My wife and I have just left the coachman and let me say first of all what my wife had she was quite happy with, however I asked for steak and sausage pie and what I received was a steak, sausage and vegetable pie which was not what it said on the menu, if the steak pie contains vegetables then the menu should reflect that. When I raised this with the waitress she seemed to find it amusing and suggested we stay away from it, whether she meant the pie or the coachman I'm not sure. To close the point if I buy a steak pie from a reputable butcher it does not have vegetables in it and neither should a steak and sausage pie. I have probably had thousands of steak pies in restaurants and to date but only recently I have had 3 with some sort of vegetables in them this being the third so it seems to be a recent trend obviously so they don't have to put as much steak in it. So I would hope that in future the menu will either reflect that the pie also contains vegetables or the vegetables are removed, that way it is what it says on the tin.

This is a hotel, restaurant and bar. The restaurant and bar area is very large but as there is lots of screening which helps cut down noise and provide some degree of privacy.  A nice touch at the bar is it having hooks to hang jackets on. The screening is decorated with plastic foilage/flowers.  There is a fairly large menu and also a Sunday roast menu. There is also a good selection of beers, wines and cocktails. I was with a group of 5 and we were all generally happy with the food.  However, I found my choice of Chicken Balmoral to be a bit bland and the chicken was a bit tough. The desserts were good.  The staff were friendly and service was good. It is popular with young families/birthdays.

Went for a family birthday meal there were 14 of us ageing from 6 months to 76 years. The food was lovely the atmosphere was pleasant. It was definitely one of our families better birthday meals and we all had an excellent time.

The best compliment I can possibly pay to The Coachman is that it is perfectly 3 stars. No bells or whistles but it gets the basics spot on. Myself and my partner stayed here for 1 night on the 07/09/24 as part of our anniversary celebrations. The attractiveness of the location, being in close proximity to Stirling Castle and Blair Drummond, two locations which we were visiting on our trip, was the primary reason for our choice of this Hotel. First impressions were not great, the facade of the building is a bit rough looking. However, upon walking into the reception we were quite impressed. The Stairs up to the rooms aren't particularly wide and we both almost went tumbling down as we weren't paying enough attention! So be careful when going down these stairs. The room was very basic, a small double bed, a rather large TV; compared to the miniscule ones that hotel rooms generally have, a small storage bench with a few hangers, a desk which houses tea/coffee making facilities. As I had mentioned there’s nothing particularly special about the room but everything that you need is present including a hair drying and ironing facilities (upon request from reception). My only possible gripe about the room was the carpet which was rather dated and reminiscent of a stagecoach bus seat. The bathroom in the room was lovely, it had clearly not long been done up. Not much to say really, toilet, shower and sink. I had a couple of issues with the shower: - Firstly the doors open in a strange fashion which myself and my partner, who are both quite slender in figure, struggled to get out at times. Not massively but enough for us to find it annoying. I don't think much could be done about this in fairness given the limitations of the space. Secondly, there was nowhere to site our Shower gels/shampoo within the shower. Again, not a missive deal but a small shelve suctioned onto the wall would solve this. The hotel has a restaurant and bar integrated and also bolsters a lovely beer garden. We decided to sit and have a couple of drinks outside and actually ended up spending most of the night out here, as a few of the tables have heat lamps meaning so long as its dry you could comfortably sit there until it closes, which is an excellent touch. We then ordered food to our outdoor table, I chose the Mushroom and Peppercorn Balmoral and my partner opted for her favorite, Fajitas. I’ll start with my dish. I was not particularly looking forward to eating it upon its arrival as it did not look the most appetising. However, I don't let the look of food put me off so I dug in. I really wasn't all the impressed and would not recommend anyone gets this dish, there was far too much sauce which was very overpowering. It also made it difficult to ensure you had finished all the chicken! My Partner had a totally different experience, her fajitas arrived on a 3-tier tower, an excellent was for these to be presented. The chicken was delicious, the veg was cooked to perfection and they had no issue swapping out the sour cream for extra cheese. We also ate breakfast the next morning which was excellent. So I'd strongly advise trying the restaurant but perhaps stay clear of the Balmoral. The atmosphere was great, with live music in the restaurant, a lively bar and a peaceful beer garden. Could not fault it at all, a great mix of people and lots of locals in which is always a great sign. To summarise, The Coachman is the perfect 3-star hotel. It is the epitome of value for money at £113.40, including breakfast. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area that they consider The Coachman.

Rooms clean, comfortable and simple. Where this place excels though is the food! Breakfast was really good, super fresh and well cooked. It gave us confidence the restaurant at night would be alright. Thank god we tried it and ate there. The menu was excellent, food was exceptional really and the value was great too. We paid £120 for 4 mains, 4 desserts and drinks which I thought was really fair. The plates were presented like a good quality restaurant and the food was so tasty. The restaurant was packed out despite being in a small town which is always a sign of good food. Atmosphere was great in the bar. All round fantastic. I would go back in a heartbeat. Staff all super friendly too.

The breakfast was also very nice and fulfilling. We booked through booking dot com and got a great deal for this room. There's plenty to do around this area like hiking 🥾 ECT.

It was my first visit to this venue today and we dropped in for brunch. The restaurant was clean and well laid out, the service was speedy, the staff were friendly, the food was tasty and portion size was filling. We bought some of the lovely baking on offer to take away and I thoroughly enjoyed mine tonight!

Solid hotel with a better than expected restaurant and bar, nice outside seating and really good waiting staff. Parking is mainly to the rear with a slightly sloping tarmac car park (doable for motorbikes if you're careful). Food options were varied with some superb looking desserts and cakes. Rooms are decent, Wifi was good and easy to access, bathroom was fine. Good option and reasonably priced.

Local to us, but the first time we have been. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay over. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Even though the restaurant was busy, service was quick, and the staff really polite. The food was lovely. We had the Coachman platter to start, and it easily fed 4. My husband has the Korean Mac and Cheese and said it was the best he has had! I wanted dessert but not right then, so I had one to take away. The price was really reasonable. We ate off of the main menu, but they do have a fixed price Sunday Roast menu with great options and a children's menu also with good choices and good portion sizes. Will definitely be back
