THE WORST CHIPS EVER, Ordered of ubereats came very quick temperature was not the problem! The problem was the taste of the chips and just look at them. They was a mixture of stale, soggy and hard. Never had chips like it. Disappointed since they was for my kids but to be honest I wouldn’t even give these to my dog if I had one.

Never had a bad meal from them. Always fresh and delicious!

Food and service is amazing. Would highly recommend.

Arrived quickly. Was nice, fresh and tasty. Sad to see no salad and sauce on my meal (meat and chips) though I’m unsure if I had to request it. Would order again.

A great local fish n chips shop. They do all the classics from cod to curry sauce. Most of the time, the food is cooked to order, but sometimes it is there on the shelf being kept warm, but it's never old or stale.

This chippy used to be amazing, but has been extremely disappointing for quite a while now. Tonight was no exception, pale, barely lukewarm chips and a sausage that had been standing for god knows how long, it was barely edible.

My son went down and popped in to get fish, mushy peas, battered sausages and a large portion of chips. Chips tasted like pre-covid potatoes, the chef coated them in watered down vinegar which didn't even have a smell. Battered Sausage was full of lumps and muscle, mushy peas were the only slightly edible food, and that was after microwaving them. Threw it in the bin and now really disappointed and annoyed over the quality of this food. Its disgraceful. Paid over 25 quid for now-binned food. If I could walk, I'd be at the shop complaining. Is it wrong to expect value for money and to be treated like a valid customer, who deserves 100% service?

Nice quality fish and chips. Fish was fried fresh and good quality. Curry sauce was great. Chips were lovely and a generous portion. Only losing a star as the plain sausage wasn't great.

Food is cooked to a lovely standard. You can pre order for pick up. Very clean. Staff very polite and attentive. Reasonably priced. Variety of chip shop favourites and kebab too!

Being going here for a long time food is always tasty service is great although prices have gone up a bit

Ordered the chicken shish, donor kebab and the curry chips, absolutely to die for, can’t wait to order again, highly recommended!

Best fish and chip shop in the country

First time there, had take away Chips & Saveloy, chips wasn't fresh and the Saveloy looked liked it was cooked a long time ago and was dried and rock hard, all for £3.80.

All the food there is FANTASTIC !!! Highly recommended 🤩

Their curry chips and doner meat wrap is my meal at least fortnightly Can't go wrong here and price is decent

Good food, friendly service and the Chip Shop is very clean. The Mixed Kebabs are the best in the area and they will freshly fry the fish if you ask. Great place if you want a night of cooking lol

I have been told that this chippy was good but I was hesitant to try it as I had 2 chippys that are nearer, but I have to so the staff are friendly the food is cooked to order but it is done quickly I can highly recommend

Dryer tips tasted like they will leftover from last night and reheated the savlloi hard could not evan chew it it and the kebab was dry and swiveled and when i conplained he said no i am not chaning it what u going to do aboute very rude person would not recommend.

Haven't been to this place in a long time. The workers are so friendly. We have grown up getting our food from here from time to time. Went there today and was surprised they still remembered my name! Good job guys! Keep up the good work. (Chips were great too!)

Best chip shop in town! I’ve tried many chip shops in east London but nothing beats The Chubby Friar. Great friendly staff and always providing quality food as well as quality service! Love their food

Best chips, kebabs and burgers in barking by far

I go to Chubby Friar because its the best in Barking, they did win an award some time back, I only have middle skate and a few chips I don't like a lot of chips and they cook it fresh for me I don't mind the wait, but now I phone my order then go and collect, service with a smile, and though I don't eat kebabs they look good marinating in the chilled display cabinet. Chubby Friar is not near my home but its worth the journey every time.
