Food was amazing , the service was fantastic and can't thank hayley and michelle enough , nothing was too much trouble , would recommend to any one , perfect afternoon thankyou

We enjoyed an excellent lunch with our 2 mains for the price of one offer. I had cod, chips and garden peas and my husband had the mixed grill. The portions were generous and the food and service were very good.i would definitely recommend.

Had a fantastic Sunday roast here. The food was excellent and came piping hot just how we like it, the service was very good and it was really good value for money. We were served by Cameron and two young ladies who were all polite and attentive, highly recommend

Arrived here last night at 6.15 pm and left 7.45pm. In all that time we had one main course only. Everything ran painfully slow. We eventually received our dessert menu but the server did not return to take our order, therefore by then we had enough, paid the bill and left. As per just about everywhere we go lack of staff, leads to slow service and unable to retain our custom. TIP... pay staff more, they might stay!

We enjoyed a lovely birthday meal here. Service was fast and efficient. Sophie gave us excellent service. Food was delicious..hake was full of flavour and the mixed grill cooked perfectly..We have never had a bad meal here..we will be back

Interesting pub............normally bang-on but tonight the management almost seemed 'aggressive' when it came to highlighting 'slight delay on food' and 'if you want apple pie need to order sooner rather than later' - there are better ways of getting the message across!! Cleaning the Amstel line was also an added debatable exercise - yep needs to be done but when it goes on from 20:15 to 20:42 pouring from the tap into the bucket it basically sounds like the gents for over 20 minutes.............classy. Not sure what has happened but not the friendly environment I have visited on a number of occasions with lovely experiences. This now feels like a conveyor belt of 'Done........next..........no...........yes............thanks........bye'. Waiting staff (thank God) were absolutely fantastic - again thank you or it could have been a disaster.

Popped in for Sunday Lunch. The menu offered a good range of options and the food was very good. Service from Michelle & Cameron was excellent. They communicated well, checked our food was OK all while they handled a busy restaurant.

Nice Pub, we’d pre booked as we were travelling to see family and stopped overnight so we hadn’t been before, unfortunately when we arrived we were greeted by 3 very loud and drunk Irish chaps ! however the Manager and staff were spot on and dealt with the problem very quickly. We ate in the restaurant part of the pub, the food, staff and service were excellent . Also had breakfast in the pub which again was spot on. Would definitely visit again. Thank you

A fabulous breakfast that left my husband and I feeling comfortably full. Everything was cooked to order which meant it was fresh and piping hot. I had vegetarian sausages and they were the nicest ones I’ve ever tasted. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough to make sure our visit was the best it could be. We are definitely going to visit again. Thank you for looking after us so well.

I have been estate the Cold Harbour every week since October 2023 through business. I have never had a bad meal, always hot and fresh. The bar staff, table service staff are the nicest most polite people you could ever meet.

I absolutely love this pub. They do the best roast in Swindon. Absolutely delicious, in fact every time I’ve eaten here the food has been wonderful. Amazing service, fast and efficient. A lovely cosy atmosphere. I always look forward to coming here it’s a real treat.

We come here as our first choice whenever we can, the food is always amazing! We went for an early dinner yesterday & I ordered off the specials menu - the pork loin. oh my word! I'm not sure I've ever had such a fantastic meal, It was just incredibly delicious! I'm glad i chose that as a change & not go for my usual option. I do hope CH decide to keep that as a special as it was completely faultless. Compliments to the chef!! I then had the Eton mess, which also was really delicious! My husband had a starter of a chicken goujons type dish, which he really loved, I tried a bit, & I may well order that next time for myself too. Then he had his usual option of cod and chips, which he always loves, especially the portion size. It's such value for money here. Completely recommend - it's the best place to eat in Swindon, in our opinion. We will see you again soon!

The Staff behind the bar and serving the food were awesome, however having stayed here for 3 weeks I noticed that one of the Chefs was always angry, shouting at younger staff and generally creating a bad atmosphere. This is unacceptable and I don’t know how this man is still employed here! The food is great, but having an obvious bully in the Kitchen isn’t good for morale. Just an observation. Definitely eat here as the food is lovely,.,, maybe that’s why he is still here.

Had the lamb "special" . This was the WORST meal I have ever been served. It was like a Tuesday heat up of a bad Sunday dinner. With cold concealed mint sauce dropped on the side. I will never return.

We went for a meal at Cold Harbour as a last minute trip for a Friday night treat and partially as a restaurant with EV charging next door. We were so glad we visited. The food was amazing quality and such generous portions. The staff were all so friendly, attentive and welcoming. This hidden gem has definitely been added to our “go to” venues for a family meal out.

Absolutely amazing, excellent atmosphere and service (from Josh). Food is nothing short of perfect all at an extremely affordable price. Would definitely recommend for a cheap and high quality dinner with the family.

Visited today after passing a few times and never tried, so wasn't sure what to expect ref pricing, value and quality but we were blown away. Our starters were delicious, my husband has the mushroom starter and I had the chicken strips, both really tasty. My husband had a steak which was cooked perfectly, and I had pork belly which was absolutely delicious, accompanied by really tasty veg and mash. Service was lovely and food was piping hot and prices were reasonable. We will be back for sure.

Really disappointed - not very busy which was nice Attitude from a a member of staff was really shocking - so rude , if she didn’t want to be their don’t work in retail Starters were lovely Mains came out trio roast , steak , triple chicken ,burger and children’s meals . The roast was awful , potatoes not cooked , very fatty piece of meat, veg par cooked , and luke warm, a little piece of crackling and Yorkshire pudding All the veg was left just couldn’t eat it An item was missing from the order - ended up cancelling as the main meal was eaten before it even was ready.

Lovely service, lovely food. Reasonably price. Decor is nice and vibrant atmosphere. Courtney and Sophie were our servers and were great. Will be back soon.

Despite being incredibly busy and run off their feet, the whole team went above and beyond to make this a fantastic meal with our friends. We arrived around 7pm and were immediately acknowledged and told they would be with us as soon as they could get there, in no time we were shown to our table and offered drinks. The whole ordering process was efficient and our waitress did a fantastic job at being friendly and welcoming whilst not being too overbearing. Food was 10/10, as it always is! We were advised of a delay on food but this came as no surprise as the place was packed! The wait was definitely worth it! Fantastic job Cold Harbour. A special mention to Sharon and Courtney, who despite being rushed off their feet, still made us feel welcome and took the time to check in on us. We will be back!

Food was of very high standard, service was fairly quick after an initial wait ,our waitress Courtney was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable

It should read "terrible with a minus" for this place with less than average food quality, unclean surrounds, sticky tables, menus and chairs and when pointing brown splatters and dirt on walls, answer came: "that's alright"! Still trying to understand what was meant? The very opposite of an enjoyable experience and never to be repeated.

We made a last minute reservation for 2 for dinner. The initial welcome we received was fine, unfortunately this was the highlight. Out starters were slow to arrive (around 30 minutes) both were quite bland. We then waited half an hour for our main course, I had a very average cheeseburger burger (with virtually no cheese) and my wife had a steak and ale pie that had a lot of fat and gristle and extremely hard pastry (not flaky as described on the menu. We then waited again to get the bill and another 20 minutes to pay it. Will not be coming back.

Excellent food and good value, service was prompt. All staff were good, Cameron dealt with a number of questions calmly and with patience.

What a lovely surprise the new menu is. Yes, the old favourites are still there (the outstanding cod and chips for example) but the new additions are great. There’s enough new snacks to make a super tapas. We had the Chef’s board with extra Spiced sweet potato. Only just finished it! There’s plenty of gluten free options which my wife needs. All this is made even more enjoyable by the excellent staff. In my opinion, it’s worth a visit just to be served by the wonderful and always smiling Sophie. A great place for lunch or dinner, or just to pop in for a drink.

Another positive experience at this restaurant - three so far this year. Food standards maintained - how you cook a rump steak (part of a mixed grill) so tender escapes me! The service was as friendly as ever with genuine recommendations and advice if asked. Will definitely return soon.

So we have visited this Restaurant many times before, and always received good service & food. Hence why we returned again this evening, so you may ask: “ Why the bad rating? “ This was due to the fact we had absolutely diabolical service….!!! We arrived at our reservation time of: 19:15 for a table of x4….. We never even had a drinks order taken for the first 25mins whilst seated….. When the drinks did come out, we thought we’d best place our food order…. Due to how long we had to wait for our drinks…. But we were abruptly told….. “ You can not place your order, as there are tables waiting to order before you! “ No problem we thought….. But by the time we ordered & our food come out, we had been there for 1:47hrs… But this was the only good bit….. The food was extremely nice & the Chef was obviously very good at his / her job.. Unlike the waiting staff at the front of house…. We asked for the dessert menus when the plates were eventually cleared from the table: ( 30mins after we finished eating! ) But after they were delivered to the table, nobody returned to take our order after waiting for 20mins…..??? So at this point, we gave up & went to pay our bill whilst leaving…… Needless to say, no tip was left! Which we normally do, however we did feel guilty for the Chef…… As the food was very good…… Will we return again….???? Maybe, when there’s New Management who can organise & train their staff better…

Just had an evening meal. We were assisted by one member of staff called Cameron. He is the most polite member of staff I've ever come across. . With this excellent experience by Cameron he should be rewarded. We also witnessed Cameron help an elderly lady down the stairs. Also asked "anything else he can do." What a delightful place. We will be back.

Went as a couple having not been before. Really good welcoming atmosphere . Menu was very good with a really varied set of choices plus an enticing specials menu.
