Have been lucky enough to have had Makan Malaysia UK cater for a private function, they have also had a food truck at an event I have been to AND I have ordered some of their incredible pantry sauces. My favourite food has been the Thai Green Chicken burger they have sold at the event I went to and for me the Sambal chilli sauce is always a winner. It is incredible and gets over used. My partner struggles with too much spice but loves the Peanut Sauce. Something to please everyone with their stunning Malaysian offerings.

I ordered some of their home delivery food and oh my god it's so tasty. Rich and flavourful and very more-ish! Also the Sambal is incredible if you love spicy food: full of flavour and the heat builds steadily but surely. My partner and I had a lovely dinner and will definitely order again! ❤️

Been ordering from these ladies, (Kat and Sue) since Covid and super thankful for them. When I don't have time and crave for Malaysian foods, Makan Malaysia is my go-to order. Chicken rendang and Kari Ayam have become our household staples. Recently ordered from the new menu and the mee mamak is so delicious, reminds me of KL. They also do varieties of sambal if you fancy adding some spice in your life cause let's face who doesn't it 😆 Aside from the delicious food they offer, they are bossing it at being business ladies, professional and always provides excellent customer service everytime I order, pretty sure if they lived any closer, it's bye bye money for me 😆💸 but totally worth it!

Food arrived in good condition and on time as stated. Seller taken great care to pack. We have enjoyed eating especially the beef rendang was cooked to perfection. The portion was plenty for both of us! We felt that the sambalicious Acar was different from what we are used to. The carrots and pineapples were quite chunky in size with no peanut and sesame seeds included. We would be more than happy to order again.

Attended a brilliant Cookery Class with Susie and Kat! Such a fun evening, learning some dishes and eating the most delicious food. I can also highly recommend their food for the freezer which is such a fab idea (try the Beef Rendang it’s amazing), and now they have some new pantry sauces for me to try! Love these girls and everything they do.

Su and Kat were the caterers for our wedding and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience with them. The food was absolutely incredible - tender beef rendang and chicken satay, as well as a gluten free char kway teow being my personal highlights. Messages from a number of guests after the day mention the food being brilliant and some of the best wedding food they have ever had! Su and Kat were such a pleasure to deal with, always super positive and helpful. They navigated a huge number of dietary requirements. Their waiting staff were also very professional on the day. A brilliant team to work with!

Had Makan Malaysia cater for a private family event for around 50 people up in Derbyshire. Su and Kat were so professional, warm and their food was incredible!!! Difficult finding decent Malaysian food around these parts and char kuay teow was incredible and don't get me started on their sambal!! Got the seal of approval from Malaysian members of the party. On top of this, all the communication from designing the menu, quotation, cooking arrangements, dietary requirements in the lead up to the party was excellent. Communicated clearly, promptly and suggested ideas and practical solutions to suit wide range of dietary requirements. Everyone had multiple rounds of food and portions were generous. Would 100% recommend.

Amazing evening at Pavilion Henley with Susie and Kat teaching authentic Malaysian cooking from their home country - excellent teachers, most delicious food, can’t wait to try at home. Equipped with recipe cards and where to purchase ingredients. Highly recommend a class with Susie and Kat.

I ordered the sambalicious almonds and jam tarts from Makan Malaysia. The almonds are so moreish, crunchy and just the right amount of kick to it. The tarts are divine ...... crumbly and the pineapple jam not sickly sweet. Everything tastes amazing, authentic products, will definitely order again. The packaging is so neat and secure too.

Kat and Sue catered for a Chinese New Year celebration in our office and it was INCREDIBLE. I got in touch with them quite late in the day and they were super efficient and helpful on email. They hand delivered everything to my office with allergen information, cards and more. The food was amazing - everyone commented on how tasty it was, and how they wanted more! I ordered four yee sang salads, pineapple tarts, sambal cookies and seaweed crackers. I would definitely order from them again and can't wait to try out their other dishes. Thank you Kat and Sue!

Wow! What can I say other than THANK YOU ladies for providing the most incredible catering for our recent wedding in September at Trinity Buoy Wharf London. The food was authentic, delicious and every single one of our guests raved about it on the day and are still raving about it now. We had food vendors to represent our cultural heritage, and Makan Malaysia smashed it out of the park with the creation of authentic flavours from the motherland! The spice level was on point and surprised many of us, as we normally have to shovel on the sambal to get some heat. The Malaysian side of the family were all lip smacking, finger licking and wanting more. The vegan and vegetarian guests were provided with Jackfruit rendang and tofu nasi goreng and all commented that it was not just the best wedding food they had ever had, but the best vegan food they had ever tasted! Kat and Sue were an absolute pleasure for our wedding planner to work with and on the day itself, were an absolute delight when interacting with our guests. We would not hesitate to secure their services again for future events, and we wish them every success with their business.

I worked with Sue and Kat to have Malaysian food for my birthday party. It’s been great to work with them, really helpful and relaxed. We managed to discuss different options to find something suitable, and the food was just amazing! They delivered the food with plates and cutleries, and we just helped ourselves! Really easy going! The food was so tasty, we had chicken rendant and sayur lodeh with coconut rice and vegetable fritters. It was a perfect mix and everyone loved the food… I would strongly recommend to anyone to go for it. You won’t be disappointed!!

In the last month, we have used Makan Malaysian’s home delivery and attended a supper club of theirs in Henley. Both experiences were great. The food delivery was on time, easy to reheat, and most importantly - delicious! The supper club was great fun, and we got to meet the owners of this business. You can tell they truly have a love for Malaysian food. We will definitely be using their services again!

Sue and Kat were amazing. Punctual and took over setting up every aspect of the food. Even to table setting decorations. The food was beautifully presented. The food was delicious and they gave particular attention to signage to indicate gluten free/ vegetarian to satisfy all requirements. There was such generous quantities and sufficient for brunch the next day. My kitchenware left so tidy and neat. I would highly recommend Makan Malaysia for any occasion. Ordered the beef rendang and Kuih and was very impressed, the flavours are very authentic. Sambal was pretty hot, I’m not the best with spice but my partner really liked it!

Had their CYN Yee Sang kit and the no spice veggie bundle. Really liked both. It was fun to do Yee Sang in the UK. The jackfruit rending was just the right level spices without the heat. I appreciate them think about the packaging too. The food came in compostable bags. Will be ordering it again.

Incredibly tasty food from such a lovely small business. The home delivery system is so easy and all the packaging is very eco, clear cooking instructions and can all be frozen for another time. Such a good alternative to a takeaway and far more delicious. Great meat, veggie and vegan options and also good for GF.

Makan Malaysia have done it again! As organiser of a commemoration for a friend I needed to cater for around 50 with long journeys to Reading. Makan provided excellent value two curry menu with a clear price per person. I asked guests to preorder and pay with me and gave Makan final numbers a week before event. It was perfect! Kat and Sue provided really generously, choice of two curries with fab pickle, cucumber etc. All came in big foil trays for me to serve, kept hot in huge aircraft style insulated box that we collected from the kitchen just before guests arrived. Delicious and terrific value - and most of all a perfect solution to running a low budget event for unpredictable numbers. Everyone delighted with their meals and really impressed with quality and quantity. Well done Makan Malaysia - and thank you for being so lovely to work with. Jo

Thank you for the fantastic food, delivered in time for the bank holiday weekend. We were celebrating my dad's 80th birthday. We lived in KL in 80's, and he was very impressed - he said he hasn't had proper Malaysian food since 1988! In fact everyone was delighted and very impressed with the food (and that it was shipped vacuum packed). The sambal cookies and almonds were a huge hit as they are so unusual. The portions were generous too - we had enough left to make 2 meals (for 4 people each!) of nasi goreng and 2 portions in the freezer for my dad when he's on his own!

Makan Malaysia made me discover Malaysian food and it’s really good! Their Kaya is a killer, and they have great choice for non-spicy food which is perfect for my taste! I fully recommend!

Repeat order of the Nasi Lemak, and first time ordering Jackfruit Rendang. Cannot believe "frozen" food can taste so amazing. Not a vegetarian, but I did not miss meat with the Jackfruit Rendang so that is going to be on my repeat list now.

Have been habitually ordering from them for a few years now, and every single dish I have ordered has been absolutely fantastic and really hits the spot as a Malaysian who has been away from home for 10 years. Their recent addition of Char Kuey Teow is my current favourite, and I always have a stock of sambal and serunding in my freezer. At a low point during lockdown when homesickness was particularly intense, I organised an off-menu dish (lemang) and they were so professional about everything once I had the minimum order. Their packaging is eco-friendly which is important to me and their shipping is precise. Never had an issue in any of the times I've ordered, you really see the care they put into everything they do. I ordered a cook at home kit from Sue & Kat - the instructions were idiot proof and the food was delicious. My very fussy 8 year old thought it was one of the best things he'd ever had, particularly the Sambal!

Nasi lemak was authentic and portion was generous. My 2 daughters and I enjoyed the fried keow teow as well, reminded us of eating hawker’s food in Malaysia. Tasty and delicious. Thoroughly recommended!!

The rendang and ayam kapitan are absolutely delicious!! I know this cuisine very well from childhood and they are the real deal. Very easy to order and they arrived neatly and securely packaged in a recyclable cooler box, and virtually every bit of packaging is compostable or recyclable. Easy to re-heat and the most amazing Malaysian food!

Excellent food, took me right back to my childhood in Malaysia.

Had the noodle bundle, quite pricey for the quantities. £32.99 for wantan mee for 2 and a smallish packet of char kway teow with a few prawns in it. The box was well packaged and cooled. If anything, too much packaging and cooling bags, not enough food. You have a fair amount of prep for the wantan mee. The flavour wasn't really to my taste, too mushroomy. I enjoyed the char kway teow more, also not much prep - just a quick heat up. Shame the portion size was just about enough for 2, with only 2-3 prawns each. Overall, it made a change, but I didn't think it was so good as to make it worth the cost.

Ordered for nationwide delivery, responsive to online queries, arrived promptly when expected, well packed. Easy clear instructions for heating, and very authentic and tasty - the chicken rendang took me back to being home in KL!

For my 70th birthday, I wanted to show case Malaysian cuisines to family and friends. I contacted Makan Malaysia for outside catering. Due to the distance involved, the delivery service was arranged. We settled on 4 course menu, Chicken Satay, Nasi Lemak, Beef Rendang and Madeleines. All food apart from the coconut rice were prepared and cooked, chilled and delivered by next day delivery. All well packed. Serving dishes of palm leaf plates with banana leaves and bamboo forks and spoons were supplied together with serving instructions and menu card. It made my event very professional. All food went down well with the guests considering they have little knowledge of Malaysian cuisines. They were all in awed with different textures and tastes of different components of Nasi Lemak. I was pleased and proud to be able to show case our Malaysian food. Thank you, Sue and Kat.

I've had food from Makan Malaysia a few times and at a couple of foodie events. The authenticity and quality is second to none. Though it's optional, if you like a kick, some of their sauces pack a serious heat punch, if you like a more aromatic experience then there are plenty of dishes to fit the bill, the Laksa is our favourite, a great dish for two. Delightful food, prepared with quality ingredients, what's not to like!

Makan Malaysia have some surprisingly traditional Malay dishes on their menu and they all taste amazing. The vegetarian alternative options are also just as good. A great panacea for when I'm homesick!

Reasonably priced & very decent portions, love the jackfruit rendang, kari ayam, mushroom serunding (insane how it tastes exactly like the meat serunding), nasi lemak, sambal (proper hot sambal mmmkay) and looking forward to eating my lemang, chicken rendang & pineapple tarts for Raya tomorrow 🥰 Order from them, you really won’t regret it!

Home cooked authentic Malaysian food sent straight to your door! Ordering on their website is super easy, when the delivery came the food was packaged so well, safely and presented beautifully with heating instructions that are easy to follow. The food itself is just like being back at home again (I’m a fellow Malaysian). I wanted to introduce Malaysian food to my partner and this was such a lovely way for him to experience it during a national lockdown. We are vegetarian and they cater to veggie or vegan needs. The team are also so lovely, professional and responsive when communicating. Absolutely great value and really practical way to eat well if you’re working crazy long hours, have your rice cooker on and all you need to do is heat up a nourishing tasty meal!

Ordered a nasi lemak meal kit, all comes beautifully (and sustainably) packaged and ready to heat and eat. Generous portions of rendang, nuts and ikan bilis. Sambal flavour perfectly complemented all the flavours. A really lovely and authentic taste of home!!

Makan Malaysia switched from supper clubs to selling their delicious food by post due to Covid. I've ordered this more than once and am constantly impressed - takes me right back to KL. I like the rendang and kari ayam, and am really excited to try the serunding in my next order. Cannot recommend highly enough!

When I first heard of this company I was hopeful, and on delivery of the first sambal pot I was overjoyed. The tastes took me back to my childhood. Ordered online a nasi lemak plus extras delivery to friends in Oxfordshire who used to live near the famous Adm Road nasi lemak in Singapore, and who missed it. Makan Malaysia;s version is as good as the famous one, the achar (pickles) and the rendang were very good, special mention of the good quality lean beef. Pandan madelines reminsicent of kueh baulu. Friendly proprietors are delightfully responsive and very on the ball in their replies. Turned out, friends had heard of the famous Makan Malysia in Reading, just never had the chance to visit, so heng heng, got online delivery service.

Amazing authentic Malaysian food with a loving home-cooked feel. I've seen these guys at several popups but since relocating I now do online orders. Their meal bundles are superb value for money and I know whatever I order it's going to taste great. Delivery is quick and very well packaged. P.S. The fritters are insane, even when reheating them in the oven!

Ever since I visited Malaysia and discovered their delectable cuisine especially Nasi Lemak. I have been hooked. Makan Malaysia brings that same fresh burst of flavour to your home. A good Nasi Lemak can often be judged by the quality of its sambal. And here the girls have made a proper highly fresh, mouthwatering and punchy sambal. From here on the rest of their dishes which are carefully curated and freshly prepared score point after point. The vegans have their own excellent choices but for me the Makan Mesar bundle with the Nasi Lemak is best. Chicken Kapitan is my favourite while my wife prefers the equally scrumptious Beef Rendang. I prefer to buy loads of their dishes and store in the fridge and enjoy it one at a time with freshly prepared rice either normal steamed rice or my personal favourite the Malaysian Coconut Milk Rice. All in all a treat for myself or when I have friends over and we can recreate the restaurant experience at home. And have I mentioned the packaging. It is of a very high quality to ensure your food is delivered fresh and chilled. These are amazingly well thought out and hard working girls and full credit to them for running a Malaysian eating experience unlike anyother.

From the private dining taster courses extravaganza to the home delivered FEAST. These guys are cooking up a storm. Super delicious flavours - you won’t go home hungry!

We ordered the meat feast for 2, along with the acar and both sambals from the website. The food was excellent and very easy to prepare. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food for a birthday party (about 30 adults), really really delicious (Beef Rendang, Dhaal, Samosas and Spring Rolls) - all the guests loved it. Also very efficient and professional set up and clear up. Cannot recommend Makan Malaysia highly enough.

Kat and Sue made absolutely delicious canapés for my birthday, Samosas, Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay. Food was delicious. They even brought extra sauces which was really nice and not expected. They arrived exactly on time as asked for and were ever so friendly. They even brought a birthday card. Would I use them again? ABSOLUTELY!

Kat and Sue did the food for my wife's birtday part (40 ish people). Food was incredible, both in terms of taste and presentation. They were happy to customise the catering approach to fit our needs and space, best of all they bring a friendly, cheerful and engaging style to the whole service. What a perfect mix for the beer at Siren Craft Brew. The beef randeng was exceptional, all served up with exceptional service.

Sue and Kat are smart, savvy business operators with plenty of personality and their food is simply to die for. Their marmite chicken and satay are simply moreish and the fresh spring rolls (summer rolls) are fresh, zingy and give some of the Vietnamese restaurants out there a run for their money. They catered for our event effortlessly and everything was seamless, from start to finish. Would 100% book Makan Malaysia again if we have another event and would be super keen to join one of their supper clubs.
