The Corner Cafe in Erewash

What a lovely little cafe. I called in here whilst my car was being serviced and was greeted with a warm welcome by all the staff who were great The cafe had a real good feeling to it and sold a multitude of things other than food. The food was cooked well, even the eggs which I am funny about but it was perfect for me, I am a white firm, yellow runny kinda guy. The prices are fair, they will never compare with big pub chains but I am always willing to pay a little extra to keep a local shop in business Probably my only gripe was that it opened a little late for me, but I am an early bird so it is nothing new for me to experience. Would I go again? Definitely, the next time I'm in Ilkeston

Took me right back to my youth.... Proper old fashioned (in the nicest way) café. Very busy with the older generation, the staff knew nearly everyone by name, it was lovely to see 🤩

I recently visited here after walking past many times, this time attending with my daughter. On entering, it was clear to see it was a popular place with the locals. After a short wait we found a table conveniently right next to the fish tank, which entertained my daughter looking at the fish. I decided to go for the large breakfast & separate options for my daughters breakfast, (as seen in the photos). Everything arrived pretty quickly, with it all being presented well. I would personally improve the sausage quality, as they didn’t taste great, but other than this, I have no other complaints. The staff clearly loved working, always talking with the customers, with it having a very homely feel to the place. I’m sure I will visit here again at some point in the future.

First I used the cafe as a boy, not a boy now but an old man. Love to revisit this cafe when I am in Ilkeston. Good food at good prices.

Go in there 2 or 3 times a week and I have the same a sausage and bacon cob and a sausage bacon and egg cob and every time it's perfect bacon is nice and thick sausage are nice no fat on them cobs are nice and fresh and when I say this it's not in a bad way but it's a good old old fashion cafe clean bright warming will carry on going there best cafe in ilkeston

Reall nice old school cafe - excellent cooked breakfast at reasonable price, I wish it had been lunchtime so i could have tried the home made pies, friendly service, coffee not the best but apart from that, great place!

A wonderful little cafe, the oldest traditional cafe in ilkeston and I can see why, friendly staff, lovely cosy atmosphere, absolute bargain prices but most of all the food was delicious. This was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last.

Cafe was about to close but were more than accommodating to us choosing to stay open and provide food even though kitchen had closed. Very friendly staff/owners, who provided information on the long history of the building/cafe from the late 1800's. Look forward to next visit.

After a few year's hiatus from visiting the Corner Cafe I was so pleased to return to find it has lost none of its charm or character. Nor the ability to knock out piping hot lovely spoon food at very reasonable prices and all served with friendly smile. Outstanding stuff, a true gem.

I love this place it's like stepping back in time but in a good way. A must if you are in Ilkeston we have to keep places like this going. It's what's Britain is.

Love this quaint little cafe though small in size it's very welcoming & the food is hot fresh & great quality for a very reasonable price. The interior is very random with lots of little bits for sale I spotted signs for both photocopying & knife sharpening services alongside a fish tank, it's a bit open all hours style higgledy-piggledy but its got real character I hope the owners never change it, Had highchairs available for smaller children too
