The Commercial Inn in Swansea

Midweek family lunch. Phone call made prior to visiting to ensure food was available as last time we visited no food available due to fryers not working. On entering this establishment we noticed a cat inside premises drinking milk from a cup on the floor in the restaurant. The whole place had an unpleasant stale aroma and very cold dark and dingy. The tables sticky and menus the same. Service limited and unfriendly. Large notices advising no vegan food available. We eventually made our choices and ordered at the bar. Food arrived promptly on warm plates. Portions quite small but food was reasonable. Overall a ok ish visit but this place is in desperate need of a good deep clean and would benefit from re decorating. Would we re visit or recommend, probably not.

Enjoyed another lovely evening here. Food was great. It arrived hot and in good time I'd recommend the burger. Tara and Meg are a great assist to the place warm and friendly but assertive and professional. They couldn't do enough for us. Already looking to my next visit

I’ve been to this place 3 times in the last 5 weeks the last time was yesterday 4/2/2024 and every time I’ve been impressed so I thought I’d leave a review. The food is decent. Hot and served in a good waiting time, the staff honestly can’t do enough for you. Welcoming and assertive.

Came in on 7/10/23, a quiet Saturday afternoon considering the rugby was on. Pub is dark and quiet. Ordered food with the hopes it would come in time for half time but ended up waiting 45 minutes for food (1 steak+ 1 kids meal). Ordered a medium steak but it was more very well done. Chips were cold, peas were hard/not cooked enough. The peppercorn sauce I paid extra for came with a hard film ontop and was a small amount. Cheesy garlic bread was soggy and wet underneath and cheese tasted off. Almost a mouldy taste. Whilst eating, I ordered 1 drink on the app. After the 22 minute mark, I went to the bar and asked where the drink was. Turned out the machine had run out of till roll so they hadn’t seen my order and made it there for me when I asked. We had no check back for the entirety of the meal so didn’t have the chance to “complain”. Witnessed a member of staff spill a bowl of chips over a customers lap and then just walk off back to the kitchen to get a new bowl, leaving the mess all over the table, floor+ customers lap. Playground is a trip hazard and fairly run down+dirty with dogs off the lead to run around playground and outdoor tables. Positives? Majority of the staff are friendly enough and pour a good pint. Great big screens for sports. Condiments are kept refrigerated which I appreciated but don’t think I’d return for food.

Excellent options to choose from with great prices and deals etc. All five of us enjoyed our meals and drinks

Great place for a quick bite stafg are lovely especially Charlie, very helpful and friendly, it is just what you need when out with family. Good pub grub , worth what you pay for it.

Had a lovely meal here with friends recently and was overall very impressed with the quality of our meals, they have such a selection to chose from! And 2 meals for £11.49, cant go wrong. We often call in here for food and a few drinks and have yet to be disappointed. I highly recommend the gammon and eggs and the chick n mix is great as theres so much choice. Always enjoy a nice pint of stella while here and my partner was a bit more adventurous and tried the sex on the beach cocktail which was a massive hit, thank you to the staff member who recommended it. There is also a nice size beer garden and kids play area out the back. Lovely when the suns out.

Lovely all day breakfast, very filling and staff are friendly and approachable. It caters for all the family and as a adults only bar area.

What a great place to eat and have real fun. We were lucky enough to call on a sunny day so our grandchildren could play in the fab play area which is totally safely enclosed. Staff were great and food arrived within an acceptable time....

I had pre booked Christmas lunch here for myself (carer) and a service user. Booking was friendly and easy over the phone. On arrival the staff were welcoming and assisted with doors for access with a wheelchair. The staff couldn’t do enough and the food was stunning and reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our once a year meal out and will be booking again next year

I visited at lunch time to meet friends with our babies and loved the friendly atmosphere! I’m dairy free due to breastfeeding which can make it hard to eat out but the manager was so helpful and came and sat with me to go through the allergy lists and make sure I knew my options! She really made sure that I still enjoyed my meal rather than treating me like an inconvenience as I’ve had in other places! I will definitely go again and would highly recommend - could not beat the service, and the food was lovely too!

I visited on a Friday lunchtime with my baby to meet friends. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and could not fault the service and food. There is a wide selection of food to choose from on the menu and the service I received was second to none. The food was delicious and there was a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be returning soon
