Costa Coffee in Barking and Dagenham

Staff is very friendly. One of barista Virginia is very friendly and always smiling and does her job well.

I travel around 60mins frequently to assist a family with poor health in the area in-between work commitments and regularly stop off here to get a coffee. I have to leave a review because the staff are all so welcoming I always have a perfectly made coffee even when they are really busy. I could easily use the drive thru I prefer to go inside the shop so I'm not rushed when putting the sugar in my coffee or at risk of spilling it in my car but this is very much a personal preference. Thankyou very much for all your hard work it is appreciated. 👏

Uma served me today told her the hot chocolate was a bit off she even assisted me by making a delicious whole new one.

This drink was made by Uma. This is meant to be a latte. How is this anywhere near acceptable. I thought all staff get the same training. Every other store looks like a proper latte. Some staff need to be retrained on how to make a latte and also need to learn to use manners. And not to tell the customer “if you don’t like the coffee, go somewhere else then”. Good manners hmmmmmm

It’s a typical Costa Coffee shop with a drive through or you can park your vehicle and get 90 minutes free parking and if you need longer you can add your number plate for another 90 minutes

The staff approach is rude and unprofessional. I ordered my coffee at 6:48 pm on a Sunday evening. The staff rudely told me that they’re closing in 15 minutes. I confronted her and confirmed that they’re closing at 7:30 pm. Still she showed a very rude attitude.

Went to Costa to grab 2 drinks and got greated by “u want drinks” I ordered an oat hot chocolate with vegan cream and a normal caramel frappe. The oat hot chocolate had no oat sticker and I didn’t watch her make it so I didn’t know if it was definitely oat milk. I took the drinks and opened the hot chocolate to find no cream. I went to drink it and it was cold. I got to the bottom to find it was all lumpy and couldn’t drink anymore. The caramel frappe was filled half way

Ordered flatwhite, latte and hot chocolate and paid £17 via ubereats it has been very late, coffee taste horrible and freezing cold if I wanted to have a ice coffee I would of order it ain't I. Try to contact their branch but phoneline is closed and I wrote to driver before he picked up the ordered to ask them when he arrive make a fresh coffee he said they refused to that and end up having horrible coffee experience. Rubbish

great tasty selection of food and drink

Cakes are delicious, cold drinks are done very well, but unfortunately, the coffee (festive chain latte) was weak and tasteless. The place seems nice e and welcoming but I only ordered at the drive through.

Ordered click & serve. Parked up with lights flashing after 20 minutes had to drive to drive thru. Apparently no ticket came through. As I was sat with lights flashing & a member of staff came out to clear tables looked in my direction they should of used their sense & checked to see if they had a click & serve order. As for being busy they didn't have a queue of more than 2/3 customers at any one time & theirs at least 3 of them working so I don't think that's "busy". Very poor service.

Worst customer service ever. I was short changed, the lady (Virginia) was so rude when I asked for my correct money back, not a single apology and instead gave me the dirtiest look as if it was my fault!! Disgusting behaviour, made me feel really uncomfortable. All the other staff members are really nice

A very good environment for good food and relaxing

Shocking customer service, had to repeat our order four times and then were told to “just come to the window”. Upon getting there we received a drink with dairy milk even though we specifically asked for oat due to allergies. No apology when we pointed this out, lady at the window just looked annoyed like it was our fault. In the end, two drinks had to be remade and not one apology in the whole experience. It’s always a struggle to get what you ordered here as the staff are rushing you and not listening to you when you’re ordering, which leads to several mistakes in what you receive. If some time was taken to train staff in customer service and the ability to listen to what customers are saying, these issues won’t happen.

This costa branch has free parking up to 90 minutes, however, if you wish to study or work you must register your vehicle. Service is to a good standard as the workers serve with a smile. The atmosphere is clean and peaceful but is busy during peak times. This Costa is located in a quiet area where you will not hear traffic noise.

Yes, it's a Costa. But it's a busy Costa where the staff are friendly.

Slow unenthusiastic service, we had to repeat our order several times, in the end got overcharged, and barely got an apology for it. Drinks we mediocre. This Costa is so done. Could not compete with McDonalds, if it's life depended on it...

It looks busy, but no one looks bothered to serve. Better to segregate drive through from shop service or assign roles to staff.

To all the vegetarians please be aware. I went here one evening and bought a cheese and tomato toastie, the lady who served me took the cooked toastie out of the machine and used a yellow knife and the yellow board to cut the toastie when she should have used the green knife and green board for vegetarian food because the yellow board is used for cooked meat and fish. I asked her straight away why she did that and she ignored me. She was also so grumpy working with an “I can’t be bothered attitude”. Then I asked her again and the response she gave was unbelievable. She said “we have changed the knife system now, we use the yellow knife to cut the vegetarian food now, we always do that now” I was shocked as I know that is a pure lie. Because next to the yellow board was the green board and knife so what is that used for? I did send a formal complaint to Costa so they take urgent action. Due to allergies and religious reasons this is a serious issue. When you go in next please make sure they are using the right things. God knows what they will do behind our backs!

Love this Costa, food and drinks consistently good and what you'd expect from any Costa, and staff are always super friendly. Parking is easy. Only downside is that it can get super busy and a struggle sometimes to get a table!

I love Costa coffee and have been a Costa customer for many years. I have found most Costa stores excellent. Unfortunately I have found this one incredibly disappointing due to staff rudeness and unprofessional approach.

Very bad experience I was one day there and I tried to eat the sandwich, but when sandwich come to my table, the sandwich was already expired and very black inside the stuff there. They are not friendly and they are not professional.

First time attending this costa on my daughters recommendation that the staff are so friendly, unfortunately i did not experience this. Upon paying staff member was very rude and argumentative when i tried using my reward voucher. I will not be coming back

Nice clean , friendly staff, Just some people occupy whole tables just for coffee and still there with books, laptops, like sitting in the office or library and spending hours in there.

Me and my husband always use to go through drive though.never had problem!! The drinks always amazing but lately we decided to sit in.we came in today and lovely lady behind till and a guy was working drive through. A quite night bur clearly love there jobs .jolly friendly took there time with an over excited kid the drinks was amazing!!! There customer service always spot on here this we started to come in and sit down in there clean restaurent.........Sssshhhh won't tell everyone bout the extra marshmellow and chocolates on the side!!

I love popping into the one in the brewery before I start shopping in Romford it's so lovely to prepare my wife + me before shopping.

Best Costa I've ever been to. You are probably wondering why if they're all the same, but this one is simply outstanding. Not only the coffee made by all the staff (especially Virginia) is delicious, but all the baristas there are always helpful, patient and welcoming. Dagenham East Costa Coffee is my go-to place when I need a change of scenery to get work done. It's a lovely spot where I can't help but feel productive. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is consistently clean and inviting. I can't find a single fault with it. And if you're a coffee enthusiast like me, this place is an absolute gem. You simply can't go wrong with Costa Coffee at Dagenham East.

It was my first time here(recommended by a friend) and I enjoyed it. I was so pleased with the service I received from Claudia very friendly and welcoming. In addition to the great drinks she suggested, the cafe had a comfortable seating area, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment with my friend. Highly recommended.

They are rude, burnt the milk in my latte , I’ve tried multiple times with this costa, it’s my nearest costa but by far the worst, they don’t seem to be able to make a latte that tastes nice, maybe more training is needed for coffee and manners.

Toilets could be cleaner as it was not busy at all and had more than enough staff

I'm a regular here and have always enjoyed the coffee, the food and the atmosphere.

Food is okay and overpriced. It's almost £5 for a sandwich. Service was very slow I had to collect the eating in order at the till rather than being served at the table. Did not even hear that the order is ready for collection announcement. The staff did not call out to say order is ready for collection, but left the food tray next to the till for it to get cold. Very unprofessional staff. I feel the atmosphere is very hostile rather than welcoming. The staff needs to smile more and appear more cheerful.

Very often they are out of medium cups so I am forced to have a small size drinks. It’s disappointing

The staff here are young and they were quite unorganized getting orders wrong and a long waiting time Clean dining area but very cold due to the AC overall its a decent experience but need to get their orders correct since they seemed stressed and unorganised

This is my favorite coffee shop in the area by far. The owner has done a great job making this shop very welcoming and friendly. The coffee is very good and reasonably priced. I recommend this place to everyone.

Pefrect for escaping into a novel its quiet and cosy for sure the afternoon is the best time to go.

A milky coffee is made with the milk going in the cup first then the espresso poured on top. This results in a poor coffee experience so I just order iced drinks.

Nice decent place, but due to the crowd, the staff was overwhelmed. Overall, good service. Luckily we found it next to the travelodge we were staying. It's in a very convenient place that as you come out from travelodge to the carpark and its just there. Nice seating place with different layouts. There was a variety of sandwiches for both vegetarian and non veg. Nice collection of deserts 🏜 Helpful and friendly staff 😀

Lovely ,comfortable place to go to to meet up with friends. But one negative thing about it. The table could do with a clean after the last customer. Full of crumbs & we had to clear it with serviettes. Very nice & helpful workers there though. Lovely lunches & coffee.

Terrible.............ordered a regular and a decaf , and 2 banana cakes. Got back to my office and they hadn't marked the decaf coffee. My colleague cannot drink regular coffee because of heart palpitations. Have not got the time or prepared to make the effort to go all the way back to Costa because some dozy git cannot get a coffee order right. It is not a life or death decision making job, you serve coffee..........get it right!! Tried to call Costa because I am sick and tired of the dozy shops and their poor service and no one was available on the phone, well the phone lines weren't even available!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Dagenham Costa yesterday with a friend. We both had such a lovely experience. The staff were so polite and friendly. The place was warm and cosy. Coffee was brewed perfectly. Thank you for having us yesterday.

I ordered recently through Ubereats 2 breakfast bundles. Instead of calling to say they didn’t have the sandwiches they just stuck a note on the receipt. They could have rung and I would have cancelled the order because I can make coffee at home. Not impressed.

The food is very much over priced and not really worth it for the money however, the coffee's are absolutely amazing.

Good place for a coffees on drive thru or stay a little inside. Taste of coffee is somewhat better than Starbucks but still as bad as in all UK. The coffee taste is a combination of bad smelly socks with herbs. The ingredients like vanilla or caramel should require double amount to feel something, so better ask for more if you pay for it.

Ordered a Iced Frappe on Sunday 7th August on click and collect. When I went into the store I was told the machine was broken and that they couldn't offer a refund, instead pointing me towards customer service on the app. Filled out the form and it's now been over 4 days without a response. No way of contacting via phone. Still awaiting an update of any kind from the Costa team and am very disappointed by the lack of service from their side. Ill stick with Starbucks going forward. EDIT: Shortly after posting this customer service got in touch via twitter to confirm a refund had been issued and a free drink added to my app. Bumping up from 1 to 3 stars.
