First time visiting as moving to the village. Made very welcome by all. Very good prices on drinks. Had a lovely Sunday roast. Had so much we couldn't manage dessert! Dog friendly with a proper open fire. Will be back soon. Thanks.

This is a great bar that serves the best tortillas this side of Madrid. Real tortillas, with natural egg and onion, none of those bad Latin American tortillas that never disappoint my aunt la octina and her chihuahua Mr. González. I like it a lot and you can bet your best ten hats that I'll be back soon for more tortilla. They give me strength to fight many bulls!

Great place, we had a drink and some sandwiches and chips all were enjoyable. Sandwiches come with a small side salad. The chips were crispy and hot. Lots of variety of drinks both alcoholic and not. There is a choice of inside or outside seating. Both are good. Will be back.

Well worth a visit,The Cock reminded us of what pubs used to be-no "gastro" here (thank goodness)-just a proper pub serving proper, well kept beer and serving excellent doorstep sandwiches. Remarkably cheap Sunday roasts which we would have tried had we been there on a Sunday. Good atmosphere with local regulard.

This is like an old traditional pub. Tthe pub is open all day. It was around 3.30 when we arrived we wanted something to eat and were told that they only do sandwiches. I had a lovely tuna mayo salad on white doorstep and my friend had ham & mustard both came with a salad garnish and few crisps and were very good sandwiches. Shame I dont live nearer.

We were out on a walk around the local area and chanced upon this pub not expecting it to be open at lunchtime. However, it was and what a pleasant surprise it was. From the outside, it looks a bit tired but that's part of its charm, I think. Have to agree with an earlier reviewer stating that it is a proper old boozer with a mysterious landlord, some lively locals and a perfect pint of Abbot. There was only sandwiches available but these turned out to be door step whoopers - very nice and filling! All in all, a very pleasant hour spent in this cosy pub and would certainly re-visit if we were ever in the area again.

We stopped here on our walk desperate for some nice pub grub. The pub is a proper old inn with no Farrow and Ball paint thank goodness! We sat out in the covered seating area and had great doorstep sandwiches with proper cheese - not out of a pre-grated packet, and nice ham with fresh salad. Half a cider and a few crisps on the side made it perfect! Really good price as well. These are the kind of pubs that we will mourn when they have all gone. Wish we were here at the weekend to try the roast!

Beautifully cooked and at a very reasonable price ...wonderful old pub on a warm Sunday lunch time ....what could be better ...Highly recommended but get there early as I guess places are limited in a small country pub ,but well worth the effort for a 'home cooked ' dinner of superb succulent beef and vegetables. A halfway stop during a circular walk from Lavenham, the Cock Inn is a little gem of an unspoilt, traditional country pub. Adnams bitter in very fine form and I was delighted to find a very well kept Tally-ho on tap too. The menu is limited - sandwiches and jacket spuds with a good choice of fillings plus a few hot, main meal choices. We ordered jacket potatoes which were extremely generous in size and came with a good portion of salad - all very tasty. Great beer and food prices too, and a friendly pub cat to make a fuss of.

The new owners need to really get their act together. We booked here to have our work Christmas meal. The advertised special Christmas menu was not available so we had to have the normal menu. The meals were ok but not what I had booked for.....however, that paled into insignificance when the waitress came up to our table after our main course and said "would you like coffees to end your meal".....We said we would like a dessert first. " sorry but there are no desserts!"!!!!

We had been here as a couple twice before but on this day we took our family in for Sunday lunch. What a breath of fresh air as always! No hidden charges and food was amazing, all home cooked, fresh and very large portions for adults with smaller for the two little ones, could not fault this place at all, nothing too much trouble and like 'popping to grandmas' for a good old fashioned roast dinner with home made roll poly and spotty dick for pudding! Drinks also great and doesn't cost a fortune. Perfect for a family meal although quite small so get in quick to grab one of the tables! Traditional games for the children and no blaring music so you can actually speak to each other! Unspoilt pub that's not been tainted by the passage of time.. we love it!! Two small rooms, one of which served as the dining room which had two tables (one for a couple and the other a rather large one accommmodating 8) (no tablecloths!). The menu was pretty basic and we opted for the daily special of Chilli and rice which was plentiful and excellent (very good value), but we were surprised that 45 minutes elapsed from ordering to being served, as we were the only customers eating!
