Fabulous Sunday roast and a very reasonable price. The best cauliflower cheese ever tasted and vegetables cooked to perfection ( usually too hard elsewhere ). Loads meat and just so tasty. A large jug of gravy and 4 vegetables served separately in a dish. Definitely recommend

The staff who are very friendly, welcoming, and helpful fitted us in with virtually no notice. We had a Sunday roast dinner carvery style which was cooked 'better than home cooked.'The bar has a great selection of drinks including hand pulled bitter. Whoever did the decor in the Pub did a grand job because the way it has been done, you immediately feel relaxed. I've already recommended it to all my friends and family, and we'll definitely be returning. Thanks for everything.

Get yourself down here ASAP! Great food, great hosts and very reasonable pricing with huge portion sizes. Extensive menu with a mix of traditional pub food and more creative additions. Really friendly and relaxed place, thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and will definitely be back next time we visit. I was looking like a mess after a long day birdwatching and felt self conscious until the staff and locals were so friendly I could tell no one judged. Recommend the gammon but everything looked nice. Also LOADS of really delicious and unusual vegetarian options! We ate at the tables but there were some really cosy-looking sections that looked great for having some relaxed drinks in. Can't recommend it enough and will be back next year.

We’ve just ordered a takeaway from here and we will definitely be ordering again. The vegetable lasagne was absolutely delicious, the cheese burger was tasty, fresh and not greasy, onion rings were home made and tasty, and the cheesy street fries were a standard portion but very generous with lots of cheese. Everything was well packaged and when we arrived home the food was all still really hot. See you again soon as we will definitely be back. The young gentleman behind the bar was very friendly and lovely to talk to while our food was brought out, thank you to everyone 😃

We have been here a few times and the food is always tasty. Our recent visit was no exception. Our food was lovely. The only things I would of changed would be providing butter for the mushroom and bread starter and adding a bit of seasoning or chargrilling to the chicken kabab. These were more of a personal preference however and I really did enjoy the food. The yogurt dip that came with my kabab meal was gorgeous when combined with the chunky chips and I loved the sundae we got for dessert. My dad and brother loved their meals. My dad said the sticky toffee pudding reminded him of Christmas cake; he loves Christmas cake. We had a fab time and even tried the pub quiz. Thank you for having us; I’m sure we will be back again soon.

The Coach and Horses is my go-to local. They do amazing food at incredible prices and always have stuff for us non-gluten folk. Everyone there is fantastic too. They did an amazing Valentines menu but the St Patrick's Day menu I had tonight was incredible. I loved the cottage pie with colcannon mash and fresh veg but the chocolate and guinness pot for dessert was to die for. Out of this world. And gluten free. Thank you so much!

I had eggs benedict, which was great. The wife had the carvery style breakfast and enjoyed it and then as we had never tried pancakes with bacon and maple syrup we shared one. Delicious food and very friendly staff serving us. It was very busy when we visited and they squeezed us in at the back in the conservatory. The food was wonderful but due to how busy it was we had a long wait for it to arrive and between courses. There was also a very drunk woman at a nearby table whose language was less than ideal for a family pub. Would definitely visit again for the food but would do so on a quieter day.

I researched places to go for Sunday lunch before we headed to East Yorkshire for our holiday and this place had some fab reviews. I was therefore quite disappointed. We weren't clear whether there was table service or not, and waited ages, but no-one came. We went to the bar to order and were told to retake our seats. It was most confusing.I had beef - and the meat itself was nice - but the Yorkshire pudding was overdone and the veg so so. Plus NOT ENOUGH gravy. Cardinal sin.Poor hubby is a coeliac. Now he can generally have a roast dinner (not the Yorkshire of course, but meat, veg, potatoes). All he needs is a gluten free gravy. It really doesn't take much doing. But no - they couldn't.Gluten free options were few and far between and he ended up with fish, with some vegetables and fried mushrooms and onions. It was really odd.To be fair, the woman from the kitchen (may have been the chef, not sure, so apologies) did try to help, but obviously didn't know much about gluten. It was probably an off day in off season, but I wasn't impressed. It wasn't busy - just two other couples, a few people at the bar and that was it.Plus there was no loo roll in the ladies. Grrr.

Living quite local to this pub we have tried it a few times now. Last night 16/03/17 we decided to go again for tea after our favourite pub ( for food) wasn't cooking. As soon as we entered we were greeted by a beautiful young girl who gave us a lovely welcoming smile. We sat at a table and she immediately brought us our menus and said hello. My husband went to the bar and the young guy was equally as nice, he was keen to chat and have a bit of banter with hubby. So, we decided we were going to order Sam's burger for me and Sirloin steak for hubby. 20 mins later my meal came first and it was presented absolutely beautifully and it had everything on it the menu said it would. But when my husbands came out the first thing we noticed ( being butchers for a number of years) , the steak wasn't in fact sirloin, it was rump. Now, not only is there a big difference in taste , there's also a big difference in the price. We asked the young girl why it was rump and she immediately apologised and said she'd go ask the chef. She came back from the kitchen and said the chef said it comes local from Mike Wilson butchers and is pre packed with the cuts of meat saying what it is ie; rib eye, sirloin etc. The annoying thing is that the menu doesn't include rump just rib eye and sirloin. The young girl asked us if he wanted a different meal making but obviously mine was there and we went to eat together. I must say though , my husband ( although he isn't keen on rump) said the chef had cooked it to perfection and again the presentation was lovely. His chips are to die for , lovely thick homemade and fried perfect. We haven't been put off by this and will definitely be going back but won't be ordering the steak unless it's guaranteed to be sirloin before chef cooks it. It is a bit overpriced but I suppose the young staff and presentation of the meal makes it worth a treat now and again. The young waitress and young barman and the chef are a credit to the pub. I would suggest to the chef though to brush up on his beef cuts to ensure people are getting the steak they are paying for.!

So the choice was kiss me quick food in Withernsea or the. advised by B&B owner, the Coach and Horses. So read reviews and booked the Coach and Horses even though the reviews did make intresting reading. Turned up and the landlady was as abrupt as some reviews note, OK I used to be a Northerner so can be similar so let that one pass, the young waiter was his in attentive self also as noted in other reviews and as not a regular need service at half hour intervals. On balance the food quality against cost ended up as ok to good. However will only go to average overall as really could do better with attention to detail and maybe even attention to unknown public. Oh and the beer was incorrectly labelled and even after quetioning the lightness of the mild was told in a very 'you know nothing way' that it was as badged only to note it been changed soon after. That just about summed it up.

Straight up: I am not a born Yorkshire man, lest alone a East Riding man. But my partial , paternal connections give me confidence. Coach and Horses has been mostly perfect. since opening. If C & H changed, I would have to not only leave Welwick, but quite probably EU.

On our first visit my sons steak was off, but these things can happen so it didn't put us offSecond visit the carling went off and the young lad behind the bar couldn't fix it as the land lady wasn't there. One stella was OK but the second was flat. My dad's steak was that tough it was impossible to eat. When he told the even younger waiter he said do u want a steak knife or shall I cook it longer ( bless him). He was very friendly and polite, but the response said it all. Both the mix grills had tough meat on the plate and were quite poor. The steak pie I had was good but my wife's was half the size and with a very small crust.Unfortunately what could be a nice little local eating place was a bit of a let down. In my opinion it was purely down to the lack of management presence (seemed to be all teenagers) and I did not see anyone else. Oh and change your steak supplier, I would rather pay more ang get quality. All other meals were OK though

Me & my partner found this little pub just by the off chance whilst we were away on the east coast. It wasn't too far from where we were staying and did not find it until near the end of our holiday. This pub is fantastic value for food and all homemade and cooked to order. Can't fault anything, the staff, the pub,the food were all exceptionally lovely. Know where to go now for our dinner/lunches when we are out that way again. Highly recommend

We have visited coach and horses on many occasions as we drive past it daily from easington, to hull...the welcoming is always warm and the food is very good, the service is very good, and the two young gentlemen serving are always cheerful. They always have a guest cask on to offer, and my husband always says the lager is very good, nice and clean throughout, and a beautiful setting in the quaint village of Welwick. So when you pass, pull over and pop in...a little gem

Visiting family in Withernsea, we were needing a place for lunch, and this place was recommended. You would drive past it and think twice (as we did - it doesn't look up to much). But hunger won, so we drove down the lane to the car park and took a chance. I'm really glad we did. The old-world charm inside was lovely, and the place was pristine. The beer garden was cleverly upgraded with astroturf and nice seating, walled with well-tended garden. The waitress was charming - very attentive, chatty, couldn't have been nicer. The food was delicious (two plates of scampi, one of quiche - lovely side salad and chips to accompany all three). Three drinks. All for £16!!! I couldn't believe it (I actually handed the waitress £40 automatically, expecting to be asked for £20-30 because the meal was so good). A fantastic lunch for the whole experience - surroundings, service and food. Thank you so much. Oh, and sorry for almost driving by - I'm so glad I didn't.

After reading some of the reviews on here we decided to give it a go for Sunday Lunch. The staff are lovely really friendly from the landlord to the great guys serving the food, however, the food was really just average which was rather a shame because it's a really nice place. We will try again but maybe try something else from the menu.

Upon arrival at the bar, my partner and I were greeted by a friendly, banterous natural blonde behind the bar! After chatting with her husband (Tom Cruise out of Cocktail) we felt welcomed into the village 'hot spot'. The fine cuisine produced by the Welwick's own master chef was both filling and delicious. The service was top notch as our waiting staff encouraged us to try a tested dish. Thank you to the staff.

Always a good pie on the menu. We visit about once a month when we fancy pie for tea. The beer is kept well with some good guest beers usually on tap.

We travel from Leicester annually to visit friends & family. Second time we have chosen this Pub to have a pint and a meal. The menu provides a good choice although we have not experimented with two many dishes, and have stuck with previous choices two of us had steak and kidney pie. The meat content first class and the short pastry is definitely home based. Very Tasty!!! Two had scampi v.g. Haddock & Chips batter first class and fillet white as driven snow. The price extremely and would have cost double in LeicestershireWaitress cheerful and a good at her job...

Recently reopened with new owners the Coach and Horses is a friendly warm place. The beer is excellent and the food is typical pub fare with the occasional daily specials, all portions are generous. The Bar staff are welcoming and the serving staff are helpful and accommodating. After several visits I can say that it is a good place to eat and drink. There is on street parking and the Village Hall car park is only seconds away.

I visited with my family, when the meal arrived it cold, but worse the barmaid was rude "do you want anything else" well I would if it was too much trouble! The staff do look smart in their all black uniform however on occasion we have visited, some of the staff have far too much makeup on. It is a small village pub but would say I would go again but not out of my choice

Four of us having Sunday lunch. We ordered lamb shanks , Sunday roast and braised steak. The lamb was supposed to have mint gravy.. It didn't, the braised steak was in a thick jelly like sauce and the roast dinner had rock hard roast potatoes. The waiter was rude and the waitress spilt my red wine over an expensive top I was wearing. No point complaining, the waitresses were just children and no manager on the scene. An awful experience.

We visited through recommendation here as we heard really good reports about the place. Our first visit here will not be the last !. We was made to feel extremely welcome by the barman on arrival, great selection of drinks available. The lovely young waitress is a credit to you all, very professional. Beautiful Sunday lunch, so fresh and tasty it was gorgeous, beef was cooked to perfection, and at the price of £4.95 each, whats not to like? will be returning very shortly. Thank you for a lovely time, Highly recommended

We just happened to be passing this unprepossessing looking spot on the way to Spurn Head and decided to stop for lunch. Three different 'specials' were all thoroughly enjoyed, portion sizes were good and the value for money superb. Flowers on each of the tables gave the place a cheery air and we'd look nowhere else if passing that way again. Really good.

This was our first time here and it was recommended by a friend. As you walk in you are presented with the bar and a small pool room. Around the side of the bar is the restaurant which also goes into the conservatory. We got a warm welcome by the staff and there is a good choice of hitters and larger. The is enough on the menu to have a good choice of starters which all cost less than £4. I had the rib eye steak which came with fries, salads, onion rings and garden peas. It was cooked just the way I wanted and asked for and was well presented. The OH had surf and turf and again looked and tasted good. Would we go again? Defiantly Nice pub and food in an area that does not have a lot.

We visited the Coach and Horses on New Year's Eve for a family lunch, four adults and three children. It was a bit busy but service was excellent.Four had fish and chips and three had the steak and ale pie. Excellent quality, good friendly service in a great little pub. Prices for food and drinks are really good value.Food is traditional pub grub, served in a friendly atmosphere. The pub is gaining a great reputation and is now one of our favourites.

We stopped in on a Tuesday late afternoon. There was only one table occupied so it was nice and quiet. We both had double scoop cones. There were loads of ice cream flavours to choose from. Yummy.

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you
