The Coffee Shop in Uttlesford

This place was always excellent before Covid arrived. Now, as cafés and restaurants open up carefully, this café is still not allowing customers inside. Even with necessary social distancing, there is sufficient room for 6 tables with 4 chairs at each. We sat outside on the ample lawn on a beautiful summers morning. However, as the weather closes in, they will need to allow customers in. They also, like most other restaurants, have a reduced menu. I understand that as there are usually items on the menu that don’t sell well and end up being thrown away. What I can’t understand is how the ‘All day breakfast’ can not be included as at most cafés, this is one of the most popular dishes. I was able to order eggs, bacon and beans on toast in a takeaway container with plastic knife and fork which no matter how you look at it, is not the same as a full breakfast including sausages, tomatoes, mushrooms etc on a real plate with metal knives and forks. I fully understand they are trying to be careful and for that I am most grateful. I returned my used tray that was not soiled in any way, and still the girl was straight onto sanitising it so full marks there. As always, the staff were polite and very friendly and the food was good. What I can’t understand is how other restaurants are opening with normal cutlery and crockery, how this café feels the need to be different. If the management do read these reviews, my suggestion is, don’t shoot yourselves in the foot. Your staff are clearly very careful to maintain high hygiene levels and like me, I’m sure people would trust you. Open the café fully as soon as possible, installing the necessary covers to maintain social distancing. I hope to be back really soon.

The Thremhall Park Cafe is a regular stop for my cycling group. There's always a friendly welcome and a good range of light refreshments whether its sandwiches, cake or other freshly prepared food. I've always enjoyed the coffee they serve, and its a good cup of tea as well.Their covid-secure steps are very good, its take-away style service at the moment and there's plenty of seating on the lawn right opposite the entrance to the cafe.

Terrible cappuccino, coffee extremely bitter. Great Rurel location, Especially if you like looking aircraft. Friendly staff.

The people who work at the Coffee Shop as so helpful and polite I just wish the coffee was hotter. This is not the first time I have mentioned it and several friends who also cycle and have visited have also said the coffee is only lukewarm sometimes. I just hope that on my next visit things have improved.

Disappointing breakfast here with my daughter and cannot understand why this place has four and a half blobs/stars. Bacon cold. Poor sausage reheated. Hard yoke on fried egg. Horrible cheap white cut bread. I could go on. The test for me is would I return. The answer is a definite NO. One friendly member of staff. Another was so unfriendly. Don’t expect this. Not recommended.

The service like the cleanliness of the cafe is excellent but the coffee leaves something to be desired. The banana cake was top notch with a strong banana taste and was very moist and fresh.

What a find. On business park on site of old priory and restored Manor House, surrounded by greenery with space to relax or for the kids to play. Had good full English breakfast well cooked and quickly served. Good value. Only open for breakfast and lunch but salads and cakes looked good.

We stayed at the Novotel and decided not to have breakfast at £11.95 pre-booked or £17.95 on the morning, instead we checked out trip advisor and found this little gem in beautiful surroundings.We had a fantastic breakfast, 2 coffees each and at a fraction of the price of the Novotel. Service was quick even though there were a few cyclists calling in as it was a glorious day to eat out doors.Highly recommend.

This is a great little coffee shop situated just off the M11 in a country side setting with plenty of seating outside if the weather is nice. The staff are friendly, it serves great food with plenty of choices on offer and the prices are very reasonable too, they also cater for Gluten Free and are dog friendly.

The location is wonderful and this Sunday we counted 23 bikes parked up. Due to such a massive influx of riders the service was slow as the staff numbers were somewhat limited.However, this doesn't excuse the same disappointment that we had a few visits ago that when the coffee was served up it was not hot enough. This really isn't good enough and it was only because they were so busy we didn't complain. Chatting to other cyclists who are regular visitors, they also thought the coffee was often a hit or miss affair.

Was in the area, impressed by the reviews I decided to stop here for lunch, but what swung it was their Facebook page announcing it was a BBQ day. Glad I went. Locally sourced burger was delicious, was tempted to have a second but decided to hold back for future visitsVery friendly staff, I’ll stick with the 5 star rating, great tasting coffee but really would have loved a larger mug. Can I bring my own next time?Definitely worth a stop by if you’re in the area. I’d say great for plane spotting if you’re content with what Easy and Ryan have to show.

This is a great place to sit outside with your dog and enjoy a bacon sandwich or scrambled egg while throwing the ball! The staff make sure the dog water is clean and topped up and are always pleased to see you. They do a roast too on a Friday I think - highly recommend.

After a plain plane journey, had a welcome late lunch here after picking up the car - much appreciated by my 93yr old Dad! Great quiet location about 10min drive from the airport. Nice fresh sandwiches and wraps, and I'm told the sausage rolls are home-made every week!

A hidden little gem (Thremhall Park), a good coffee shop that has a wide menu. Friendly staff make it a pleasure to enter.

Wow, what a difference. The cafe is still warm and bright, the tables, floor and toilets absolutely spotless, but this time the coffee was great. First-rate flavour and it was piping hot. Looking at the menu there was a variety of light lunches that I would have chosen. Chatting to the manager, I discovered everything is made on site and fresh.

I happen to be there as a regular visitor as I simply love to be there: sitting there in piece and quietness - despite Stansted airport nearby - reading the paper - drinking my cappuccino. Heaven on earth...

The cafe is bright, warm and very welcoming. However, the coffee didn't make the grade. Even with hot milk for my Americano, it was still only lukewarm, as was my partner's latte. The toilets were spotless as was everywhere else.

My sister met me from work on my birthday & took me for lunch. Fortunately the weather was gorgeous so we sat outside and enjoyed a lovely fresh lunch that was brought to our table with a smile. Lovely setting. Hard to tear myself away and go back to the office!

This really is a great find, I have used it at the weekend when out cycling but during the week it is a great location for either coffee meetings or lunch meetings. the service is quick, efficient and nothing is too much trouble. If it is not on the menu they will adapt. I notice that walkers and Mums from gym classes also use it so a really good mix. It is very friendly and welcoming. Absolutely love this place for any occasion, oh, and the cakes :)

What a great place to meet for business,set in stunning well kept grounds and a great in house cafe. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely lunch here with my mother in law and our dog. Peaceful, tranquil setting, friendly staff and a large portioned reasonably priced meal. We will be back!

Unfortunately this cafe has gone down hill over the last couple of months. The food quality is very under par.Cheaper bread - cheap Tescos loaves are used. General food quality is different. The hygiene is questionable. Just all together not an enjoyable experience.

2 x breakfast with tea and toast..£15.50.... I would have thought that it would have at least been freshly cooked instead of microwaved for that price

A hidden gem of a coffee shop. Proper coffee, not instant, hot and cold food served 7 days a week. There’s ample parking, seating on the vast lawns and inside. Friendly staff make it a pleasant stop.

Visited this cafe whilst on a bike ride. It's quite hidden away and never realised it was there before but really liked it. Very nice setting... had two very nice cakes and they were very reasonably priced so I'll be going back again sometime.

Tis lace is tucked away off the old A120 road to takely and can easily be passed by in a car .It is quite reasonable for food and has large area for children to run around as well as outside seating. It is good for visiting if walking in Hatfield forest but have to cross road to get there .Not spectacular but good for break .

Just had a nice coffee and fresh sandwich and tested my newly developed app with a friend. First time in a public space for the latest version! Staff lovely.

A great little Coffee Shop, with very friendly and helpful staff, where you will find a fine choice of both savoury and sweet dishes, cakes and ice creams, all home made and delicious. Visit here for an excellent breakfast , lunch or tea meal.

Free top up of coffee, prices in line with other stops but service exceptional. We were really made welcome and the cake and sandwich selection was good.

Looking for somewhere different for a coffee stop. Stumbled across this coffee shop that offers a complete coffee, cake, sandwich, breakfast, lunch menu including Sunday roasts all at very reasonable prices. Set in large landscaped gardens with inside/outside seating and plenty of free parking. When we visited, there were walkers with dogs (sitting outside) and cyclists as well as what seemed to be regulars. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The menu is not set in stone so you can have any combination you want. Also I think they top up tea and coffee at no extra cost, they simply come round with a tea and coffee pot. Also, no silly cups, simply mugs! Excellent. Half mile from M11, one and a half miles from Bishop Stortford, Stansted Airport and Takeley Village. Ideally placed to call in on way to or from the airport.

Driving in the area and thought I would try this place out and I am pleased that I did.

We stopped here during a long drive for some breakfast. It serves average breakfast fare, it just serves the purpose.

Queríamos un lugar para ir de vacaciones de conducir de la M11 y descubrí este pequeño gran lugar. A cinco minutos de la autopista en el entorno son bastante inusual de un parque de negocios, pero en un entorno muy verde y natural. Hay un montón de aparcamiento, dentro o fuera de asientos, y de un gran valor comida casera. Yo tenía una deliciosa quiche y ensalada del ofertas especiales mientras mi marido disfrutó de un gran rollo de salchichas.

Really great value and a change to the normal Costa Coffee. A real buzz, good food and great value. Use during the week to meet business collegues although alos seems to be used by locals too

Found this place by chance on Sunday. Had breakfast out side. Great value, great full English, free top up, great service. Nice grounds to walk round & if you are Plane spotter right next to the airport runway to watch Jets taking off.

Great cafe with large garden area near to Hatfield Forest. Daily specials, recommend the Hog Roast baguette!

Pick your own strawberries in summer, puck your own pumpkin in autumn. Kids play area and nice lunch. Highly recommend!

Plenty of parking, although its situated within a company building.The staff are fantastic nothing appears to be to much trouble and the short haired waitress ( can I say that) has a beautiful smile.Have had fresh cooked breakfast here several times in the last few weeks, never had any complaints at all.There is plenty of seating inside as it has just been expanded and outdoor as well.Good price for the food service and smiles.

I visited the Cafe on a cycling event and about 50 of us descended on the cafe on a Saturday. I have never seen such a well organised place as they dealt with us quickly, politely and served up great tasting food in a matter of minutes. On top of that they all smiled, laughed and joked with us all and made the visit a delight. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Lovely and polite staff and great food. Not just sandwiches, they also do a full English breakfast and a lovely soup if you're looking for hot food. Very close to the airport if you're looking for somewhere to stop by before (or after) your flight, to sit down and eat before driving home for example.They were happy to customise and replace foods and catered for my two year old's dairy and egg allergy. Very happy about that! :)

Visited today - late in the afternoon. Friendly reception - good food - all served with a smile. Crab really impressive - fresh from Norfolk. Wonderful surprise and very tasty.

This is really a sandwich bar. The food is fresh and fillings generous. Staff don't seem disposed to smile and one suspects that someone's bad moods are affecting the others.The premises are very small and we were tightly packed in but there is seating outside.Not worth going out of you way to visit.

Found this little place through Trip Advisor as we were early & needed some lunch . Had pork & apple burger & a little Italian tipple to get us in the mood . Lovely locally sourced food & extremely friendly staff.

I really like stopping in here, the staff are friendly and service is great. They have different things on the menu each time I go there and nothing is a problem. To top it off the coffee is great too!

I went here for lunch today with a friend after we had been for a run around Hatfield Forest. I can not recommend highly enough. Good range, very well priced, delicious food (I had fish finger sandwich and the best cheesecake I've ever tasted! (Fig & pistachio) and to top it all great service. Very attentive - kept teas topped up etc but gave us enough privacy for a proper girls catch up! 10/10. My new favourite place!

Excellent cafe tucked away near Hatfield Forrest. Very tasty food, large selection and freshly made. Great service from the staff including lending my Son a fleece as he'd mislaid his and we wanted to sit outside in the large garden area! Plenty of parking available.
