What a fantastic place the staff were all top class, we have been there a few times now and always been looked after superbly , my wife and I ordered a Sunday roast WOW! if you have not tried the corner house roast I would highly suggest you do but you need to book it as it is very popular, the bar and drinks also superb and a lovely outside garden , thank you all for looking after us both so well

I was looking for somewhere to bring my 90 year old father for lunch - this place was close to his care home in Worthing so we thought we'd give it a go. Really nice atmosphere - fire was lit which was lovely. Staff were an absolute delight - my father has early dementia - the staff could not have been kinder or more patient with him. Ebenezer was main waiter although we interacted with a few staff. All of them were utterly charming helpful and pleasant to deal with - Ebenezer is an absolute star. The Sunday roast was excellent. Good quality and huge plates - such that we had no room for pudding. Really nicely done - beef was perfect, veg was properly cooked and the chicken was excellent. It was a lovely lunch and really good value. We will definately come back here for Sunday lunch. Well worth a visit. Staff first rate.

We arrived on spec on Sunday 26th Feb - no tables inside but garden tables available and we decided to give it a go. When we ordered (at 15:15) we found that the beef had run out - disappointing but given it was busy was not too concerned. At 15:50 we asked where the food was to be told that 'its being plated now' - at 16:00 went in again to demand our money back - manager spoke to the bar staff and then headed off to the kitchen (never saw her again, and she never spoke to us at all). While the staff was organising the refund the food was delivered. As I say the food was OK (although we had to eat fairly quickly as the outside heating is general and a bit naff tbh). No one apologised for the very long delay in food delivery - neither did they explain why the table next to us that ordered within a few minutes of us, received their food, ate and left before ours had been delivered. Its the lack of customer care thats made me write this review - ie the fact that there was none. At one point (I think when we chased the food at 15:50) we were told that the kitchen was short staffed, we should have been told when we enquired about a table. I doubt if we will go back.

We booked a table for Sunday lunch as a celebration lunch and although the food was great and wine was also good, our experience was dampened by the need for us to vacate the table quickly. We felt rushed and unappreciated by the waiting staff. They took 50 minutes to come and take our order then to be told we only had 1 hour to eat and get out out. We were with my elderly mother in law who eats slowly! We were told that if we order dessert we’d have to eat it quickly and go. I understand as a business they should be packing tables and making the most of the Sunday lunch rush. But if you need the table back within a certain time, there should be fast service to begin with to ensure everyone has a good experience. We paid £200 for our Sunday lunch and left feeling unappreciated. Such a shame as we love this pub but we won’t be going back on a Sunday again.

I’ve eaten a handful of times and The Corner House , Staff always lovely, the drinks are good ( so I’ve been told only I don’t drink ) and the food is generally very good. But something wasn't firing at all today, it felt rushed, messy and thrown together, . Over roasted spuds, cauliflower cheese looked like an afterthought in a microwave ans a Yorkshire pud so dry it crumbled to dust on first cut. That is almost an aside, the whole experience lasted barely 35mins from sitting down to leaving .. May give it a miss for a while.

We were a group of 11 who we’re staying in Worthing for a special birthday celebration, and wanted to finish our stay with a Sunday lunch on the way home, The Corner House was mentioned in our Air B n B guide so we booked it, right from the booking process the staff were fabulous to deal with, on the day we were made so welcome, the service was considerate, friendly and to a really high standard, and the food was outstanding, all our meals arrived together, the food was hot, delicious, imaginative and beautifully presented. Thank you to all at The Corner House, you finished our weekend beautifully.

My new neighbour and I had endured 2 x disastrous outings, dinner in Worthing with the worst customer service I have experienced in a very long time and a band in Brighton whose sound engineer had gone to sleep and the band left their enthusiasm at home. This was a 3rd time lucky for us last Sunday lunchtime with my lovely dad. I use to work next door to the pub a few years ago so knew it well but it was a first for my new friend. The staff were just - cool 😎, friendly, relaxed and efficient. A lovely warm welcome was received and our request to move away from the open door so my dad didn’t get cold was easily solved. Maria came to take our drinks order and considering my friend only wanted a tonic water she went into detail of every flavour available, she was adorable and I knew we’d stuck gold on our 3rd attempt. The lunches were presented beautifully and make you eat with your eyes before you start. No soggy boiled to death veg here, every single item on the plate was flavoursome and cooked to perfection, my nutroast was banging.. 😍 We asked for an affogato for dessert- not on the menu 🙈 and of course it was no problem, Maria chatted to us all and we basically put the world to tights. Visited this charming Pub in Worthing. Good selection of lagers and local ales, the current menu is understandably limited at this time, however there was a choice of specials. I opted for the steak and ale pie. My goodness, a proper (actual) pie, cooked to perfection and the flavours were beautiful and so well balanced. Then there was the mash.... worth a visit alone. I've heard a lot of good things about this place for both drinks and food, so came along for an evening meal with family members.Ordered 2 burger meals and a children's fish goujons meal.+ they swapped the children's side salad for peas, no problems, and the peas were not over cooked+ onion relish in burger (debatable on the description of this) was tasty- both burgers were extremely salty- one burger was raw inside, which, coupled with the taste (of extreme saltiness, and burger sauce on top of blue cheese - why???) meant the burger was inedible - no gherkins with burgers, as stated on menu- skin on fries were served, not straw fries as stated on the menu- child's fish goujons were dripping in fat, to the point I had to mop it up from the plate+ raw burger was removed from bill+ 2 complimentary drinks were given- no apology was offeredThoroughly disappointed with the whole experience, and food. Left feel dissatisfied from a taste and also satiety perspective.

Eating our really is a great due to my partner being made redundant due to Covid without furlough pay since February! The meal itself was nice, couldn’t fault it. My only feedback was that I wish it’d have either come with a bit more gravy or pour your own gravy boats. Or peas as an option as personally I don’t like broccoli. Sunday’s is roast only; set menu. chicken beef vegan or lamb (which was out of stock 2 hours into service) At first the waitress seemed on it, she’s polite and knowledgable - it’s clearly a busy day for the pub, yet after a while of not being looked at or being walked away to tend to the door mid sentence whilst trying to order your food or drink gets a bit off putting... What really did it for us was that whilst we appreciate there is a time limit to the table in “normal times” or COVID, we were JUST tucking into our roast when a slate slab reservation got donked onto the table of two next to us. We were told don’t worry they’re running late but immediately I was filled with anxiety. Where they going to be sat THAT close to us??! (20cm away) Or does it mean that we being kicked out in 25 minutes completely. Whilst it could be luck that others have walked of the street, got a better table (we had everyone struggling to get past us (not two meters!) and the door opening all the time on a cold day) they were also allowed to stay 30 minutes more than us. I had enjoyed my drink and dinner but the feeling of being rushed did not allow for us to have another drink and enjoy our chat and stay at the cornerhouse. We did bring this up with the waitress and whilst she was kind enough to give us a discount on our bill for being rushed, when we got up to leave the people for our table were there - they never were going to be late, it was just a bit of a lie. What’s to be learnt from this? People don’t like to be rushed. We spend good money to want to feel of value. Had we had called over a week ago and knew we’d have to rush out we would have booked elsewhere. Do I think this place is Covid safe? As cross infection manager.. I feel a bit more could be done. With hand washing. On arrival for everyone and I’d like to see the staff washing their hands more! It made me a bit nervous seeing the staff handle cards for behind the bar and then bring out beers with their hands around the top the next minute.. hand pumps on another local pubs table was a nice touch - people still cough, sneeze, pick their nose or pick their phones as soon as they sit down - therefore decontaminate themselves - so it would be a nice touch to have that option.. also whilst most wore a mask on arrival a few did slip the net.. and being a small pub where the 2m could not always be observed it was a bit disconcerting. I’d like to return for the food one day maybe.

Visited on the spur of the moment to have a family lunch. We were met and briefed on Covid-19 requirements at the door and felt very welcome from the start; an easy place to drink and eat. The team made us feel hugely welcome. Food from the menu was superb and the large bowl of Chicken Wings managed to defeat our son who has a voracious appetite! A lovely family afternoon; thank you to everybody at The Corner House for a lovely afternoon in the sunshine.

We booked our table for the 3 o’clock sitting on a rainy Sunday afternoon in February and what an amazing atmosphere it was. Log burner on, plenty of brilliant staff, families, couples and friends all enjoying a relaxed drink or meal. We had the roast beef and chicken. Safe to say everything from the meat to the veg to the huge Yorkshire puddings were spot on. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend for either food or drink.

There were 16 of who went here on a works night the food is great and excellent value for money but the only criticism is that we pre ordered our food to save time but it came in drib and drab so by the time some of us got our meal some people had finished there’s . But overall the service and food were good

A welcoming pub/restaurant with a really tasty Sunday lunch and good service; the two beers from the Harvey’s brewery are a great draw; the only negative was that the front door wasn’t shutting easily so let in a cold draught, but that should be easily fixed.

My heavy disappointment in response to an uninspiring menu was turned around by the fish and chips. The battered fish is probably the best I've ever had. Pleasant ambience, reasonable beer choice, very enjoyable lunch overall. Lack of choice on the menu prevents a five-star award, but if you're thinking of lunching here you will enjoy yourself.

I was helping my friend and her husband moving some furniture down to Worthing as they want to buy a house here. We stopped for something to eat at the Corner House. What a lovely pub, the outdoor space, although it was January was beautiful and I can imagine in the Summer this gets very popular. "Dolly" was our waitress, she couldn't do enough for us and knew everything about the menu if you needed to ask questions. The food was amazing and apparently, even though our tummies were full they are well known for the stick toffee pudding which I will need to try on another occasion as we couldn't fit anymore in. Thoroughly recommend. Look forward to going again as soon as we can.

Nice pub and efficient staff. Shame the owners seem oblivious to fixing the front entrance door. A south westerly wind continously blows the door open leaving customers or staff trying to keep the door closed. Particularly annoying if one is dining or standing at the bar waiting to be served. Beer cask range sticks mainly to Harvey's and a few Sussex brews.

I have had three meals in here. One Sunday lunch and two evening meals.I like the place and the ambience. By far the best meal I had was the sausages and mash.The Sunday lunch I thought was expensive for what it was. It may be the going price but you can get much better elsewhere.Friends had raved about the thai fishcakes but I struggled to identify the Thai influence never mind the fish. Three large mouthful of soft, breaded and fried mashed potato, with the occasional hint of spice.Would go there for a drink but I would not bother with the food.

Lovely to be fitted in last minute! The veggie cauliflower spinach and celeriac was delicious..but the pastry wrapping was a bit undercooked. The veggies, Yorkshire pud, gravy very nice. This was our first visit to The Corner House. As soon as we walked through the door, the staff offered us a warm welcome and couldn’t be more helpful. This continued after we were given our table. The food was fabulous and we enjoyed the great mains and really lovely puddings. I know we will return. Thanks to all the staff who made our day so pleasurable

The website looked good and the online menu seemed reasonable but we ended up paying for an overpriced, boring, bland meal. The chicken schnitzel was dry and tasteless, served with chips. The 'seasonal vegetables' we're just peas! We mentioned this to the waitress and her comment was that it should be served with mashed potato! Needless to say, we won't be returning...

Took friends visiting from Canada to the Corner House but the young female bartender was so rude! We enjoyed every other pub in Worthing (she could learn good service by visiting them too!) She obviously did not want to be at work or to serve customers. If the pub is only willing to politely serve young, heterosexual, English people then it should say so and save those like us a journey. Won't be going back again. Needs to go on the 'gay unfriendly' pubs list.
