Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. The fish was crispy and fresh, and the chips were perfectly cooked. Great portion size and quick service. Highly recommend!

This is a good traditional fish and chip shop. The gravy was lovely (I had it with a large battered sausage and nice crispy onion rings)

I requested lots of salt as i dont have at home but didn't get any. Food is always great though.

I have used The Chippy on many occasions and on most occasions I have been very satisfied. The fish is generally high quality and very tasty and the chips are the nice traditional kind.

I really hate having to do a local restaurant down, but this was a truly awful experience. I wanted haddock, but as it would take 10 minutes, I decided I'd just have the cod for quickness. A mistake. The best thing about the meal was the batter. The fish was really dry, and the chips lukewarm at best. I didn't eat much of it. The service at the counter was basic functional , no engagement at all. It's never been the greatest chippy, but was OK. This was a real low. I won't go back again.

I was visiting here for the first time. it's abit intrusive the way the staff all stared at me giving me dirty looks I dont know if its because I was in a wheelchair. I then asked for small cod and medium chip and a battered sausage and asked I I could eat in they said the prices are different you can sit outside on the table it however I paid amd left with my food feeling very uncomfortable exsperiance over all also on top of all of this my battered sausage was undercooked was pink and my fish also undercooked with skin still on my batter covering it up but it's thick batter would not recommend this place at all very dissatisfied. I have attached proof of pictures that I took of food also chips were cooked in old oil the only fresh thing really was the curry sauce and chips

food was piping hot when it arrived, and delicious. delivery driver came straight to the right address, despite the map being very confusing in this area.

Ordered via an app - having managed my own fish and chip shops I was concerned when 4 mins later it was on its way. Fish was a shocker, cold, greasy, translucent batter and broke in half on picking up. I’ve been horrified when served French fries and fish in the past. But never have I seen a 1.5” fish 😮 A cod fillet that’s clearly been cut into strips to go further. If I wanted ‘fish gingers’ I’d have ordered them or cod bites. I usually flit between 3 chippies around me and only used this on a friends Uber as they had a discount. Think it was 40% off the bill, but maybe it mean you only get 40% of the fish. Chips were cold sadly but were actually ok in texture. Curry sauce was only thing hot. Wouldn’t recommend but gave my friends a good laugh, so much so they got out a tape measure and took pics for their socials. Friend took the battered sausage. Was same, batter incredibly brown, translucent given it was so greasy, barely warm and chewy indicating it had been sat for well over an hour.

Ordered take away. Calamari was tough & overly chewy & bland. no taste, overcooked & exceptionally hard batter & obviosly re-heated, it was binned. Cod & chips. Cod was OK, nice batter & good taste. Chips were absolutely rank, old potatoes, you could taste the staleness & cooked in even older oil, just awful. Curry sauce, that was seeping out of the tub, obviously I don't blame the shop for this, this is either the fault of the delivery driver or poor packaging. Do not order from here. It's not cheap & the quality of food is exceptionally poor. Sick of these insane price increases & definately not getting the qaulity of food that matches the price. Will definately never use again.

Not a proper chippy. The street honks of old fishy oil every day when I walk past, and the food is not much better.

Favourite fish&chips in London！

No longer the 5 * chippy it used to be. Small overcooked portions and overpriced. Quality has deteriorated. Such a shame. I used to tell people that this was the best chippy around but since changing hands it has gradually gone down hill.

Staff are incredibly unfriendly! And for absolutely no reason at all. My friend and I only popped in for some chips. Wouldn’t visit here again.

I had chips, Mediterranean salad and a spicy bean burger. My issues? Nit-picking ones... There wasn't enough vinegar and onion water on the chips, the burger wasn't spicy enough, the bun was too soft for my taste and not spicy enough! However, the food was fresh, well cooked and promptly delivered, would definitely order from them again!!! :)

Just Eat needs to ensure their map. The rider was left riding around for too long as the map was showing the incorrect location pinned.

Changed my review from 4* to 1* Popped in after work few weeks ago and ordered a variety of food. Burger was OK but you can't really mess that up. Chicken wings were dry and were not spicy. Fish was dry and wife ended up just pulling it apart for the edible bits. The most disappointing thing mind was the chips, mostly dry and hard like they'd been sitting there for a long time. YOU'RE A CHIP SHOP.... I've been a customer for a very long time but the quality and attention to detail are gone. Charging £12 for fish that is substandard is inexcusable.

Ordered at 7.50pm, called restaurant at 8.50pm and they said no drivers available and to cancel order which I couldn't from my end. They should have never accepted and confirmed order if they knew about the strike. Ended making own dinner and out of pocket from no food turning up.

Waited two hours no food, and now have to organise a refund. Called the restaurant, and they said they could not get drivers. Out of pocket and hungry

My food never got delivered then claimed it was and I was updating the app every minute

Not arrived! Almost 3 hours ago I placed an order and it hasn’t arrived even though your app says it was delivered at 7:15. I called the restaurant twice and they informed me they have no drivers so I must cancel my order. Chatbot were unhelpful, saying the restaurant had to cancel my order and not me and then closed the chat. Please issue a refund ASAP!

The place smells quite weird like old oil and dust. Had chicken pieces and chips which were gross and I ate less than half of the good before leaving. The batter was soggy and the food had a weird taste. Chips were ok-ish. Can of Coke costs £2.65 which is quite extortionate for the ghetto this place is located in

We had fish and chips here for the first time on an evening in October, and it was brilliant! Excellent batter on the fish, beautiful flakey fish, cracking chips, what's not to like?! Definitely my new go-to fish and chip place in the area.

***EDIT: The Chippy have always been my favourite, but lately, they've been particularly great. Their packaging has been different, too, so maybe they've made some changes. Before, you'd sometimes get curry sauce that was much thicker and creamier than usual. Lately, it's been like that every single time. The chips have been really crispy and fluffy. Everything always arrives hot and fresh. If you haven't ordered from here in a while, definitely try them again. Like I said, The Chippy have been my favourite chip shop for years, but recently, they're seriously great.*** Chips and curry sauce will always be my favourite naughty treat. The Chippy's is God tier. It can be hard to find good chip shop curry sauce in London, but my search for the perfect sauce is well and truly over. That, and the service is great and it always arrives within 15 minutes, piping hot and perfect every time. Lockdown would be much harder if I didn't have my favourite comfort food, and The Chippy do it just right. I dream about this curry sauce at night. My wife is jealous because I love it more than her.

the chips not edible as they salt was way way too much! coated so thick thick chunks of salt I tried to remove what I could but still too salty. everything else was ok but the burger notes were missed again. they did remove salad etc for both burgers didn't put that in my notes I said one burger no salad no sauce etc and the other burger to add salad. maybe they ran out but in not sure if that is the case? food cooked well and really enjoyed burger and nuggest only. to expensive to needt go bin

Cold, soggy chips and fish batter. The scampi were not actually scampi but processed fish paste in batter. Very bad and misleading menu.

Absolutely disgusting probably the worst Chips I had in my life from a chippy. The fact the name of the shop is called THE CHIPPY FISH & CHIPS is laughable. It should be called "SCRAPPY CHIPPY" because that's exactly what you get. These chips were not fresh at all & all were extremely brown & overdone it was like it wasn't even potatoe. Don't bother waste your hard earned money going here. I would have been better off eating leaves of the tree lol.

I honestly have never had a worse chippy in my life and that is saying something. Not sure if the oil was dirty or the potatoes rotten but when it arrived every single chip was brown and still somehow raw. Absolutely disgusting, I genuinely couldn’t believe it when I saw them. Who would scoop these out of the fryer and think it’s even appropriate to serve them? Absolutely foul. Also ordered cod bites and sausages in batter and they were the soggiest things I’ve ever tasted. YUCK AVOID

Delivery was fast but I asked for salt and vinegar on my chips and I didn't get that. I ordered calamari which wasn't delivered and was delivered the wrong drink

The best chicken and chips I’ve ever had in my life and this is not an over exaggeration!

I ordered delivery from Uber Eats, it was delivered quickly. The cod was overcooked and too greasy, the calamari was dipped in the batter you get the fish in and I didn’t enjoy it at all. Very disappointing as I had heard good things about the place!

It pains me to leave a bad review for this restaurant as their standards are usually great but the chips were awful and cold it seems that they have spent alot of time in the hot plate keeping warm they were so dry and ended up in my bin. I also write a note for the restaurant to follow, requesting a skinless cod my cod arrived skin on, I couldn't eat it... Very disappointed customer. 👎

My mom came to visit me from Poland so I wanted her to try some nice fish and chips and thankfully I found the place! Delicious food great service and very nice space inside! Definitely recommend!!!

Shop does not read or follow instructions given when ordering online.. they call traditional chippy but fail every time to provide the basic salt, vinegar or chilly and mayo sauce with the order even if you put it in instructions. It’s a fake traditional chippy. Food quality is not great. Service is poor. I would highly recommend people not to order from here. It is an absolute waste of money.

Our go to chippy, been getting fish and chips from here for years. Chunky chips are a generous portion, the medium is enough for 2 people and then some. The fish is a nice big piece too. The onions rings are nice too, nice chunky classic style onion rings. Delivery is always quick with whichever app you use, and the price is very reasonable. Haven't tried the entire menu, however we love what we've had so far. Easily recommend to anyone.

Food was sealed in the paper bag like always but the can drink in the seal paper bag leaked all over my food. Called up and told them that the deliveroo driver took my drink and reassured me that I’ll get new food because it was soaked. I insisted that the driver took my food back so I can get fresh food but he said he’ll go back to restaurant and get me fresh food and drink. I even called chippy and told them what happened and they said they will send me my order again but they never did. I’m very disappointed and I won’t be ordering again. Chippy. Terrible service

I guess time is up I should turn the previous 5 star review to 1, I've been your customer for over 7 months. Service is was always great while you're there, the service has been awful for last few times, is it not right to stare at me like that by your staff, like I can’t explain? My advice to you us a local if you want to keep your customers happy and coming back do not serve a small burnt fish for £12 to your customer please train your staff and fryer.

Tasty chips. The chicken wings were not fresh had a weird smell couldn’t eat it after one bite. They shouldn’t be selling off food.

So far from good. There was not a single person in the restaurant over an hour before closing and thins is still how bad it was. A box of barely cooked chips that were essentially just cold grease bombs. And for some reason they pot the chips overtop of the fish, that looked like it was sitting there for hours. The website says homemade tartar and fresh ingredients but I think the package of Heinz sauce they gave me says otherwise. Go get a good pizza a few doors down for the same price and skip this place.

This was my first fish and chip experience and I must say I very much liked it. The big-size piping hot cod & chip and a jar of tartar sauce came for £12 if I'm not wrong. Staffs were very kind & helpful.

Bought Cod and chips. When I arrived home the Fish was all dried up as were the chips nothing was fresh it must have been sitting there for hours. My advice is make sure you see what you are paying for. Mine went straight in the bin. Phoned and complained but I don't think they understood my complaint. Won't be going there again.
