The Coalgate in East Lothian

The Coalface was a community orientated village pub. The food was good, and the staff friendly.

I got chicken with Diana sauce but their was no mushrooms and sauce was very mild no taste

Love the coalgate so do the kids. Jack and rest of staff are great.. the food is amazing best bar/restaurant in the lothians!

First visit to The Coalgate and boy were we pleased, friendly staff nothing to much, only happy to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Food first class, long time since I've tasted chicken so moist, excellent all round. Difficult to fault the place, good value for money. One thing, but only a small thing, some background music would be nice, otherwise will be back very soon.

What a great little pub very friendly staff and great food. The Sunday roast dinner was amazing.

Great local pub. Went in for a drink and something to eat on a cold day. Had a really tasty bowl of homemade soup. The beer (Belhaven) was good. Really friendly welcome so a huge plus when visiting for the first time. Will definitely go back. And most definitely recommend this place if your in the area. All in all a good honest pub with friendly locals and staff.

Went out for dinner with friends for my birthday on a Friday night. I was not disappointed, the staff were friendly and food was great and flavourful. I got the chicken strips with honey as my starter and then the fish and chips for my main. The chicken was juicy and the batter was crispy. The fish was amazing and the chips were fluffy. I would recommend going in for a meal as I will be back for food next time I'm in town.

Dawn was an excellent hostess and Trish’s steak was awesome. Needs a visit. So friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing.

Went for lunch with my wife today, heard loads of good things about the place and it didn't disapoint. Made to feel extremely welcome and the food was excellent. Deffo be back.

Friendly pub, polite staff and very hospitable if you're trying to organise a small event I.e. fund raisers or small party etc..

This doesn't sell Real Ale as all of my post's link too BUT they held a wake for my family today & could not do enough Thank you to The Coalgate for everything you did you are a community pub now the only one in Orminston apparently

Best wee bar ever, if you like real bars for real working folk.. not many left like this..love it.
