Always excellent quality, as is their other branch, Fish Tram Chips in Llandudno. We actually drive 20 miles when Llandudno is closed! We always have delicious fish & chips, served courteously.

Excellent fish and chips, thoroughly enjoyed eating them. Friendly owners, great to have a chat while waiting for the food.

Our family group of 13, ages 5 to 70, were received at short notice in this traditional chippy, and all sat down to an amazing eat in fish and chips dinner The staff went above and beyond to make our dining experience there as good as it was. They cooked our food to order. The food was superb. We cannot recommend the Chippery highly enough. Thank you, you made our evening. Adults and children left with that happy feeling inside that well cooked homely food gives.

We hadn’t been to this chip shop in a few years,it used to be fabulous. What a let down our meal was tonight. The Cod was so thin you could barely taste it,the Chips were very hard , I would think they had gone. Cold and been refried at least once. The oil from the fish pooled at the bottom of the takeaway carton. To make it edible I patted oil of the pieces of Fish with kitchen roll. Sadly,most of it went in the dustbin.At £6.50 a portion of Fish,it was an expensive error. We won’t be using this Chip shop again I’m afraid.

Delicious pice of Haddock in golden crispy batter home made mushy peas & brilliant chips “ no eyes “ Much cheaper than my chippy in Bolton . Very good value, friendly staff . Our holiday was brilliant in this unknown area for us .

Just been to get some regular fish and chips resulted in trying to stop myself from ordering more the food was just too good from the crispy batter on the fish to the crispy chips everything cooked spot on honestly chefs kiss!

We visited The Chippery on the way to our caravan in North Wales. The food was excellent as always and it was nice to be recognised as a returning customer. The premises were spotless. I had cod and chips which was beautifully cooked and excellent value. All the meals were polished off and all in all it was an excellent start to our break away.

We had hear so many about this chippy we were so disappointed 😥 with the fish and chips from there we hadn't to have 4 rennes each will never step feet in there again and the price for a dinner time is discussing to just seat in the car £9 60 for one fish and chips

We decided to go there for Chippy Friday for a change.....NEVER AGAIN! This has to be the worst fish and chips we have ever bought. Chips were rubbery and bitty and the fish was flat and dry. I'm pretty sure it was purchased from Iceland frozen foods or something. It was dire and at £9.30 was certainly not worth the money. Not going there again...shame.

Brilliant food tonight as always, cooked to perfection and served by friendly staff in a lovely clean welcoming shop. Highly recommend this place, a bit more expensive maybe, but not when it's good food well cooked. Thanks to all the staff ♥️

This chippy is quite convenient for people living in Trefnant as our own village chippy is rarely open and when it does actually open the chips are always under-cooked. I always recommend The Chippery as the food is good as is the service.

We had to detour and were running late going to Llandudno for a show so decided to eat on route. If we're at the seaside we have to have fish but time was against that. I'd seen a Llandudno review that mentioned this place so we gave it a go as we were passing. Fish and chips between us. I waited in the car for the Mrs..hurry up. Anyhow, it was busy and the food was cooked fresh so that took the time, no more than 10 minutes really, not a problem. They were very good and we'd make a diversion when passing again, only about 2 minutes off the St. Asaph junction on A55. Reading reviews about the size of portions, ours was fine. £9 though, not a cheap meal any more but one portion was enough between us. Recommended, tasted better with tomato sauce.

Popped in at lunchtime 12:45, one customer eating in cafe. I ordered Fish, Chips & Peas to take away. The food was cooked to order, so my expectations were high, freshly cooked cod, perfectly golden fried chips and delicious peas ..... NOT WHAT I GOT! The fish was not at all what I expected, not like the normal white flakey cod but a very flat battered fish, I guess around 3oz (85g), the chips were hard, like they were reheated from the day before and with all the starch soaked out of them, finally the peas, again seemingly like yesterday's colourless and tasteless. Staff were very pleasant, premises looked very clean, just a shame about the food Cost £10:40

We have been purchasing take-aways from The Chippery on a regular basis over the past two years. It is excellent (and we are fussy where we eat.) We have tried many items from their menu, including fish (large and small), chips, scampi, steak and kidney pudding, chicken breast and chicken bites, curry sauce, mushy peas etc. Everything is cooked or heated to order and is carefully prepared. Fried food is never greasy and doesn't leave an after-taste (like the food in many chip shops). The staff are well-organised, polite and put the customer at the heart of what they do. (Also they were very careful during the pandemic.)

Fish was lovely..chips tasted like they were yesterday’s leftovers..dry and hard. Maybe the fat wanted changing…it all came in fancy boxes but I would rather have had a better quality meal. The young lady serving was very pleasant and polite. Quite expensive for a mediocre takeaway

Found this on apple maps and were really disappointed with the food. My wife and I both had the cod and fish which was freshly cooked. Everything was very crispy, which would be fine if the fish wasn’t so thin compared to the batter. You couldn’t taste the fish because of this. My wife threw half her meal away and I managed mine as was hungry but we both agreed this was the most tasteless fish and chips we’d ever had.

i watched the guy drop a sausage and still serve it to a customer because he didn't think anyone had seen him! disgusting man. when i told the customer he was serving he said i was lying and then wanted to fight me! this place should be shut down!

Come here for tea every time we visit our caravan , won’t find better ! Phone through the order and ready when you get there what more can you want

The chips are very nice and a good portion, my wife had a fish and the batter was thicker than normal but still nice, I had the steak and kidney pie which was over cooked inside, they also got the order wrong over the phone....

We pre-ordered a takeaway of two small cods in batter with one regular chips, and asked for lots of salt and vinegar. (They also sell haddock, plaice, scampi and fish-fingers, so a good selection of fish). We collected the order about 12 minutes later and...

We stopped off on route home and had really delicious fish and chips. The fish was really tasty and well cooked an the batter not too thick. The chips were good too. We would visit again. Staff were friendly too.

Fish chips & peas and pie & chips was around £16 which I thought was well overpriced, the chippy was nice and clean ,the staff looked a bit miserable for some reason,The food was cooked freshly but tasted pretty average,there was a lot of scrap...

Great service. Cleanest chippy kitchen I have ever seen. Lots of options including vegan, meals, healthy, curries etc. And chips with all the traditional trimmings! Thank you for bringing out the mushy peas we forgot to our car too!

The Chippery is close to St Asaph Cathedral roundabout. It has a well-deserved 5* food hygiene rating. The open lay-out allows you to see right into the kitchen area. Portions are OK and nicely served in cardboard boxes. The menu is well displayed with prices. Food can be eaten in the seated café area for no extra charge.

when this chip shop opened the portions were very good. you felt you got value for money. not any more. today we were charged nearly £10 for two small portions of fish and chips. The fish was fine but the amount of chips were so small I thought they had forgotten to fill the container up, but no both were the same. Pity they have become so tight with the chips. they are the cheapest part of the meal and spuds are cheap nowadays. wont be going there again.

Went on a Wednesday lunch time. Asked for a small portion of chips and got a very small portion for the price of £1-80. The amount of chips was small for this price, elsewhere I would have received three times the amount of chips. On the Chippery's web site the price of chips (presumed to be a normal portion) was £1-50. The chips were good though. Have previously had fish only from this restaurant and the fish was very good.

Nicest fish and chips and the politest and friendliest of staff. The shop was lovely and clean. Would recommend highly.

After a slow drive into Wales on a Friday night we decided to stop off for a Fish &Chip; break , just as good as FISH TRAM CHIPS Llandudno. Lovely staff & food cooked to order even though we we’re late near there closing time we were made welcome .

Called in other night and had sausage n chips n chips and curry sauce. Opened up when i got home and was convinced theyd given me childs portions. See piks below. Average taste but portions an utter joke for 6 quid. If id put both meals together itd feed one (just). Wont bother again

I can't recommend this place highly enough. The staff are professional and friendly, and the fryer IS exceptionally good. Good old-fashioned service, top quality food prepared in clean, fresh surroundings at a reasonable price for THE perfect fish n chips!!! Thanks guys 💙

We took a detour to find lunch so it is unlikely we'll be back but we did want to acknowledge you. We arrived 20 mins before closing so did the ' we'll just have fish cake & chips if that's ok ' but then we saw more people turn up ....oops should you be closed......you were brilliant.....not once did you try to lock the door. Everyone was welcome and as a team...well what great customer service......you might have been looking to a couple of hours off or a chance to clean ready for the next session but you just cracked on.... and to top it all the food was lovely. I wish we lived locally

We travel the British Isles in our camper van and have had dozens of chip shop meals. Called here last night and we LOVED the fish and chips. None better.

The Chippery, St. Asaph is the sister shop of Fish Tram Chips at Llandudno. Traditional fare, to me, these are the best fish and chips for miles around, cooked in clean and fresh looking premises by very friendly staff. Check first but The Chippery will also freshly cook gluten free fish and chips, though as far as I know this is not yet available in their Llandudno shop. Should you wish, you can enjoy your meal served in their cafe area.

Super Fish and chips zum mitnehmen oder auch gemütlich im Restaurant. Alles sehr sauber und hübsch hergerichtet. Kann ich nur empfehlen und hat sich gelohnt von der Autobahn ab zu fahren

Food tasted nice curry sauce was lovey but with chips been served in boxes i found them to be more soggy,I prefer paper the fish was soggy to, so was a bit disappointed

Really excellent. they will never sell you anything that is not freshly cooked. Fish and chips are delicious and I love their eco consciousness too, that they serve food in cardboard rather than plastic. They have a neat little cafe area too. Seriously, the best fish and chips in North Wales or Chester

What a warm welcome we received after a lovely walk in surrounding countryside. The meals for everyone that followed were served promptly & enjoyed by all. Thank you so much to Pauline & her team for looking after us so well. We'll be back!

The best is still Rockfish, in Brixham - but this little chippy in a small town in North Wales runs it a close second! Recommend the Fish Supper and the Scampi. Fab mushy peas...

Simply the best fish and chips I have ever eaten ! Crispy chips and batter with lovely white fish. Not at all greasy and all at a fair price.

We called on our way home after hearing some good things about this chip shop. We sat in and the waitress came over with the menus. I had the fish supper - fish chip and peas, bread and butter and a pot of tea. The Mrs had the chicken breast chips and curry sauce. The place was nice and clean. Food arrived after about 10 minutes. Fish was good, chips were very good. Mrs said her chicken was nice. Overall, decent meal, but at £22.50 we though that it was overpriced

Standard of food is decent, though the venue itself is heavily modern and lacks charm, speed of service is good, though pricing is not ideal for the current location and climate. This is high end pricing for good quality fish and chips. Not necessarily value for money based on portion size to pricing.

Again I visited second time running now and again very disappointed I ordered my food and could see couple people waiting so I sat down after ordering and it took 25mins for me to receive my order no apology for being slow nothing fish was under the heater when fryed for while and as I got home chips were dry and fish was to this is definitely last time I will visit as there are better places around shame really

Having read good reviews about this place, I thought we'd give it a go. It's not cheap, so I was expecting top notch food. Unfortunately, when we got our fish and chips home, we were disappointed to find that the expensive chips contained mostly crispy bits. There is absolutely no excuse for this and shows poor management of the fryer. We won't be returning.

The best chippy in the area, possibly the best takeaway overall in fact (and I'm embarrassed to admit I've tried most of the local establishments...) The cod and chips is beautiful, and the service is always friendly. Couldn't recommend them more.

Nice little fish and chip cafe by the cathedral in St Asaph. Food cooked to order with a choice of fish. I had a lovely big piece of haddock which was well worth the price. Cafe was a nice place to eat, nothing fancy but nice and clean. Friendly staff, worth a visit. They also do take aways

On babysitting duties with 3 of the grandchildren so we went along for a fish and chips meal. It was really good,'a blast from the past ". Extremely pleasant,efficient staff who satisfied 5 customers ranging from 8 to 79. And all on our doorstep.

bought take away fish and chips here which was excellent, cooked to order. i had a huge piece of plaice in batter. offered a choice of battered or breaded which is excellent. chips first class, plaice fresh succulent and very tasty. one of the best in the area.

Yet to find a better fish and chips in my area, chips are perfectly cooked every time, and are actually tasty without seasoning or sauce. The fish is of a decent size and tastes great! 10/10 would recommend

I'll start by saying that I always tend to like the idea of fish and chips more than than the actual experience of eating it; however, when it comes to The Chippery this is not true. Lovely modern premise that is very clean. Illy Coffee that is made in front of you. Lovely crispy batter on fish (served with a slice of lemon) and golden chunky chips. Perfect!

Lovely, clean takeaway that produced decent sized portions of yummy fish chips and gravy! Fast service, would return if we were in the area again.

My husband and a friend each had a portion of haddock and chips. The fish was cooked to order and the quality of the haddock and the batter was very food. The chips were dry and there was no greasy residue in the carton when they had finished their meal.

Been to the chippery quite a few times, always have the same fish, chips & curry sauce & not forgetting the sausage for my lovely dog, wrapped well to take the 8 - 10 mile journey, why isn't this shop in the best of Wales competition beats me, absolutely wonderful fish & chips cooked to order but u can phone an order but I prefer to call in, the staff are brilliant & make you very welcome, there's even a sit down area as well as the cafe section, really looking forward to my next Friday night munch - well done chippery st Asaph, also have the tram fish chips in Llandudno under their belt - again another superb place.

Open all day from 11.30am, great stop for lunch in the pouring rain, dined in, thought price was reasonable, fish cooked to order, very pleasant inside for a chippy!

We stumbled upon The Chippery when on a random drive, after seeing how well renovated the building has been with beautiful decoration we were convinced to give it a crack. We really weren't disappointed, greeted by friendly staff who couldn't do enough to look after us and then when the food arrived quickly it was absolutely gorgeous, crispy fresh batter and chips with great flavour! We'll be back!!!

The place is nice and clean staff are good but the prices are ridiculous to sit in. We don't mind paying for good food we don't like being ripped off. We eat out a lot at different places and we were ripped off. We won't be visiting again.

Excellent fresh cooked fish and chips which are the nicest I had for a good while. They sell an item called cowboy pickles which I have never come across before, but these are a must to try. Will be back again in the near future.

St.Asaph the smallest city in Wales , has the best fish and chip shop . The food and the service are excellent . They have a seating area for those who want to eat in , also a take away service . Highly recommended.

Visited The Chippery at lunch today April 8th, this is the sister shop of Tram & Chips in Llandudno, there was a family group of us (5) , this was our first visit to The Chippery ,we were greeted by 3 friendly female staff who were attentive and very efficient, food was excellent

It's so handy now calling in for our favourite food on our way into Wales on a Friday night just two minuets off the A55.

Stopped off on the way to Ruthin with the family. The food was good and friendly service but the prices are bonkers! Husband wanted the of fish, chips, and peas with a tea for @£8.40. I opted for cheesed onion pie. After paying up, saw the recipe. My pie was £5.60....1 cheese and onion pie!!!! My whole meal with the chips and peas came to £11. It's probably the most expensive meal I have had all year, a bonkers pricing structure...angry at my hubby for paying because I would have had a stern word. It's a new business and the lady seemed lovely but its not going to succeed when people, locals and tourists alike feel ripped off. That's how we felt after leaving.

on the whole it is good, but depending on who is there .Sometimes the fish is very greasy and is not allowed to stand for the greasy to drain away, and the chip portions are hit and miss.

Called on way home to buy a pie and chips each, our first visit and what a find. Service was excellent and friendly, the food was beautifully cooked and extremely tasty. Chips were excellent without being greasy at all, will certainly call again.

Had some great fish and chips here some of the best I have ever had. Glad they have come to the town will definitely recommend and will always return for my fish and chips in future.

This has just opened in St Asaph had fish chips and peas from there and it was very nice, didn't get masses of chips but good service.
