I tried the guest roast (Colombian) and it is up there with the best coffee I have ever tried. Staff were really friendly too. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for

Amazing coffee shop serving the best Mocha in the city! I pass here on my commute to work and can’t resist going in (especially for a warmed Cinnamon Roll). The staff clearly know their stuff and are incredibly friendly and up for a quick chat. Fantastic place!

Probably the most fabulous coffee shop I’ve ever visited in Birmingham City Centre. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the coffee tasted absolutely incredible — it truly made my day. Each member of the team clearly knows what they’re doing, which is rare in today’s world where quality is often overlooked and expertise is sacrificed for quantity. I often feel disappointed when so-called “specialty coffee” shops pretend to be part of the third wave but lack real understanding or care. This place, however, is a true exception. I highly recommend it. Thank you!

Excellent coffee! A very small but cosy coffee shop. I popped in while walking by and glad I did. The coffee was excellent and although we didn't get a sweet treat on this occasion I will next time. I did want to stop in for food but because the place is quite small and it was fairly busy at the time I didn't feel we could, but will next time. The staff were incredibly friendly and very chatty, explaining where the coffee came from and what it works well with. Very informative and really passionate!

The Coffee Bar serves fantastic coffee served by passionate, knowledgeable, and highly skilled people. This independent shop serves a house blend and a guest bean. I tried the guest bean from Kenya on my first visit and went back for more each day of my stay in Birmingham. For anyone thinking of using one of the many generic high street coffee brands, stop! Shop better, shop local, give yourself a little cup of joy. Oh, and if you’re peckish then I’d definitely recommend their baklava for a little sweet on the side.

Such a lovely place for quality coffee in the city centre conveniently located near New Street train station. Everything we ordered was perfect. The team is really passionate about coffee and they go the extra mile to offer every customer the best service. I’ll definitely come again if I ever visit Birmingham again. Highly recommend to all coffee lovers.

Visited this gem of a place earlier today and had a great experience at the coffee bar. I ordered a Nutella latte which was delicious, served by Ali and Matty. The service was exceptional from start to finish. They were incredibly friendly, regularly checked on us, and made sure we had everything we needed, including water without us even asking. Their helpful and welcoming attitude really made the visit special. Highly recommend

Collective - meaning "gathering"/"bringing together" of - various drinks and bakes from pretty much all over the world (inc. Asia + South/Central Americas) - and people of all communities/cultures and ages, and even couples, friends and families. Very tasty drinks - such as teas, coffees and hot chocolates, and even iced drinks; glass of water is generously served always whenever you sit in; both house and guest coffees are also served here. Very tasty bakes - such as sweet (e.g. cinnamon bun esp when toasted and warmed up) and savoury (e.g. sandwich toasties like mushroom). Kind, helpful, friendly, considerate, accommodating and knowledgeable Baristas (and Chefs) - they know their drinks and bakes stuff very well, and they're happy to make suggestions/recommendations where required - thereby forming intimate/close interactions/rapport with customers. Comfortable seats, tables and even benches - whether you choose to sit inside or outside. Small but nicely lit and cosy atmosphere with nice music playing in the background inside - however the bar will be moving to a new, bigger building nearby soon (in around June 2025). Stacks of magazines available - different kinds/themes like fashion and interior designs - should you wish to read or entertain yourself (or others) whilst eating and drinking inside. Interesting moments - can provide inspiration (e.g. creative storytelling); pleasant events tend to occur (e.g. meeting new people and making friends with others). I was once greeted by a lovely Labrador belonging to another customer whilst sat inside, which made me feel very happy, hence happy memories are created. Amazing service - both reasonably priced and timely served. Overall, the Coffee Bar is cosy and colourful, and full of amazing artisans - pretty much coming up with creative ideas for new/potential recipes, whether they're drinks or bakes/food.

If you are a coffee lover than this is one of the best coffee shop in the city centre. It's a short walk from New Street Station or the bull ring shopping centre and lots of options to choose from with your drink or even a bite to eat . The owners are friendly and very helpful when ordering.The staff are always happy to serve and genuinely have a personal touch with their customers whether regular ones or customers who have come for the first time. I would recommend the Belgium hot chocolate along with the banana and chocolate chip loaf. The chai latte is delicious and will leave you wanting another cup. Shannon and Al are amazing with their knowledge of drinks and Matthew has always been helpful when we have been.Thank you guys for being a lovely part of Birmingham x

Nothing but the highest quality pourover here. They take quality very very seriously. If you're into speciality coffee, this place knows it's stuff. We've bought beans from this place a few times and staff are always willing to give us home brewing advice. In fact one of their v60 recipes has now become a staple recipe of ours at home. Attention to detail is a way of describing the staff ethos here and it makes all the difference. Used to do food but now only cakes because they're putting resources into opening up a new place, which will have a full food menu, I'm told. Looking forward to going to the new place when it's open. Can't wait, actually.

I happen to chance upon the Coffee Bar, walking through central Birmingham. I am pleasantly shocked at how good the service was especially, the main man personally having a chat with all the customers. He knows coffee really well and his attention to detail is out of the world. All in all if you want to experience coffee and not just consume it, please try it for yourself.

An amazing coffee shop in central Birmingham. We were visiting the city for the first time and called in on a busy Saturday morning. It's compact, but the super-friendly staff brought a table and chairs in for us from outside and served us fantastic coffee. Thanks to Shannon for the local insider tips too!

Had the coffee outside to celebrate a beautiful sunny spring day! The coffee was speciality coffee, which I don't often find in Birmingham, compared to Barcelona (where I'm from) which is full of them. The staff went above and beyond for us to have the best experience. Will come back!

I love this place. I get the tram in from West Brom every week, only takes 15mins. Specialty coffee served by experts who are really passionate about the coffee and always have time to educate you. I enjoy the guest pourover every time we go in. The food is of exceptionally high quality, though they've put that on hold while they get ready to open up their newer bigger location. This one is quite small, but as a benefit, has a neighbourhood vibe/feel where regulars are coming in.

I’m just going to add to the already hundreds of people we have given this place five stars I have never seen that level of passion for coffee before. I ordered a decaf oat Nutella latte Which might sound like some kind of crazy sweet drink, but it wasn’t at all. It was smooth, balanced and amazing. The only shame is that I don’t live locally So I can’t visit this place often.

Seriously enthusiastic about coffee. Went in for a double espresso, they explained the two different blends they had in great detail. Served the espresso with a spoon and water (like it should be!). Seriously good coffee and a proper coffee gem in Birmingham.

I had a fantastic experience at The Coffee Bar in Birmingham! I arrived just as they were about to close, but the staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, letting me order a Matcha latte even at the last minute. Not only was the service exceptional, but the Matcha latte itself was absolutely delicious – perfectly balanced with a smooth, velvety texture and just the right hint of earthy sweetness. It was clear that they use high-quality ingredients and take great pride in their craft.

My go to in Birmingham. The coffee here is always perfect and an experience. I've learnt much from the team and they're always happy to share their knowledge and answer questions. Their hospitality is second to none; the staff are always genuine, so charming and welcoming. This place is a gem🌷

Fantastic service by staff and management

I always try and make the effort to visit this place when in the city. Have always had a pleasant experience and, of course, the coffee is the real deal. They also tend to always stock some incredible beans (I just purchased a bag of delicious 'Square Mile' Red Brick and will be going back for more)!

Love this place. They serve specialty coffee and the staff really know their stuff. The Belgian chocolate mocha was the best I’ve had in a long time. I would also recommend opting for their limited edition bean as they have unique and pleasant notes. My only complaint is - Please consider moving to a bigger place so more people can try your amazing coffee! 🙂

Simply the best service and quality of coffee in the area, by miles. Other places can't even compete. If you're a coffee lover and don't mind paying extra for a premium experience, this is the place for you. The only issue is that it's small, but they're opening a new place nearby soon that will fix that problem too.

Incredible! Al has some of the best customer service I have ever experienced, from opening the door for the customers, to having a truly extensive coffee knowledge. The frozen doses menu has some beautiful coffees on, the care and attention to these coffees is unmatched. Al made room for us and also seemed very supportive of the team through a busy period.

Went here for almost a year once every month. Moved down to London went to more cafe's in four other countries and this one still remains my favourite. Coffee obviously is always great, everytime i come here i get to try some new variety of coffee, the staff are passionate about what they do and the go into details about the product. we weren’t planning on stopping here at first, having tried 2 other brunch places which were closed for food, but third time was the charm and helped us discover a new favourite! such friendly, helpful baristas who very kindly asked the chef (shout-out Eugene!) to make us toasties despite it being past 3, recommended us some excellent cakes to take away, and made some of the best coffee i’ve had on the highstreet in brum!! absolutely fantastic hidden gem with amazing staff, will deffo be retuning
