I absolutely love this place and make a point of visiting every time we’re in Cardiff. Cash only, service with a smile and fabulous Corn Beef pie!

Best coffee in Cardiff. Lovely staff.

We’ve been coming to the Coffi House since 2001 and it remains one of our favourite places to eat breakfast, brunch or lunch. The family run feel, the staff are lush, so welcoming. I can honestly say that the food has always been delicious. Everything is fresh and home made, our favourites are the corned beef pie (we always take a slice home); the classic breakfast; the omelettes and the Quiches. They also do lovely cakes. It’s basic home cooked food at its best. It’s a pretty basic inside for a cafe, so it could be easy to overlook it in favour of Juno Lounge or Cafe Nero, but the food and drinks are so much better than both! This sounds silly, but despite its basic interior, the floor is always swept and kept clean regularly by the staff, as are the tables, cutlery and toilets (unlike the majority of cafes and coffee shops in Cardiff - I’m sure some NEVER clean the floor or tables). There are no dogs in there (please keep it this way) - sorry to all the dog lovers, but I firmly believe that dogs should not be in places where people are eating and drinking, plus I have an allergy to dogs! The prices are very very reasonable, it’s a gem that I hope we will be able to visit regularly for a long time to come. Thank you Coffi House! Keep up the good work.

Food, well as you can see from others pictures, the food looks bland = tastes blander. My partner need some one to help with the toilet paper, and the staff member huffed, and left it 10 minutes before, replenishing the toilet paper. Tasteless food!! Abysmal service. The cafe few doors down it WAY better

If I could give more stars for service I would. The cutest little place with a great full English breakfast + the lady who works there is lovely!

Very friendly staff, Latté very nice. I could smell cooked fruit tea cakes, but I couldn't see them on menu, so had to ask and very nice they were too. Mite be good idea to put them on menu so people know you do them.

Very cheap ingredients and so poor quality. Cheap nasty ketchup in branded bottles. Won’t bother with this place again

This place is a blast from the past like going back in a time machine to the 1980s when life was different back then! I thought the Tea was great value for money as they do an old fashioned pot along with hot water to top up with like they used to do years ago. I am happy to come back another day when I am in the area.

Pleasant service, excellent coffee and superb fruit cake

The food is freshly cooked and homemade with daily specials and cakes on top of a menu of all day breakfasts, toasties, jackets, omelette, and main meals. There are a few kids options too so something for everyone and at a reasonable price. You find a table, order at the counter and your food is brought to the table. If the weather is fine there is a little courtyard at the back with a few tables too. We go once every month or two and the food never disappoints.

Closest thing to a "greasy spoon" i could find on welfield road. Very friendly staff, nice food. Breakfast roll was a little expensive for what it was. Lots of seating available inside.

Love this little cafe. Beautiful food, lovely drinks and the service was amazing. Always worth going to the independent cafes, rather than the chains.

Home made corned beef pie was delicious

Waitress, waiters and cooks are so polite and friendly and spot on when it comes to delivering food to the table. If anyone got anything bad to say then your just a Karen lol sorry not sorry. Keep up the good work guys ! You're smashing it !

Yet again a wonderfully light fluffy omelette for three of us along with the usual great service and lovely surroundings. A geatbstart to a weekend.

Popped in here for breakfast on a recent visit to Cardiff. Absolutely wonderful as ever ( been here before but many moons ago) Food was cooked well, staff were great. Highly recommended

Coffee mocha no coffee and chocolate tastes. Omelette was cold and no eggs tastes. No more next times.

Nice breakfast, reasonably priced

First time I've visited and very impressed. The feel is very spacious so good if you're concerned about social distancing, the food is fresh and good value and the staff are very friendly.

Always a fantastic place to come. The owners are absolutely amazing in this place, really friendly and always up for a chat. It's nice to go to a place and see that everyone is hard working, especially after such a strange few months these business have had. All food on the menu is great, and also love taking a table at the front for a good people watch with a coffee. Great place for the locals.

No table service even though this is something that should be happening in regards to covid restrictions. Not a single customer that walked in was wearing a mask, and they were not asked to by employees. Kitchen staff not wearing a mask. Absolutely appalled and will not be returning.

Normally my absolute go to Sunday, value for money, brunch place, great staff, chips like my Mum used to make and always a good selection of specials but will not be returning during the pandemic due to NO MASKS being worn by customers entering or walking around the cafe/ordering at the counter. The only mask being worn was by the lovely host but other kitchen staff walking through the cafe did not. Felt really uncomfortable and left.

Went in here for lunch with my granddaughter sat for 15 mins only one person serving at the counter ,she did nt come over to our table to take our order so I eventually went to the counter to order ( i thought the waitress was supposed to come to us) Was then told that there was a backlog and would have to wait 20mins? there was hardly anyone in there and one table had finished eating . Sorry but very poor service need more staff at lunchtime we left without ordering. Tables also not very clean and menus all sticky.

The soup is delicious as usual. We ordered two because it’s our favourite, with two breakfasts. But today the soup was served in a small bowl, much less than it used to be. I raised the issue and they said they would serve another portion of soup despite claiming that’s what they were trained to (serve in a small bowl and they don’t know it was served in a large bowl before). Since then no addition soup, no one bother to ask us, when we were sitting there almost 30 mins after we finished our lunch. This is not the way you do business. Let alone in service industry you broke your promise don’t care about your customers. This is the basics.

It was ok. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. Priced quite well but the food was very greasy.

The coffi house is a great place to go for home cooked British comfort meals. From jacket potato’s , to pies and lasagnes the menu has plenty to choose from. Prices are a little lower than your average restaurant/cafe in the area but don’t let that put you off as the food is still at a great standard.

A convenient place to meet with friends or family while out shopping

Stopped here for afternoon coffee as the other coffee houses in Wellfield Road were busy. The coffee was lovely and the place not too noisy which suited me fine. The free WiFi was a bonus and helped me catch up with my mail. Definitely recommended this place.

My wife andd I regularly visit Albany Road/ Wellfield Road. Our old place to eat was Zio's om Albany Road,, sadly now closed. Today we tried The Coffi House, as we used to travel out for food. We were not diappointed.The home cooked pie and lasagne were wonderful. The service was friendly and homely. It was our first visit and we were made to feel as if we were regulars. I highly recommend you call to taste the food.

Been coming here for years and it's still great to sit with friends for lazy coffee or on your own to read the paper. Friendly, food is plenty and good. Come and support your local cafe

A very average greasy spoon- we stopped in for breakfast only to find you must order at the counter and what you will get is cheap ingredients that are to be fair cooked ok. They will also hold or add items to your meal, however there are many better places to eat nearby

I have loved the coffi house since I was a child. It’s great for home cooked comfort food which is also good value for money. The corn beef pie and lasagne are both pretty good. I hate seeing the place so quiet as when we were younger the coffi house used to be full. There are so many amazing places to eat now in Cardiff but defiantly consider the coffi house for delicious home cooked comfort food when on a budget.

Every time we return to Cardiff, The Coffi House is one of our stops. A trip to Wales would not be complete without having a big breakfast on Wellfield Road.

we have eaten here on a good few occasions and we have just been again the food as usual is all cooked fresh. Good value with pleasant staff

Perfect cheap and cheerful breakfast - and with a great vegetarian option too! This isn't the place to go if you are looking for gourmet food, but it's my go-to for a lazy weekend breakfast when I can't be bothered to cook, or the best cure for a hangover. Staff are always lovely and the place has a tonne of old-fashioned charm.

Small selection of food on the menu but all delicious and homemade. Breakfast was popular, but I wanted to try the quiche as last time it had run out! It was really tasty and served with a jacket potato was really good. Going for cake next time!

Over the past couple of years, just because we can, two of us have been trying out the coffees and breakfasts/brunches in different cafes around the city. July 2018 we decided it was the turn of The Coffi House in Wellfield Rd. This place is definitely at the lower end of the café market and we have to agree with other reviewers – the whole place stinks of cooking fat and so will you if you eat inside – the owners definitely need to invest in more efficient extractor system. We couldn’t handle the grease smell, but we don’t often have a heatwave, so we chose to sit outside in what turned out to be a grubby back yard, where you felt a bit like you were in a high security prison yard, complete with barbed wire and broken glass cemented into the top of the high walls. Didn’t risk any coffee here. Mugs of tea were fine, but bring your own sugar if you take it, otherwise it’s well fingered lumps from some pretty grotty containers. Standard breakfast was definitely lower end on quality, but at least it was edible. Tick box. Tried it. Move on. Won’t be back.

Just to let you know that if you sound like you are not from there and are just passing by Cardiff they will run your card once, lie that didn't work, and then charge you again the same amount, so the prices are 200% higher than stated, and the prices are already high to begin with for the poor service

Nice casual lunch. Cash only. Only thing that puts me off rushing back is the poor ventilation, you come out smelling like you've been deep fried! I would be glad to come back if they sorted that out.
