Food was terrible, will not be going again

Top notch takeaway said 60 min for delivery only took 20 and my goodness what a delight! I can’t add pictures as the food was demolished within minutes but I would recommend this place to anyone 😁💖

Unfortunately, after being a customer here for over 30 years we will no longer be going. Since change of ownership the food is hit and miss, mainly because it can be so damn salty it is inedible at times. We have stuck with them but now we are going to have to go elsewhere.

The best Chinese, never go anywhere else and never disappoints. Always recommend to people, food is always perfect and customer service is great :)

Had a takeaway on the 06/03/24.I have been getting take outs for over 30 years from here .I had chicken curry as did my better half Both meals had 3 pieces of chicken the rest was just sauce very disappointing won't be calling again

Has been a long time from ordering from chus because they didn't deliver now i found out they do had satay beef last night and ribs tonight special curry tasted just like the old days full of flavours

I have been going to the Chus for over 30 years food has always been delicious. It has recently changed hands and I thought my usual order of Beef Satay tasted slightly different 🤔but I think with a little bit of tweaking they have got it back spot on. Pleasant friendly takeaway. Best Satay 👍

One of the worst takeaways I’ve ever had. The chicken fried rice literally had two tiny pieces of dry defrosted chicken. It had a layer of egg on top but otherwise was just plain boiled rice with no flavour and it cost £7. The mixed meat chow mein was just as bad, the meat was completely inedible. Won’t be coming back

I’ve been a loyal customer of Chu’s for over 40 years. Unfortunately the last two times our food was so salty we threw most of it away. We assumed and hoped it was a one off. Unfortunately the following weekend we had family over so ordered lots of Chinese food from Chus. Hardly anyone ate due to beings so salty for some of our guests, so we ended up having to buy an Indian instead. I would love it if Chus could just go back to the old recipes prior the business changing hand. It’s very simple: Less Salt = Happy Customers = “Kerging”

I love this Chinese takeaway. I have been coming here for 40+ years (how old am I? lol) and the food has always been 5*. It's certainly not the cheapest of Chinese takeaways, but it's definitely not the dearest either. The Chu's is a must try. One word - delicious!

i have been using this takeway for 32 years 2 or 3 times a month but NO MORE. there food was all ways good quality until just recently. everything has changed, the beef is a cheaper cut there chips look like cheap frozen from the cash and carry, portions are smaller, spare ribs used to get 6 now only get four or five depending on the size i know prices have gone up but £19.00 for cheap food i dont think so ill be saving my hard earned cash in future

Absolutely Disgusting Pathetic Excuse of a take away. Special fried rice consist of BOIL RICE with meat placed ontop then soya drizzled over rotten food amd staff. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY PLEASE STAY AWAY

For 12 years this has been our favourite takeaway but tonight was a disappointment. My husband and I have always had chicken satay, fried rice and prawn crackers but tonight, the chicken satay tasted of fish and the prawn crackers were stale. Really hope the chef stops cooking with fish stock!! We will try it again but not a 3rd if nothing has changed.

This take away used to be so good..l will stop going..spring rolls went in the bin..satay was 90% onions tasteless little chicken..appalling.. sweet and sour went in bin..after 10 years whats happening..going elsewhere.

Have used the Chu's for years and always enjoyed the food, however had a Chicken Satay Friday night which was short on chicken and green peppers but an abundance of onions, the Satay had a distinct taste of fish. The beansprouts now come with onion but not the same taste. The other meal was far too salty ended up throwing both meals into the bin. Has it changed hands or a just a new cook. Sad to say after almost 30 years of using the Chu's it's time for a change.

Been going here for years and never had a problem, however tonight was awful. Ordered 3 portions of satay sauce and rice and when we got it home and opened it, there was a strong smell of fish. We poured it over the rice and tried it and it tasted of fish too. So we called up to explain and said that we would bring some back to show them, and they said that would be fine. When we got there (we don't live near there), they then told us that they have a no refund policy, they would need all of the food back for an exchange or we could have one portion of rice and sauce. When we asked about the fish taste, they claimed satay sauce is made from shrimp. Yet no where on their menu does it state that and could be dangerous to anyone with allergies to seafood! In the end, after asking politely over and over again, we were given a refund only because another customer walked it. Avoid if you have allergies! Because they only mention nuts are in their sauces.

The doors opened bang on 5pm and I was greeted with a warm smile from the Chinese lady working from behind the counter after making my choice of egg fried rice chips and curry sauce the food arrived promptly and tasted perfect which made for a peaceful evening as the takeaway was for partner lol so Chu's Chinese takeaway is a hit for me

Would not recommend if you have any food allergies. asked 3 times could they make sure my food contains no prawns. when complaining i was told to wait 4 the driver to bring new one in 40 mins and then to warm up the rest of my cold chinese in the microwave!! potentially dangerous take out 4 me and my daughter who has fatal reactions to certain foods.

Best takeaway in South Manchester. Hands down.

Very overpriced for the quality of food, which was essentially onions and a bit of what I thought we would get. First time going there, definitely the last. Sauces were average at best. Don't bother

I ordered a meal for my grandchildren and I , the food arrived cold , the chips wasn't fresh. The Cantonese duck was disgusting. A complete waste of money. Last time I ordered was a year ago and I rang up to complain and they wasn't interested. I decided to try again hoping it had changed, no such luck. The worst takeaway , don't order !! No star rating

I really like finding a new place that had 5* food hygiene, is not on just eat, and makes good food. You know what you're getting with take away, and this matches my memory of what a Chinese take away should be. Really great and worth trying. This is not authentic Chinese food, so judge it for what it is rather than what it isn't. This is now my new local take away.

Nowhere near good enough for the price, there are far far better Chinese takeaways in the local area that are cheaper too!! Just Been back after 4 years because our local was closed and it's as terrible as ever. Bland and average would be too kind for this place. You would be better off getting a microwave meal. Or a tin of dog food. How anyone can think this is good is beyond me.

Nothing to like food was bland and tasteless couldn't even cut through the chicken in the sweet n sour with a steak knife soup was like water and beef n beansprouts lacked any taste whatsoever might as well have thrown my twenty quid in the bin because that's where this food went

Nearly all Chinese takeaways taste the same, the chues is completely different! Absolutely amazing food and belly satisfaction guaranteed.

This is the nicest Chinese I've ever taken out, the food is so tasty- spicy, but TASTY! Would recommend to all
