A lovely night with great quality food and wine. joshim was very friendly and helpful, made us feel at home.

Anniversary dinner and we were both delighted with the food and service. All the staff were very attentive and helpful. Once again a fantastic evening. The only query I have is why is the food served on cold plates?

This is the perfect steakhouse. Super delicious food and lovely service. They gave us a detailed introduction to different steaks, and gave good recommendations based on what we wanted. We also ordered a bottle of Argentinean Malbec and it matched our food very well. Very happy with our experience and will definitely come back again!

Recently moved to the area and went here for our first meal out in Musselburgh for my birthday. Food was really good and good service. Lights maybe a little bright which takes away from the atmosphere - but that's a minor note

Great visit to the fully booked steakhouse on a Saturday night. Drinks are prompt. Food Did take 45 mins alongside the other tables who ordered the same time as me. This doesn’t bother me as we had nowhere to be and liked the atmosphere and drinks. When the food comes it is so worth it. We got the sharer steak options and it was amazing value for money. Cannot recommend this place in Musselburgh enough. The bordelaise sauce is to die for

Lovely dinner would highly recommend the lamb steak and chimichuri. Great service showing us in person all the difference steak cuts and specials of the day. Please note parking can be limited in Musselburgh high street.

Possibly booking a table is recomendable. Once you manage to sit down, they want you out rather quick. But the meat is excellent!!

Absolutely delicious steaks! I was advised to have mine well done as I am pregnant. Normally, I'd much prefer a medium rare steak, so I was worried it might be dry, but I was very pleased to be wrong - even served well done - the fillet steak was mouth-watering and went beautifully with the Salsa Verde. Despite having a small appetite at the moment, I demolished the lot and even went for the rice pudding after which didn't disappoint either. We will definitely be back again!

My wife and I enjoyed a 2 course meal in this restaurant 13/05/24. I had a 14oz rump steak and my wife had an 8oz rib eye (medium). Both were perfectly cooked and thoroughly enjoyable. The service was excellent. Deserts were also excellent. So good we have booked a table in 3 days time. Comfortable clean recently refurbished to a very high standard.

It was a spontaneous decision to stop there and eat. This was a great decision. We had the best steak and burger here in a long time. The service, especially Dina, were highly motivated and very on point to make the guests' stay as relaxed and comfortable as possible. We would like to come back, but "unfortunately" we are on vacation here and will be back home soon. Keep it up, it was all worth it.

Went here for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. We went for the sharing board and both the sirloin and ribeye were mouthwatering. Next time we come here we're ordering the ribeye steak! Staff were very attentive and helpful as well which was lovely.

Everything was absolutely fantastic here for my sons 30th birthday meal. The staff were excellent as was the food. Especially my lamb steak and dauphinoise potatoes. Delicious. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Food was so delicious, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We went on a Wednesday evening and the place was quite busy. Really lovely to see people eating locally.

My husband and I will 100% be returning! I'm not a steak fan but my husband is, they have other options so I decided to book for our anniversary. They bring out a tray of all the different cuts and explain what's what and how they recommend it to be cooked. Th food was phenomenal! And the desserts oh my yum! If you haven't been I would highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed! EDIT Not a steak fan me, had rump tonight (21/9/23) and it was delicious!! Would definitely have it again which isn't something I thought I'd ever say about steak! Fantastic restaurant!! Always leave feeling full and satisfied! Highly highly recommend! EDIT (14/10/23) They have a new small selection of cocktails now available which just adds to all the reasons why this is mine and my husbands favourite place to go! EDIT (6/3/24) Pinion rings and corn on the cob are fantastic sides to accompany your stake. Which I have quickly became a fan of! If you haven't already definitely give this place a try, you won't regret it!

I’m really confused. There is nothing here that resembles anything to do with Argentina or “Buenos Aires” and I bet that even the beef is not from Argentina. The decor is ok and staff are friendly, but when you go to an Argentinian restaurant (you might as well disagree) you want that cultural experience as well as trying the authentic Argentinian cuisine in this case, but all the staff were Indian I believe and I bet even the Chefs and the owner are Indian too. Again, perfectly fine with me, but why calling it Bueno Ayres with the wrong spelling on top of it? Maybe the majority of customers have no idea how people from Argentina look like (no offense)which is very possible or they are simply just happy to have a nice local steak in an Indian restaurant with an Argentinian name. I guess this is what fooling people is about. Anyway, please, change the name of the restaurant and stop taking the p….🥸

I came here twice with my girlfriend, first time was amazing, customer service was great and atmosphere was good as well, the food was perfect and delicious! The second time however was a lot worse, we could hear a lot of shouting in the kitchen from inside the restaurant. We ordered the sharing tomahawk for two medium rare, they brought through the steak and it was definitely very rare, (I wouldn’t have complained about this but my girlfriend gets queasy about that stuff). I then apologetically asked for the steak to be put back on for a bit, they complied but an older waiter came out and tried to tell me it was perfectly cooked and that I was wrong! Extremely rude and condecending! Dissapointed as the food was good and the rest of the staff were very polite. The picture shown only shows a small pice which wasn’t even as bad as the rest of the massive steak.

Fantastic food, great service and lively atmosphere

Family is from Uruguay and Argentina so we’d wanted to visit this for a while now but couldn’t as we have an infant. Finally went this weekend (with baby) to celebrate the birthday of a dearly loved but recently deceased relative and it was a wonderful meal. Baby didn’t make any fuss or disturb others but I wouldn’t have blamed staff for not wanting children or babies, though they welcomed us warmly. The food was fantastic and brought back many wonderful memories. We hope to be back soon.

We had a lovely family meal here just after Christmas and everyone had a lovely evening. We all had steak with a selection of sides, my ribeye was cooked to perfection, as you'd expect and the mac n cheese and fries were seasoned nicely and the chimichurri and beaurdolaise sauces were all incredible as well. We were a little disappointed as we had spent 20 minutes looking at the menu and chatting before people had decided kn tomahawks and another sharing dish, only to then be told there were none of either. Being told at the beginning what wasn't available would have made a bit more sense. But our steaks were lovely and it was a busy little spot in a convenient part of Musselburgh. Desserts were lovely, my panna cotta was nicely balanced and everyone seemed happy with theirs. My partner's father didn't enjoy his rice pudding dish however and they kindly took it off the bill without being asked so I can't fault them for that. All in all a lovely meal and we may be back again.

High expectations with all the great things I’ve heard from this place and it did not disappoint. Great professional service throughout the evening to pair with the outstanding food on offer. Empanadas & padron peppers to start, T-bone cooked to perfection and the perfect way to end the meal with the Dulce de leche cheesecake. Amazing wine list with something for everyone’s taste. Already looking forward to the next visit.

Unfortunately I was a little bit disappointed overall with the food I had on the occasion I was there. But I’ll break it down, I had the lamb croquettes for starters which I did enjoy, and then picked the 16 oz t bone done medium, and unfortunately it wasn’t a good choice as it had far too much grizzle around it which I struggled to even cut off (they need to get proper steak knives 🤷‍♂️) sides where very disappointing the Steak chips were overcooked frozen chips the onion rings batter although crispy was not nice and the cooked spinach wasn’t seasoned seasoned. The Malbec wine was nice but after looking at the sweet menu I felt none of it matched with having a steak This place just won a big award so I was excited about going, however I was disappointed with the food so 🤷‍♂️ for transparency others in the company enjoyed their steak so maybe it was the choice although my daughter had the burger and it came with a burnt bun 🙄 Overall I expected better but hay-ho there you go

If you like steaks then this is a great restaurant to visit. The staff are very friendly and provide great service. They will show you all the different cuts of steak they sell and explain each of them and what is the recommended way for cooking and were the steak is sourced from. Also have a duck, lamb and chicken option if your not into steaks. Also have a varied wine selection and they have started doing cocktails aswell. Have found this to be a great restaurant to go dine at and have enjoyed the experience Everytime.

Heard from a friend about this hidden gem of a steakhouse in Musselburgh and being huge meat lovers we had to give it a visit. We were pleasantly surprised and not disappointed at all. The starters were outstanding and then outclassed by the main course which was well balanced with a fine bottle of red wine. What can be said about a 35 day dry aged steak other than it melts in your mouth. To the staff and the most important one the guru in the kitchen well done we loved every minute and will be back for more.

Nice restaurant, great selection of steaks! Good quality meat and cooked properly. I can't say that is a spacious restaurant, lack of space and not so suitable for families with kids however they do have kids menu. The toilets need some refurbishment to be looked after more.

This is our fourth or fifth time visiting Bueno Ayres for steak and it has never disappointed us. The staff are always wonderful and the steaks are cooked to perfection. I always have a hard time choosing what to have as everything on the menu looks appetizing. We always have a wonderful time and we will definitely be back!

We went to this beautiful restaurant for our anniversary and we loved it thoroughly. The food is exceptionally good. The steak is to die for. Excellent food, perfectly cooked steaks. Asparagus with hollandaise sauce was perfect. Normally, I find hollandaise sauce too overpowering, but this was perfect. The staff explain all the different cuts of meat with the help of a tray containing examples. The starter had plenty of flavours, thanks to the char grilling. They're opening a new and bigger restaurant shortly. It's definitely worth a visit.
