After arriving at the coffee shop at 3.30, told that they were closing in half an hour, and if we wanted to sit outside, the tables and chairs would be removed soon, so they could only do take away. That was ok, we only wanted three coffees. Sorry we came in when we did, in hindsight we maybe should have gone to one of the many other coffee shops in Linlithgow, and spent our money there - and sorry for asking how to pronounce the word Neuk.

Went for coffee and cake with a friend. Despite the cafe being empty, we were directed to only sit on the seats on the left which had the built in benches with stools opposite. When we asked if we could sit on the chairs as we wanted to lean back, the waitress said to sit side by side on the benches. This is really a terrible way to treat customers. We walked out and certainly will not be returning.

Amazing service and amazing food!!! The staff here go over and above for their customers! I had fallen ill and needed a birthday cake for my husbands birthday 🎂 it was late and the JJs bakers were closed. The staff at The Coffee Neuk called JJ bakers on my behalf, asked the staff to make me a cake overnight, then the Coffee Neuk girls picked it up for me in broxburn and took it to their cafe in linlithgow where I took my husband for his birthday lunch. The food was excellent and so were the milkshakes. The staff were lovely and showed fantastic customer service! Between the fajita, milkshake, and cake he loved his birthday. Thank you so much ladies. He loved it 🥰

Lovely wee place. If you're looking for food and service that us authentically Scottish, head in here. The white americano in drinking is really decent and the cakes are brilliant. Plus the kitchen smells right. Scottish stovies are clearly made properly.

The last time I visited this cafe was before the 2020 pandemic and I recall having a not bad lunch there. But I have to say that the breakfast rolls and coffees we had were disappointing. My wife could not drink her coffee because it tasted off and although I drank most of mine my stomach was unsettled for the rest of the day. As for the breakfast rolls, they were very disappointing. I had a black pudding and egg roll. Whatever the black pudding was it was like no other black pudding I have eaten. I couldn't finish it.....it was just not nice.

Visited on the 31st January for coffee and cake. Has the Coffee Neuk changed hands? Didn’t have the range of homemade cakes as previously but a lot of tray bakes. They used to always have an amazing cheese cake but I’ve not seen that since before the pandemic. It is still good but different.

Usually have an amazing time at the coffee neuk how ever this was the first time with my 10 month old I knew there wasn't a lot of space so didn't take the pram. There wasnt enough room to put up the high chair they had and staff weren't overly friendly about it either so decided to sit the little one on my lap. We visited today and found the food to be excellent . Its slightly cramped as quite a small place but screens were in place amd staff sprayed tables when vacant. I had the Scottish breakfast which was so good. Everything was hot which is rare when you have a big selection on a plate . The fried egg was perfectly cooked and the black pudding , haggis and sausage were also cooked well. My son had soup and a bagel which also came with lovely coleslaw amd a well dressed side salad. Ordered crispy baked potato with Heinz beans. I’m gluten intolerant. It has to be the worst Jacket potato I have ever had. It was soggy having been cooked in the microwave. The beans were mediocre and not cooked properly and all I could taste was some dressing which they had put on a side salad. Sorry won’t be back. It has been a number of years since we visited the Cafe Neuk. It has been refurbished since our last visit. The service today was so efficient but friendly. We came here for lunch after being driven out of another nearby cafe by the loud piped music. No such problem with the Coffee Neuk. The only noise here was the buzz of friendly conversation from the clientele. I got the impression that most of these were regular customers, which is a good sign. The cafe was very busy (another good sign) but they found a table for us straight away. The seating was a little cramped, but not so much that it was a problem. We were served fairly quickly, and although the lady who served us seemed very rushed, she was still welcoming and friendly. We had no complaints about the food. We ordered soup, baked potatoes, salad and cake. The menu lays no claim to being haute cuisine, but it was more than adequate, both for quality and quantity. And the prices were very reasonable. Note that this was at lunch time. I noticed that they also do afternoon tea for something like £15 per person, which seems remarkably expensive for this sort of establishment, but no doubt their regulars think it worthwhile.I'll definitely come back to the Coffee Neuk next time I am in Linlithgow.

When we visit Linlithgow Palace with our friends we always come here for lunch. Everything is home made and quality of food and service is really good. Today we had Stovies followed by copious cups of tea and coffee. I was lucky enough to get the last piece of cheesecake which was fabulous. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, friendly and efficient. Look forward to the next visit. Thank you.

Very friendly, helpful staff. We were warned of a delay with food because the place was full, but the full food order was out within 10 minutes! Loved the Scottish breakfast and everything was great value.

What a welcome change to go to a cafe near closing, (20mins) and be welcomed in. The lovely staff insisted that it was not to late and made us very welcome. Coffee and homemade empire biscuits were both delicious and very reasonably priced. Definitely be back again.

I got married here in April 2022, from the first meeting Stuart couldn't have been more helpful, we asked for some last minute amends to meals, no issue, there were spare meals on the day due to people not turning up and he dished them out much to my Grandad's delight who put away 6 courses in the end! We also had two guests who were vegan and again, not an issue. We had so many compliments on the food, it was absolutely delicious. We had Razmataz occasions doing the decor/running the day- Andy and Stuart work like a dream team - our day was absolutely perfect. With the two of them in charge, it felt like an expensive hotel wedding but at a fraction of the cost. We were fortunate enough for the weather to be nice so we were able to get out onto the golf course for pictures, Stuart got us a couple of buggies and took us round. The golfers were so kind to let us disturb a couple of their games to let us take pictures. A great venue, with beautiful surroundings and a fantastic team.

Terrible experience. Facebook page said it opened at 11am, it didn’t open until 12, the closed sign stayed on the door until the 4th customer entered and asked if it was open. Took 20mins to get a coffee although we were the only people there. I ordered all day breakfast plus size (extra £3) but the menu didn’t say what you get for an extra £3. It was one piece of haggis & one piece of black pudding, both weren’t great. Sausage was cheap, the egg was overcooked and crispy on the bottom, beans were watery, bacon ok. I asked for toast. It came on top of the breakfast which made it soggy, i had to ask for butter and a side plate for the toast, i got possibly stork, it certainly wasn’t butter, i had to ask for the plate twice. Still only two of us to serve. The salad roll was ok, the coleslaw wasn’t coleslaw, it was chopped up lettuce & cucumber with mayo. It came to £22.00 Not worth the money, service was poor although it was a nice setting. I paid with cash (2x £20 notes) they didn’t have change. I was given £8.00 change and informed the staff i was £10 short. They didn’t have anymore change in the till. Between two staff to ‘mustered’ up a £10.00 note between them. Really really poor you cannot it right (never mind wrong a few times) with two staff for only two customers. I wouldn’t go back if the food was free.
