Gem of a place for a pub lunch. This place is great value for money serving very generous portions and offering plenty of choice. Our food tasted good and was served promptly. Highly recommended!

They got us in as it was late and they couldn't do enough for us. And the food as always was fantastic and the staff are always willing to help

Very good selection of food at reasonable prices. Good quality and generous portions. Plenty of drink choices. Very attentive staff. Great setting and catered for a large party extremely efficiently. Have already planned a return visit. Would recommend. Singer started about 8.30pm on the Friday night but because of prearranged plans couldn't stay but definitely would take advantage of the entertainment on our next visit.

I want there with my work colleagues for our Xmas Dinner. Absolutely superb. I couldn't fault the turkey or the veg. Even though I'll be making a 34-mile round trip, I'll be going there again with my family.

First time I've paid a visit, will be back again. The food options for vegetarian/vegan were great and quality was excellent.

It's now bar 141 2nd visit it was fab food is great and service fab the two girls serving were excellent and we didn't have to wait long thank you Brooke and Gysintha fir an excellent evening we will be back soon

This place has a lovely atmosphere, excellent food at a very good price and very friendly, welcoming staff. They had to move us to another table because our food wouldn't fit on our table for two, but that's because my eyes are bigger than my belly.

The quality and amount of food you get for your money is very good. Only been once but will 100% be going again.

They were short staffed in the kitchen so we had to wait a while for our food but it was worth waiting for. Huge gammon portions and delicious sweet potato fries

We were welcomed with a smile by a delightful lady. Pub grub is pub grub? Well all I can say this was a cut above, beautifully presented. It was tasty and plentiful, the wine was reasonably priced and the atmosphere relaxed. Everything was spotless. My husbands mobility isn't very good but the ramp to the entrance was just at the right slope for him to negotiate. Perhaps tuck away a chair with arms as its easier for those with mobility problems to get up from the table. However two locals got him up with no fuss and he maintained his dignity!! At £37.90 for two with a bottle of wine , very good value. A delightful experience -we will be back.

This pub is under new management. The food is stunning an sunday lunch has loads of variety of veg it is one of the best sunday lunches around. Staff are very friendly an the pub as a whole is very welcoming. I would recommend 100%

My wife and I have just returned from having Sunday lunch at Bar 141 at the Smiths Llansamlet and I would say it was the nicest Sunday lunch that I can remember. The food was superb and the meat was something else, I think it must have been fillet. The only small criticism was it was very busy and a little cramped but that was only a minor issue. We will certainly be returning and I would definitely recommend to anyone to try.

Visited lunch time ordered glass of rosy and lager shandy We both had the small gammon with egg Beautifully presented with chips , peas salad garnish and mush rooms well cooked apart from peas and mushrooms which were Luke warm staff most apologetic total cost of meal under £20 Recommended

Went on Saturday night for my friends 50th birthday meal. Food was delicious, staff were lovely and they had a fab singer there too. Lovely atmosphere and nice cocktails too. Will be back soon.

Absolutely great time. Staff were very friendly, we were upstairs but bar wasn't in service as till was broke. As busy as they were, the staff were regular up and down the stairs taking our drink orders. Our buffet was enormous. Had a doggy bag home, staff provided plastic containers. Toilets were well maintained and plenty of parking I would highly recommend and will be visiting again. Thank you

We made a reservation for 25 people for my Mam and Dad's 70th birthday. Excellent food and service. Fabulous ambiance. There is a lot to choose from. We will definitely return.

Book a meal for three people on Friday lunch time. The three courses where delicious the only problem with the main meal was to much food! So tasty, the best Christmas dinner I have ever had in a restaurant. Staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you.

Visited for Sunday Lunch today and must say was really impressed. Every veg you can think of, all cooked perfectly not mush like lots if other carverys. Lots of meat, which was really tender. Will definately be visiting again

Went here for sunday carvery with my partner. The meat was cooked to perfection the veg was fresh and in plentiful supply. The whole meal was excellent highly recommend a visit. Staff were very friendly also. 10/10 will be back again

I think this pub is under new management? The Smiths Sunday Carvery was the worst experience we have ever had meat looked good, Yorkies also ok Cabbage, peas,stewed and dried out one boiled potato left and when on request mashed potatoes came about 10 minute after taking our food to out table and the portion given in a tureen was enough for a small child not two fully grown adults? Considering the veg was help yourself one scoop of mash potatoes between two adults was rediculas. Never Will return to this pub again.

Had a meal with family & friends .... proper home cooked Sunday lunch the best I’ve had in years & reasonable price of £10 for the lunch & dessert... will definitely be going there again

I have to say well done to Marc, his food is always so tasty and cooked to perfection. I think I’ve made my way through the menu, and have never had a bad meal. The Christmas dinner, was exceptional and great value for money. The steaks, always spot on and his home cooked curry and lasagne, both very tasty. Keep it up!!

Just had a takeaway Sunday lunch from here. Absolutely fabulous as usual. The beef and the gravy, well I defy anyone to find better around these parts. The restaurant deserves to do well and I am sure that people won’t be disappointed with the quality of the food on offer.

I would recommend this pub for quality and value for money. Great atmosphere and fast service. We ordered two meals which were lovely. We will be back again soon.

The Sunday roasts here are amazing. £8 for a large dinner. Turkey or beef. Plenty on the plate & the gravy is honestly one of the best I’ve tasted. Will definitely be back. They deliver dinners also. There is no delivery charge, just need to spend over £10

Went to The Smiths last night for a meal with friends & we were all extremely pleased coming from there. Marc & Jane, who recently took the restaurant over, were very welcoming & the food was excellent. Plenty of choice & wonderfully tasty. The garlic mushroom starter was particularly exceptional & the main meals were plentiful & had that home cooked edge to them. Value for money was very good as well. It was Saturday night & not too busy & the karaoke in the bar downstairs provided fun entertainment as we ate. Would recommend a visit & we will be back.

Visited here for lunch on a Sunday! Had heard good things about the new owners! Bitterly disappointed that the standard wasn’t what I expected. The chef was friendly probably a bit too friendly given he has a partner! It’s a shame as big things were promised and it doesn’t seem to be living up

Great food at a great price,especially the sunday lunch and the beef curry,all home cooked and very tasty!

No much choice in veg no mash,parsnips or swede. There was two choices of meat turkey or beef both looked like they'd spent the whole bank holiday weekend in the oven both were dry and tasteless adult serving tiny same as kids plate anywhere else. We purchased a kids Sunday Lunch and our eldest doesn't eat meat she was given 1 Yorkshire pudding 1 roast potatoe 2 new boiled potatoes a ball of crust that was being passed off as stuffing, peas like bullets and gravy you could've used to lay bricks. We asked the guy serving could we have some extra roast potatoes instead of the meat and he sarcastically dropped 1 on to her plate. Whoever hired this guy to serve food needs a serious rethink.

first ever visit here with the boys , they ate the most they have eaten for a sunday dinner , gravy was amazing , dinner was huge , meat was perfect , dessert was brownie which ive had in many places , and being a cake maker i know a good brownie and this was a 5 star brownie

I had Sunday lunch every thing was homemade fresh veg really enjoyed the gravy is lovely I would recommend it for dinner can't wait to go next week

With regards to thyco I'd like to give my opinion on the smiths arms. Firstly its definitely not frozen food I've seen the delivery coming in ,secondly these other drunk swearing customers are the ones that keep pubs going and last but not least what's the saying ? You get what you pay for !!! I've been here plenty of times and never have I had a bad experience. They are so welcoming and friendly also with regard to the room being small my mother had a wedding meal here which was bloody lovely and we had plenty of room. Some people just love a good moan. So to all the staff at the smiths keep up the good work you do a mighty fine job

Used to go there and the food was very good, there is a different chef there now and his attitude is as if everything is too much trouble for him. The veg was overlooked and he was stingy with the meat. The place desperately needs a good refurbish and clean. Definitely will not be returning there any time soon.

First time I went I didn't think the carvery was going to be much cop at first glance but it turned out great and have visited loads of time now.only thing that leaves them down is the young waitresses they use spend most of their time in the kitchen rather than clearing tables and we have ended up eating dessert amongst a clutter of plates

Run down pub, bouncy castle didn't make up for it being far from child friendly I'd never bring my kids as the 'other' customers, generally drunk men didn't hold back on their language, and the food....well it was all frozen and don't be fooled into being told otherwise, the restaurant part is just odd, like everyone's brought their own tables and chairs in with them, and then squashed into a tiny room that's decorated like a bedroom? Strange won't be going again.

Booked a table for 3pm table of 6 when we arrived the was a waitress ready to sit us at our table she took our drinks order as the bar is downstairs there was a choice of beef pork or lamb which was delicious we had a choice of 5 veg which was cooked lovely and plenty of it the swede was amazing would defiantly book again everyone really enjoyed the proper gravy was amazing well done smiths arms we will be returning

Sunday Lunch is a carvery, we booked in advance for 2pm. Very disapppointed to find out that the only vegetables available were frozen peas and mushy peas and carrots. Apparently they had run out of everything else. generous portions of beef etc. Lot of swearing and shouting from the bar. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Nine of us went for out Christmas lunch the food was stunning, all fresh (not frozen ) hot and plenty of it. The staff were amazing so friendly and helpful they couldn't do enough for you .we all had a fab time, will definitely be going back well done girls ten out of ten xx

Had the carvery on Sunday and was not disappointed, beautiful fresh food choice of two meats and the rest of the trimmings in abundance. Lovely friendly staff fitted us in as we hadn't booked but recommend booking if there's four in your party a return visit will be a definite.

We booked on the Saturday for the Sunday it's a cavery loads of meat and loads of vegetables to chose from I like mashed potatoes but there was none there but Injust asked and it was on the table within 5 mins the only thing I didn't enjoy but that's because I like my roast potatoes with a crunch there's were soft the gravy was very tasty the service from the waitress was very good she was on her own and managed a full. Restaurant will be going again as soon as possible for £6.95 you just can't go wrong and you couldn't make a smashing meal like that for less than a £25

Arrived at the smiths and was surprised the restaurant was upstairs. We had a nice meal enjoyed . It was a lovely welcome, and we all enjoyed. Except the scampi which was all btead no scampi in the breaded ,scampi was really bad . Everything else was great. Great landlady aswell .

Had Sunday lunch here today was looking forward to putting plenty of food on my plate from the cavery to take away however this option was not available. The food was nice but wasn't much on the plate. Doesn't reflect the Facebook photos of the Sunday lunch.Was disappointed with the amount of food however what there was of food was very nice!

Had the carvery on Sunday,beautiful meal,proper gravy,no bisto granules here!! Just returned from a mid week lunch,I had curry,my daughter had the cod. Another excellent meal,very large portions and proper chips!!!

Top marks to the chef, food was out standing most definitely go there again and would highly recommend to friends and family

Phone up the smiths to order 2 takeaway Sunday lunches. I was given the option of delivery or collection. I decided to collect as I only love around the corner. Food was packed and ready for me. There was enough for two dinners plus a little left over, however, I was disappointed that the food was cold. Enjoyable meal - nothing special. Would re-order if I fancied a Sunday lunch on a whim again.

Went to the Smith's arms llansamlet on Friday had a beautiful meal, value very good and quality. Excellent service. Will defiantly be back again.

Went here with my partner and two children on 12th august and found the restaurant to be lovely. The staff were pleasant and the food was amazing for the price we ordered a Cajun chicken and lasagne off the two for ten the chicken came with chips and salad and the lasagne with salad and garlic bread and there was more than enough food on the plates. The kids had fish fingers with beans and smily faces which was ample for a child. We had a shock when we came to pay as children eat for £1 through the school holidays so for a family of 4 to eat it was just £12 (excluding drinks) would definitely go back again and would love to see the place busier

Took my daughter for a bite to eat as I've heard so much about how good the food is at the smiths I had gammon and egg which came with side salad peas and proper chips my daughter had lamb shank I must say it was delicious it's a pub that serves pub grub we really enjoyed and would go back again what I will mention is that u don't need to go through the pub to get to the resturant there is another entrance at the top of the carpark see u soon smiths well done

Scruffy cafe above a scruffy pub serving a variety of food. Sausages and mash consisted of megavalue sawdust sausages. Service was good but the quality of food and venue was not up to my standards and my standards really aren't that high.

All excellent except the ladies toilets.in dire need of repair and good clean up.reported to staff.i had gammon chips and salad my wife had chicken in a galic sauce both were delicious.we have eaten here before and it was lovely then also.

Had a family meal. Late booking but easily accommodated 11 of us. Enjoyed all the meals. Great size portions. The waiter was very friendly. Only downside is the noise from the pub downstairs and that the toilets were also downstairs. It wouldn't be a pub that I would let my children ( young teens) go to the toilets without an adult. Overall, really surprised and enjoyed the Smiths restaurant.

Family meal in the Smiths in Llansamlet really lovely food,very well presented , nice and hot and succulent meats .We chose a variety gammon,pork chops with pepper sauce, sweet chilli chicken and steak,all of which were delicious and great chips served with it .Childrens meals had a really good variety to choose from which is a first .Staff were very pleasant and helpful and the drinks were reasonably priced . Will definately be going there again will try Sunday lunch next time as I have heard some good recommendations about it .

I recently went to this pub on a Saturday when they had a band playing. The staff were friendly and helpful and the beer was reasonably priced. Great atmosphere everyone got up and had a dance, I thoroughly enjoyed! Will definitely be going back.

Really excellent meals. The meat is high quality and so suculent. Staff are great. One point is that it was a little cold there. Could do with better heating.

Tried this local pub/restaurant tonight wow! Great standard of quality food, excellent service, fantastic choice. My husband had the trio of lamb chops and I had lasagne - we eat out quite often and we could not fault the meal and this is the cheapest and one of the best meals we have had in years. We will be back - thank you.

We have been eating at this restaurant since Martin took over about two years ago, The food is consistently of a excellent standard, we particularly like the steaks and the lamb chops , however every meal we have tried has been well presented and good quality food. The food has pub prices , but with restaurant quality , if you try it here I almost guarantee you will be returning.
