only put 4 🌟 because of the toilets they were abit of a let down no reflection on the food or staff though.

If your shooting for the stars at a resturant option then i wouldn’t shoot for the stars at all. If there was a option to have a negative star review then it would be atleast negative 100. 3 portions of food costs £10 and you are able to clearly see how a large portion of the food was frozen ROCK SOLID. Ordered the chili and it was so light it looks like sick with brown food colouring. Yorkshire pouding was awful along with the service, its like the workers did not even want to be there with an absaloute abomination of silence. To everyone who recommended the resturant and gave it more than 1 star you should not be able to review any resturant ever. Servers should of won the award of service with a smile because howly its like they were held at gun point whilst taking the orders. To top it all off the coca cola which is impossible to go wrong with was flat and barely held any flavour as was for the chilli.

,enjoyed a well cooked meal with family over Sunday lunch. Nice atmosphere. The clientele when we visited was of mixed ages and mostly eating. We did not visit the bar/games room.

Justin and staff provided the buffet for family and friends after our Mum's funeral. The variety, quality and freshness of the food was excellent with ample quantity per head given. We would not hesitate to recommend this venue to others.

Good food, reasonably priced, beer not to shabby either, look for the daily offer, I still go for the meat pie 🍲

Went for the festive menu, waited over an hour for our starter! I had the turkey was very bland not much taste veg was over cooked gravy was runny and tasteless pudding was fair to be honest not very festive at all ! Not worth the money either!

As a coeliac it's so hard to find gluten free food. I had fish and chips. It was as good as the normal fish and chips. Fabulous 👌

Always a good feed here. A varied menu and tasty specials offer a dish for everyone. Good beer and good service tops this pub off as one of the best in the area.

Arrived at 6pm to be told to sit down they would come to us and also take drinks order. Waited 20 mins served everyone else that came in (also serving drinks at bar ) never came over to our table. The person serving kept looking over but never came. Finally we walked out after sitting there like fools. Never again

I went to meet a friend in there we met up in the bar. It was his birthday and he was sat with a few people already. He got me a pint and it was a good one. The bar staff couldn't do enough for us. Really enjoyed myself. I stopped for 3 hours and got a taxi 🚕 home.

Went today for 2pm lunch booking. My friend had breaded chicken escalope which was huge,lovely fresh salad n chips n I had chill with half chips half rice.absolutely lovely. After we both had cheesecake ,one biscof n I had caramel n hazelnut.delicious.the place was clean,the staff were lovely and they had a good selection of food. We will be back.thank you .

Steak pies where most definitely homemade and I’ve never seen better portion sizes 😁

Went there on holiday for my daughter’s birthday. When I entered I thought chairs were dirty. Coke was flat. Lasagne was dry. Had not been cooked that day. Chips were not cooked enough and very fatty. My granddaughter could not eat sausages were grisly and hard. Staff were not friendly.

Went for a meal with my mum and children for my birthday. What a disappointment. We nearly walked out as soon as we sat down as the place looked dirty. We decided to stay what a mistake! My daughter couldn't eat her sausages as they was hard and full of grissle. The lasagne was dry, reheated and disgusting. Coke was flat.. bar staff very miserable. Toilets disgusting! We did actually complain and the owner was no where to be seen but told the poor lady at the bar to knock £2 off the bill 🙄

Had the sirloin, was fantastic with a variety of steak sauces, the lasagna was very saucy and cheesy, just how it should be. Will come again.

We decided to go somewhere new for an unplanned night out. I'm glad we chose here. The food and drink were good and good value. The Countryman offers friendly table service from tasty traditional menu with options for all tastes (and diets.)

Cold room. Waiting staff forgot about us, I eventually went to the bar to order Fish and chips were quite OK, but my wife's chicken and bacon salad was dire! Dry chicken, a simple salad with chopped up greasy fried bread all over it?? I'm assuming it was meant to be some kind of attempt at croutons ? Unfortunately, it failed miserably. We won't be back for quite some time....

Very welcoming staff, quiz Thursday night worth a visit

Food was beautifully prepared, very tasty and well cooked. Apart from the Chips which were a bit insipid. It was good value for money, portions were massive. Staff were a bit thin on the ground, but very friendly. We were sat in the Conservatory which felt a bit tatty and unloved. Apart from that we really enjoyed it !

i use this place for all my special occasions i went saturday night well discussed 3 of the party had burger and chips the burgers were very small and the chips very small portion one ordered salad with it she never got it i asked for it and it was nearly thrown at her will not be going there again

Sorry but we ate here recently and to be blunt it was awful. My partner had the pie and it was obvious it had been heated in the microwave, the pastry was tough and chewy as a result. I had a chicken dish which was very underwhelming too. We thought the pace needed a good clean and a new paint job. It's ages since we'd been there and was hoping we could add it as a new place to eat, sadly we won't be eating there again. The loos were very much in need of a clean and refurb too. I know hospitality is struggling at the moment, but really this was poor.

The fish and chips were fabulous.

Different to the usual "Pub Grub" Nothing comes from a microwave. All the meals appear cooked to order, from scratch. Seriously recommend the fish and chips.

Enjoyed a good evening here with a large group of friends. The staff were great, making sure all our requirements were met and all with a smile. Unexpected quiz too. Well done to all the staff👏👏

Food good but disabled/baby change toilet very disappointing. No automatic light came on, on entry. Absolutely freezing and in need of a good clean. Paper towels on top of windowsill.

We liked the set price menu. Before lock- down we used to do pensions lunches, but no one does them (sadly) anymore. so your set lunches are the next best thing.

Place dark, not cleanest, toilet 🤢, food poor, coke flat, won't be going back, no wonder carpark empty.

Wow! as someone who has to eat gluten free due to being coeliac, the Countryman was brilliant, so many dishes to choose from, just a shame we don't live nearer. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was lovely, fresh with good portion sizes. Sometimes when I eat out it can be disappointing as I look at the normal meals that other people get and my gf meal can be small and dry, but my gluten free meal here was just as good, thanks it makes such a difference

Bitterly disappointed, thought we'd give it a go but will be the first and last time . Home-made lasagne has got to be one of the very worst I've ever had , the meat was smeared onto the pasta ,( wipe on, wipe off) cheese sauce wasn't much thicker and then the whole dish was passed to "chef mike" too nuke within an inch of its life ! Rolled up edges, chargrilled and rubbery ..

Perfect dining experience perfect for families will be coming back here. Excellent food cooked to perfection.

food great, good deal on, Friday 2 started a d steaks foe 25 quid sting,you,on drinks qnd puddings tho as we had 3 steaks 2 started =25 the 2 pints of coke and ine jam rolls polly wich came to £40 food was decent enough. pudding was a little disspointing considering f ot was £6

We have just been to Countryman to celebrate our sisters 80th birthday and we had the most excellent experience. The staff went over and above to make her birthday special. The food was exceptional and cooked to perfection. Thank you to the backroom staff who don't always get the praise they deserve. Would we go there again YES Would we recommend YES. Well took my partner out for a birthday lunch today and had the steak, and mixed grill, well all the meat was dry the steak wasn't cooked to liking, it was all frozen meats.I can cook better than that,buy yourself a ninja cooker countryman it does better then ur chef.very disappointed. If its fresh then the chef needs to no how to cook steak medium rare it was like liver

Meal for two on a Saturday evening, busy at around 7pm. We had starters and mains and both were good, freshly cooked with the service very efficient and pleasant. We felt the pricing was good value.

I was in a party of 5 ladies 2 of which ordered Lasagne. The lasagne was totally devoid of any mince and very dry. Don't order this, very disappointing. The bar person lady seemed put-out when we asked for the credit card reader to be brought to our table so we could pay individually. Not a good night for all concerned. Won't be going back.

Just bobbed in for a drink, was happy surprised how good the atmosphere was… Food looked great.. will go back and eat next time… service with a smile and a sunny terrace. Would be nice with a few more flowers about but otherwise enjoyed!

Lovely pub, found by chance. We were holidaying in Cleethorpes and wanted somewhere to watch the formula 1. The staff were so lovely and very accommodating. Prices were very reasonable. We had a roast which I thought was lovely, but slightly mixed reviews from our party of 6. My daughter had beef and it was very chewy and grisly. My son had a burger which he said was great. Would visit again if we are ever back up your way.

Friendly atmosphere and clean/ tidy however the food was very bland and requires everything salting. The service was also extremely slow and we waited 10 mins in between first dessert and last one being served to us. Disappointing as we was hoping we had a new favourite for our walks out

Tried this restaurant last night for the first time after a recommendation. What a lovely surprise to find a restaurant without loud music or multiple tv screens showing sport from every angle. Nice varied menu at reasonable prices, and food was cooked well and very tasty. All empty plates going back to the kitchen ------- we will return
