Great, unique venue with a lively yet cosy atmosphere and one of the best places in Bristol to have a drink and see talented, interesting musicians perform. Staff also very friendly and welcoming.

I am surprised of the "excellent" reviews. Our experience was terrible. The Sunday roast dry. The gravy was made clearly with a stock. The Pudding was cold and just take out from the fridge. The vegetables salty. Disgusting.

Good vibe. Some fancy beers on tap. If I'm paying £6 for a pint, not too sure why I need to pay a cup deposit for a plastic cup. Or if it should be in a plastic cup at all on a non rowdy, not very busy Thursday night. The plastic cup didn't even have a picture on it?!? Food was nice afew weeks ago. Nice garden smoking area.

This place is just amazing, the food is incredible, all small plates, we shared almost the entire menu between 3 of us and everything was so so good, really well presented and beautiful flavours. Staff also really lovely, welcoming and friendly, highly recommend!

Visited with friends for Sunday roast after hyped up recommendations. Service Overall it wasn’t great, our waitress was nice but definitely not knowledgeable of the menu. One of the drinks was Bloody Mary for which we waited for 40mins (I do not joke, as one of my friends pinged out that they were on a second drink whilst waiting on the cocktail). When it finally arrived it was nothing but a pint of tomato juice with ice and lemon. Had to return, waited for another 15 mins to get the drink, with no apologies or anything whilst we had to tell them how to make it. Food Overpriced and not extremely delicious. We had one veggie (£17 for cabbage meal is a bit over the top!) where the portion wasn’t great and also not so delicious. I personally had the beef and 2/3rds of my meet was fat and loin so didn’t really ate much of it. I only had the roasties and what was the cauliflower cheese with broccoli. since lunch, both myself and my partner have been sick multiple times and I would definitively not go there again. Atmosphere it’s not a bad place to be, but combing the service , the quality of the food and how rushed we were towards the end of our meal, I don’t think it’s worth it. £90 for 2 people is a bit over the top for what the quality is. (For context it was 6 of us - we had a main each, 2 bottles of wine, one bloody Marry, 4 pints and a couple of desserts) The only person that was polite was a lad who we saw behind the bar who seemed to know what one is supposed to do in hospitality. Never again! Avoid at all cost!

Highly recommend this place. High quality food, delicious cocktails and drinks. Service was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. There was entertainment by way of a brilliant magician and we enjoyed every minute! Really special place.

I visit C&D fairly regularly for the experience of Chef Seb's culinary creations doing a number on my taste buds, and last night was no different. Umami short rib particularly good this time. Will be back for an overdue Sunday Roast again in the near future!

First visit and was not disappointed! The food here is so good, really tasty and beautifully presented! The service was so friendly and memorable. Will definitely be back at some point to try the cocktails!

Wow just wow... Amazing building. Cute basement. Amazing staff. I left my bag here and my phone after a night I'd prefer to forget. I got everything back the next day. The hospitality I received was world class. If you want kind, welcoming and a warm service then this is your place. Will always come here xxx

Pretentious waiter Food too expensive for what it is. Ordered the house wine as we were not sure about the others and the explanation wasn't helpful. Waiter comeback saying he could find it! Haha... Then went to high range (they only had 3 to chose from) he came back with and embarrassing sample y guess what... It was off. Tasted like vinager. Said that to him so he came back with another sample. I asked if he try the one before and he said yes, he agreed it was off but not apologise at all. We felt we have to go for that one. Very unconfortable already. Mussel were horrendous, if you like mussel and to taste the mussel,. Don't order, the just taste of paprika, the crocketes another thing l won't give any points, they must use a chunchy flour panfry mix, they don't taste much. The only thing it was OK was the pork cheeks and it was because they put patatas bravas sauce on them but you you still taste the meat, nothing that you could do at home. Anyway sad experience, very rude service and so expensive for what it was.

Really impressed by the roasts... delicious. A real good size portion, hot and full of Flavour. We had one short rib and one veggie roast and we really enjoyed it. The dessert so a bit strange... the rolo bar is so rich and doesn't taste anything like a rolo and it was not what we expected from the menu. The Toilet was a bit grubby and could do with a deep clean including the skirting boards. Highly recommended roast.

Two members of our group were unable to make the lunch booking, we phoned the day before to inform the restaurant and they wouldn’t adjust the booking to a bigger or smaller table. Upon arrival we were informed we would be charged £20 for the no shows, despite that fact we had honoured the booking, we were being penalised for showing up. There were bigger tables available the whole time we were there, so in fact they could have accommodated a bigger booking. I tried to discuss with the manager(?) and he was very rude and dismissive. The whole experience was off putting and ruined our meal. Food was good, not the best roast I’ve had, but it was the most expensive.

The food was good but nothing special! Gravy and yorkshire needs improving. The management were rude and ruined the experience. Other waiters and waitresses were friendly and attentive, however, we were really put off by one particular staff member. Looking at other reviews, it must be the same rude waiter. Such as shame as we were looking forward to dining here. After coming here for a sunday lunch, I don't think we would go again. It was pretty expensive for the amount of food you get. Ends up being £20+ for a roast with the service charge. You get a bit of meat, three potatoes, half a carrot, half a parsnip, a bit of cabbage and leeks, cauliflower cheese, a burnt yorkshire pudding and loads of watered down gravy.
