The Coffee Van in Reading

What a find. In a sea of chain coffee houses serving a cocofani of sub par, run of the mill coffee, you'll find the apptly named 'Coffee Van', serving genuine espresso based drinks, plus a selection of sweet treats. A high street chain this is not, and my Caramel Macchiato, with it's diminutive size and carefully balanced flavours is all the better for it. Note, a macchiato is not a long drink (talking to you Costa, Starbucks et al) but a short, shot, with a touch of foam to soften the espresso. There is a small amount of seating for drinking al fresco, which is fine for a dry September day but might be less appealing with more inclement weather. Still, as a stop for coffee during your business day (it's handily near the Oracle Centre outside the Civic Offices), it's a great find and will keep your caffeine levels primed for a good few hours, helping survive that next meeting or two. Well worth a visit - and the barista is extremely knowledgeable too!

The coffee van is a real treat and a must visit when in reading. The staff are always extremely happy to meet you and the drinks are spectacular, especially the new limited edition tiramisu mocha. 10/10

As a coffee lover this has to b the best coffee I’ve had. Real authentic coffee and the best quality ever. The staff are lovely as well, so if you’re ever in Reading and looking for the best coffee give them a try 😁

Just recently found the coffee van on my way to work, and honestly one of the best coffee's I've ever had! Will be getting my morning coffee's there from now on :D

For the first time I came across such a friendly staff, and excellent service! If I can give it more than 5 stars I would. Totally worth of my time, after a tiring day from work just by coming to get myself a nice drink, I left more energetic and happy than when I arrived. Thanks to the Barista and ofc course the quality drinks that they served!

Great service, super friendly staff and quality over all else. My wife and I started recently buying there and I don't think there's anywhere else any better hot and cold drinks in Reading. Very pleased with overall service and will continue to buy there.

Felt spoiled during my recent stay in the Travelodge, because since my last visit not only have two coffee vendors sprung up right opposite the hotel but they turned out to serve some of the best coffee in Reading. I mean the Biscuit Factory and the Coffee Van. I'm now calling this previously unhallowed spot Coffee Corner. The Coffee Van serves a surprisingly good coffee. I'm always surprised when coffee from vans or stalls proves decent, but I guess it has to be or no one would buy it. I used to love the coffee from the sorely missed Tamp coffee stall in Gun Street, so I'm delighted to find a replacement pop up for it in the Coffee Van. The guy working in the van was good at his job and jolly with it. I could see the van from my hotel window, and that he works hard in a cramped environment--much love to him. The Coffee Van saved me the faff of knocking up inferior coffee in my hotel room. Bravo!

Staying in the Travelodge opposite the Penta, I needed something better than granulated hotel brew, so was delighted to find this little van parked on the doorstep. Latte for me was the perfect start to the morning. Temperature great with a strong, fresh taste. Ordered a Coconut milk vanilla chai for the lactose free wife to pick up after a short walk and she loved it. Will definitely use again if back in the area and worth a walk past Nero’s and other coffee shops if coming the other way.

..but glad I did! The coffee was great and the croissants were too. Just what we needed for our walk and conveniently located also.

Best Mocha I have ever had. Not usually one to go for regular coffees before work but the quality and friendliness of the coffee and owner have swayed me. Will be coming here way more often.

I come here weekly for my Friday coffee-based treat! They serve a delicious selection of coffee and snacks from the cutest little van. These hardworking, knowledgeable baristas are so lovely and welcoming, it’s like having a chat with a friend each time you visit. Wishing your business all the very best - you guys deserve it!!

When working locally I like a chat with the lovely lady who works in the van. Coffee is delicious - black and nothing else.

Have been a couple of times and the coffee has been lovely, the lady that works there is very bubbly.

By far, the best coffee in Reading. Had fabulous coffee and hot chocolates with colleagues. Also had the best mince pie of the year.... decade. Thank you so much for the deliciousness. Not only is their coffee much better than any run-of-the-mill coffee, the customer service is amazing, so much so that it's become a daily routine.

Normalmente no dejo comentarios, pero tuve que hacerlo hoy. La comida y las bebidas son excelentes y, sobre todo, el servicio al cliente es excelente. Coffee is awesome and service is great too. Couldn’t ask for a better coffee to wake me up on my commute in to work, I am hooked and so are some of my commuter friends are too!

The staff are extremely friendly and always up for a chat. Prices are fare and selection of drinks and food are very pleasing.

Conveniently located at the North entrance of Reading Station, this has quickly become my new favourite place to grab a coffee before heading for my morning train! Excellent coffee (much nicer than the various offerings inside the Station), a tempting array of snacks, and very reasonably priced too, especially considering its location. And all served by two of the most charming, friendly guys you could ever hope to meet. They even stamp your loyalty card neatly!

Love this place! Clinton and Sarge are marvellous - super quick takeaways or you can relax and chat - they have tables and chairs

I feel in love with this coffee van after trying the best coffee, hot chocolate and milkshake I have ever had. All the drinks are always made with care, passion and always taste just perfect! Cakes, fruits and croissants are fresh and tasty.

Not only is this the best coffee I have had in Reading, the guy running it is polite, fast,professional and takes care over making your drink. The van looks great in it's location, it's not a 'van' - it's much nicer than that. There is a wide selection of cakes and snacks and some speciality coffees and teas too. All the cups and lids are made from organic matter, not plastic. Nothing not to love about this, highly recommended.

If like me you don’t have a love affair with caffeine then this is the place to go! Seriously tasty decaf flat white, a decent size and in a biodegradable cup all for £2.30. Service is friendly & speedy too, I can’t recommend the coffee van highly enough! :-)

Best coffee and croissant in the morning. Amazingly friendly and helpful, definitely recommend them if passing....

On the way to the council in Reading and saw this lovely little gem outside. Be rude not to grab a coffee waiting for the office to open. Had a lovely chat with the owner and his assistant while I waited for my coffee. Will definitely be back soon the coffee was amazing. I love independent enterprises and will always support them

Popped in to council offices and saw this beautiful coffee van there ordered a latte and an Oreo milkshake for my son.My coffee was perfect not luke warm just in right temperature and tasted delicious.My son loved his milkshake and finished it all for the first time and that says a lot.Smiley service as well.I would definitely go back again.

We only recently discovered this quirky coffee van just outside Reading Borough Council, Bridge Street. My wife and me both immediately fell in love with this place: coffee is simply amazing, I would certainly say the best in town. Fairtrade certified coffee, a wonderful Italian coffee machine, a great selection of cakes and pastries! The owner is a genuine and friendly guy who will welcome you with a smile. I also found the prices being very reasonable compared to most privately owned coffee shops in town. Try the CORTADO, I loved it!!! Thanks guys, see you tomorrow morning for coffee

Amazing service, with amazing products. Sarge is very professional and does the best chai latte in Berkshire. The prices are very reasonable compared to the big companies. Also you must try the fruit scones and buttered croissants. They are yummy - bang goes my diet.

So much better and cheaper than all the coffee chains. The Coffee Van serves the best coffee, for a very good price and Sarge and his Barista assistant are friendly and professional.

My wife and I were luck to stumble upon Sarge and his amazing coffee truck and we can easily say that it was the best coffee available.
