We had fish and chips black pudding and chips and a battered hamburger made freshly fish pudding and burger very good chips weren’t the best I’ve had nor the worst pretty average however overall a good chippy

Disappointed. The chips were very dry which could have been reheats there was plenty of them… the only positive, the batter wasn’t light and an unusual dark orange colour. A quite tasteless experience for £19

Have not been for a while as was disappointed last time but WOW it was amazing. Great large bit of fish and lovely cooked chips. Will be back very soon

I wish our local chippy had as good a selection. Great choice, and well prepared food. A must eat from venue when we stay at the nearby caravan park.

My wife loved her fish n chips, my spicy haggis was perfect. Great chips and the dug loved his twa sausages. Service was excellent.

Had a takeaway from here, the fish and chips were freshly cooked and very good, and the service was friendly.

After a long walk arriving back at Hopeman Harbour, perfect timing for The Chippy opening at 4.30pm, What a lovely welcome on entering, must be a family run chippy the young lad serving was so polite and so nice to customers, so onto the Fish & Chips, fresh and lovely, Haddock, Chips & mushy peas, boxed up and easy to carry & eat from, i would definitely recommend The Chippy, especially to take down to the front looking across the bay

My husband and had a takeaway from The chippy won't be going back there again. The chips looked and tasted like they hadn't been cooked properly. Virtually no salt or vinegar on them either . The chips were hard as well

Beyond awful !!! Cardboard chips swimming in mushy peas might aswell have ordered peas with a side of chips !! Worst meal I’ve ever had !!!

Where do I start. Standing outside to wait. COVID restrictions are over. Fish was dry n burnt, batter was rock hard. And only half a fish.. Chips were as hard as gravel . Only one or two chips had salt and still trying to find the vinigar, Paid £18. FOR it to be put in the BIN. WILL NEVER BE BACK. I'll travel further a field in future.. I don't normally leave comments but this was the Worst.

We stayed at the Caravan Park, and used the chippy for tea one evening. Great food not too greasy and perfect location to walk and collect and either eat at the habour or back at the van n the park.

We were staying at west beach caravan park and fancied a chippy for dinner. Phoned in our order and arranged to meet the driver at the caravan park reception. Waited about 40 mins but it was a Saturday evening and they are a busy chip shop so didn’t mind. The food was worth it. We had chicken fillet suppers and curry sauce. Coleslaw is also amazing!

Enjoyed the fish as chips. All cooked to order and there was a very good choice. Five minute walk from the caravan site. Recommended.

Ordered two haddock suppers and both the price and quality were superb - batter on fish not soggy or overly hard. Clearly cooked fresh so there was a small wait but that pays dividends and this was the best fish and chips I've had for a while. Really friendly staff being Covid safe. Highly recommended.

We are regular customers here and have always received first class service and enjoyable takeaways. We opted for the first time to have the chicken boxes and they were most enjoyable. We had a slight wait to receive our telephone order but this was not a big issue. All covid regulations were strictly adhered to, with customers requested to wait outside the premises to collect their orders.

Visited for evening take away. We all had different meals. Phoned in order which was easy and done quickly. Large portions provided so generally good value. Chips were okay, feel I've had better elsewhere. Likewise the fish was average, the batter was really chewy.

We chose to have Fish and Chips on our last night at the caravan park. Short walk to The Chippy, it was very busy. All food cooked fresh and it was all delicious.

Had fish suppers on the last night of our stay at the west beach campsite. Really good, perfect batter and fresh chips. Staff were friendly and double wrapped everything when they heard we had a ten minute walk back to the motorhome. They also let us bring our wee dog in out of the cold while we waited. Will definitely visit again when we visit Hopeman again in the spring.

Probably the best fish supper we have ever had, well worth the walk from West Beach. Even managed to get back to the park before they got cold.

Freshly made to order Crispy battered fish. Excellent couldn't fault it. Friendly staff and well worth the wait.

First night at the West Beach Caravan park so needed a quick meal. Really good value, 2 spicy haggis and chips, 1 black pudding and chips for less than £15. Much better value than in Aberdeen. Cooked to order, good chips and decent service

The food served up was excellent. Well cooked and cheerfully served. Just a takeaway, no sit in facilities.

After a long walk on our way back from Lossiemouth on a Sunday, we were impatient to find a nice place to eat. The chippy had the best fish and chips we have ever tasted. 10/10 would recommend.

Visited on a Friday evening. Fish Supper, sausage supper, two bags of chips, curry and gravy was ordered. Order was taken promptly and efficiently and freshly prepared food arrived quickly. We really enjoyed everything and the fish and chips were the best I have had in a very long time. Definitely worth a visit and we will certainly return next time we are in Hopeman.

Fantastic freshly cooked really fish, group had a sausage supper too, all cracking - fish was really fresh and coated in a think crispy batter and was excellent - would recommend!

It closes quite early so make sure you check. The fish and chips were good, reasonably priced and in a good portion.

Me and the wife visited this chippy today and both our meals were perfect.

Ate here with my 12 year old son he had sausage supper I had fish n chips. Both were very nice the fish was lovely and fresh. Under £12.00 for both. Cooked fresh so waited few minutes but visited the shop next door whilst waiting.

So I’ve just visited this wee gem & even thou it was 20 deep the staff just kept on going calmly with a cheery smile & all meals were delivered in the correct order & some of them were large, as well as phone orders hats off U guys are doing a fabulous job the King Rib was just perfect

Went in here for two bags of chips and a buttered roll. Clearly they haven’t a scooby how to run a chip shop. I’m not exaggerating. 30 mins later I still hadn’t got my order and told them to cancel it. They literally cook the orders one at a time and there were only three orders in front of me. I have never experienced a slower chip shop. I remember going into Hopeman for chips as a kid and they were good, but between the wait and the sour face of the fryer I lost interest and left.

Excellent chippy, staff lovely, food great. Always enjoy visiting here. You won't be disappointed. Staff always cheery and helpful.

had takeaway on the Saturday on our weekend stay in Hopeman and we were not disappointed buy our purchase. Freshly made and friendly staff.

I thought I'd give this chippy in Hopeman a try as I usually visit Elgin for my suppers. I ordered a fish supper and a red pudding supper. The chips were chewy to the point they were inedible and the batter on the fish was quite soggy. My partner ate the red pudding but also found the batter wasn't of a good standard. She also couldn't eat the chips. Maybe this was an off day for them but I won't be wasting another £13 to try again.

You know a chippy is good when the locals flock there every night. My wife and kid has fish suppers and I had a black pudding supper. Both were fantastic. One of the best black puddings I have ever had. Really nice staff and reasonably priced. A must visit.

Stopped by for takeaways for family. Ordered 2 x Fish suppers, battered sausage supper and smoked sausage supper. Decent sized haddock in crispy batter, chips could have been a bit crispier. Sausage suppers demolished by kids. Very nice!

Fish here was cooked to order and was very fresh. Chips were tasty too. Would recommend this for anyone in the area. Staff were all very friendly and shop was spotless.

Arrived at Hopeman caravan site yesterday. We had friends visit for the afternoon. As we were all hungry we decided to go for fish suppers. The six of us all had haddock and chips the battery was nice and crispy and the fish was fresh with nice bright white flesh with a big portion of chips all cooked to perfection. All six of us thoroughly enjoy our meal well done Hopeman chippy will certainly return in the future.

A proper chippy! If a business like this can survive opening for 4 1/2 hours a day it tells you everything. Excellent.

If you are fortunate enough to be visiting Hopeman be sure to stop at The Chippy and grab yourself a supper. A superb fish and chips serviced by terrific staff. A must!

We were staying in lovely Hopeman for two nights. This little place is right on Harbour Street next to Cafe Mouie (run by the same people).
