SUPERB COFFEE! Fabulous Colombian owner who imports her own coffee! She is so friendly and kind and very pleased to chat if you want to. Decent, basic food always hot and tasty. We know it will be a pleasant experience when we go there.

It was the only place in Presteigne that was open besides the sandwich shop across the street, and so we came in for a something to eat. The coffee was ok, but the food was not really one would expect from a cafe, more like something done really quick at home and a bit overpriced. The people running the place were friendly though, so it wasn't all bad.

It was a late afternoon visit after a walk from Kington, that saw us in Presteigne. Only been in the 'shire for 5 years and had no idea this gem was here. It is a bijou, family run business, just what the high street needs. The coffee is stunning and the story behind it wonderful. (Espresso drinkers it's strong but with a chocolate hint). It's cosy and friendly. Will return to try the food as it gets good reviews too. The cakes looked great.

Such a nice, friendly little cafe serving excellent coffee and good brunches. I loved the South American hand sewn pictures on the walls - beautiful detail. We were greeted in a friendly way and my Eggs Benedict came sans ham as requested and were very good.

So wonderful to be able to eat in cafe. The owner and her son are always smiling and friendly and really make the atmosphere in this cosy and relaxed place. The food is always freshly cooked and made with great care and you can sample some of the finest coffee available (not the mass produced environmentally damaging rubbish you might find in the ‘mainstream’). As for an earlier comment about it not being gluten friendly, utter rubbish! Take a look at the menu and there is plenty to chose from (I am also gluten intolerant by the way) and to gripe about not having suitable bread when there is so much else to select seems somewhat small minded. Perhaps some people like to moan so perhaps better that they go elsewhere and don’t drag the rest of us down! The Coffee House is a great place to eat, meet and drink. The mere fact that it is often packed with people waiting for a seat is proof that the positive reviews are right so give it a go, support a small business and get great food at the same time!

Great to be back at this friendly cafe with excellent food. One veggie breakfast, one full English breakfast and two happy customers. Ingredients are quality, coffee personal, food well prepared. Looking forward to our next visit to Presteigne.

Now that cafes and restaurants are opening up again with the relaxation of Covid restrictions I have encountered an increasing reluctance to cater for those who are gluten intolerant. The Coffee House is no exception. On asking if they could provide gluten free alternatives I was told they could not do this as gluten free products are too expensive. Well yes, they are expensive, but I do not think it would overstretch their finances to keep a gluten free loaf (costing £2:00 approximately) in the freezer! Also a bit of imagination is all that is needed to provide interesting gluten free alternatives. Sadly it seems that fewer businesses are willing to make the effort. One to avoid if you are coeliac.

When I received my meal here, there was an extra item I hadn’t ordered. When I pointed this out, Elda, the owner, who had taken my order, came to my table and more or less implied that I was lying about what I had ordered and that the mistake was mine not hers. Her attitude was appalling. Mistakes on food orders are invariably missing items, not extra items, why would anyone ask for something they didn’t want? It’s a shame because Presteigne is lovely and the food was fine.

The Coffee House seems to be the centre of Presteigne during the day with all sorts of people popping in and out. Not surprising at all when you try Elda's Columbian Coffee (see photo), Bacon Sandwiches or the full breakfast if you can manage it! Really sets you up for the day, you won't be disappointed. We even met Olive, a lovely lady who knew our family back in the 40's-50's - that certainly kept us entertained!

Visited with a friend yesterday. Small, homely, clean, welcoming establishment with a hint of South America thrown in. Staff were very warm and pleasant.Home made cakes on offer, variety of sandwiches, breakfasts and an assortment of coffees and teas.We went for a cooked breakfast which was good value and probably the best coffee I have ever tasted. Served in a cafetière with hot milk on the side. I had the Colombian my friend had the Honduran, both were excellent. Interesting hot chocolates were also on the menu. We were told that they had recently started importing their coffee! We will certainly return when in the area again. Unreservedly recommend this place.

We are staying in Presteigne this week and stopped in to have lunch here. I ordered a jacket potato with tuna mayo and sweetcorn. When it arrived it was very large and beautifully cooked. The filling was also very plentiful. My husband had sausage, egg and chips and also said his was great value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed the food in this little cafe. A little gem run by very friendly staff.

Enjoyed a pot of tea and a tasty sandwich in this cosy little coffee shop. Reasonably priced and service good. The dryers had been turned off already when arriving at 2pm which limited the choice available. It would likely be helpful to have a menu for pre and post normal shutting off time. Overall a good find.

This little place is, quite simply brilliant. Offering a great choice of coffee from all over. The food menu is basic but wide ranging. Our sarnies were amongst the best ever. Service is cheerful and our additional requests were met in a very helpful manner. It doesn't look much from the outside but as the saying goes. You can't judge a book by it's cover. As others have written, it's tiny but well worth squeezing into and you will be made very welcome. We had a Venezuelan hot chocolate, a cafetiere of Colombian coffee and a slice of mama's bread pudding. The chocolate was excellent, the coffee was very good and the bread pudding could have done with a little more spice but was otherwise delicious, with plenty of fruit and a slightly crunchy topping. The service was friendly and relaxed. Recommended.

Came in here after visiting the Judge's Lodgings, we walked up and down the main street peeking at several different and perhaps more fancy bistros etc, but more people were eating in here. It's only small, maybe six tables offers mostly English food but with Colombian overtones, when did you last see Perico on a menu? We both had ham and chips, one with egg, one without. Food was freshly prepared, OK, so frozen chips, packet ham but a lovely free range egg. Colombian coffee was good, in retrospect, wish we had tried the Perico served to the next table! Still I feel we got a bette r lunch than in one of the empty bistros.

My husband and I popped into the Coffee House in Presteigne on Wednesday this week whilst we took a break from house hunting, and both my husband and I were very pleasantly surprised at how friendly the staff were and the wonderful meal we had "My Mamas Burger on a Artisan Bun", with salad and curly fries,it was absolutely delicious and the pot of tea was proper tea, not that wishy washy stuff you sometimes get in cafes. All in all it was a lovely day and we cannot reccomend the Coffee House highy enough, if you are there forget the posh resturants try it here. We will be back. Thank you.

We popped in here for a warm drink as the weather was so terrible at the time. I had the (I think) Venezuelan hot chocolate, and my partner had a latte. I must admit, I enjoyed my hot chocolate, but the latte was also delicious - the coffee was not burnt, and it had a lovely caramel after taste. We did not eat here, but the food being served to the other tables did look delicious. A small, but well run coffee shop.

Whilst I usually promote Deli-Licious as a good place to go if you have a Gluten Free (GF) diet, I was recently disappointed by their GF afternoon tea. I was pleased to hear they offered a GF afternoon tea but was left feeling let down by the poor selection and presentation. The normal afternoon tea was presented on either a picnic bench or a three tiered serving stand, mine was just put on a plate with no effort to make it look like everyone else’s in the group, making me feel like an outcast. At a cost of £16.95, it certainly wasn’t value for money.
