Superb chips and fresh cod. So tasty and both cooked to perfect. Cod and fish x 2 plus large gravy and peas £26.

Was staying nearby on holiday and was recommended to try this chip shop. Everything was freshly cooked and tasted delicious. The owner also threw in some places to visit in the area. Definitely recommend.

Just got in before it closed. But he still freshly made me fish and chips twice. And it was fantastic when I got home.

Was really looking forward to fish and chips ! Unfortunately the chips were terrible and unedible and threw them away. Such a shame 😞. Fish was well cooked but would not recommend or go again due to the chips

Amazing customer service. Phoned to see if they could meet dietary and they could after a certain time. Got there and they did it for us. Amazing food and great quality, definitely worth a visit

I have been going to this chip shop for 16 years and the best one I know of. David the owner always gives a humorous welcoming at the door. Reasonable prices. The cheesy chips which are my favourite are always top quality.

The only Fish & Chip shop in the world that nearly convinced us to book a Disney Cruise!! Fish and chips are always spot on, the sauces are always freshly made and it’s the highlight of our week popping in for some banter and good food. A little gem of a place, always exceptionally clean. We will be back again soon!

1st time iv been here and to be honest wouldnt rate it sprayed with vingar which when wrapped up in the paper makes it smell so gross didnt smell like vingar thats for sure knocked me sick 🙃the fish itself was ok had better but have had worst also.But no i woukdnt come here again am sorry friendly enough staff but foods not great .

Started weekly picking fish & chips from Trefnant fish and chip shop. Gentleman always very pleasant and smiling, homely atmosphere. Love having my weekly treat from here always really delicious! Do recommend if you’re a fan of quality fish and chips!

This chips from this place are awful. The chips were cold and very expensive for what they were. The owner is discourteous and unprofessional and maths is not a strong point as I was overcharged on more than one occasion. If you want a mediocre chippy tea then look no further than this place. There are better chip shops in Denbigh. Avoid at all costs.

Sub standard in every way. Food tastes awful, expensive and the customer service is better at your local fast food restaurant. Worth avoiding at every cost

Highlight of a further week in lock down - lovely plain and dry hot fish and chips. First time we have been here and quality was good and freshly cooked. Very glad we tried them and as we will be doing a regular animal feed mill run over the coming weeks we will be going again.

The people on here must be friends or family of this guy, as I have just been to this shop, and had one of the worse fish and chips I've ever had. Tiny portion of half cooked chips and several black. They tasted undercooked. Pathetic piece of fish in two small pieces. Very thin, pale batter with no crunchy texture to it......sloppy. I was still hungry after eating it! Literally a handful of chips. Same as fish......a pale and too thin batter. You shouldn't still be hungry after eating a portion of fish and chips, but you will if you go here! That's if you can actually stomach the chips. Amazed at the positive comments on here?!

Took a detour from the coast to go via this excellent chippy! Friendly owner and fab chips. My wife and I won’t normally finish a full portion of chips as often too sickly - these didn’t last long at all!!

We had a Christmas family party at Trefnant Village Hall this year which is just round the corner from the chippy, and ordered food for approx 60 people in advance including adults and children. The food was amazing; good value, and the service was second to none. Would highly recommend. Thank you so much David, see you next year 😃

First visit, owner was lovely and welcoming, chatted whilst waiting for the order to be cooked. Lightly battered fish was lovely as were the chips. Altogether a great experience would recommend if like us you are holidaying locally. Thank you.

Nice chippy Nice staff Opening hours aren't great... Been several times and it's closed or they stop serving as they are closing in the next 15mins or so I've been told before... Other than that nice chippy in a small village... parking can be a pain sometimes

Fabulous chips and the David experience is x tra ordinary. Most people pay a lot of money for that kind of entertainment 5 star rating and the rest xxxxx

To be fair as a rule it is very good. Occasionally part of the order is missing so I tend to be a bit more vigilant now. David is always friendly and chatty and quality of food is good. Will keep calling here as we should be supporting local businesses.

Saw the chippie was open at 7.00pm so decided to call. The proprietor was very welcoming and chattie. Cooked fish and chips just for our order. Excellent. Will be back.

Yo no suelo comprar pescado y patatas, normalmente no me impresionó demasiado. Sin embargo, mi marido y yo quedamos muy impresionados con la encantadora, una gran pieza de pescado con pasta fresca y patatas fritas crujientes preciosa luz. No grasienta. Disfrutamos mucho de ellos. Estamos de Caerwys y la próxima vez que pescado y patatas fritas, lujoso Trefnant nos llegará.

We regularly visit here for fish and chips. You are always greeted in a friendly way and the food is great. Without doubt the best chips in the area, freshly prepared and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Always have a great meal when we order from here. Fresh and well cooked time after time. There is sometimes a queue but that is proof of it popularity. The staff are great with friendly, welcoming banter. Would thoroughly recommend.

Llamamos en nuestro camino a casa recientemente. El propietario siempre es acogedora. Siempre es agradable y limpio. No hemos tenido nada que no hemos disfrutado. Mi favorito es el pescado y patatas fritas todavía guisantes blandos.. Se abre la hora de comer, así que a veces es demasiado práctico y muy tentador.

Dropped in for chips, and left with an unusual fishcake: lime and ginger. It worked, I did taste ginger and lome and there was a favourable amount of fish too. Covered in a light batter, this is a fishcake for the gourmet! My first choice would have been the advertized leek and haddock fishcake, but I'm glad i went for the alternative. I recommend calling in to see what other flavours they offer!

Firstly I would like to recommend this chippy to all. My husband is quite particular about fish suppers but enjoys this every time from trefnant. Secondly I am quite disappointed to read a review claiming the chips to be "soggy"... this to me is quite bizarre. I have NEVER had a soggy chip from there. The food is always lovely. Carry on with what you are doing in that chippy because you would get chippy of the year vote from me everytime

One of the best traditional Fish and Chip outlets in North Wales.They are, like so many other food traditions, dying out or being forced out by the mass marketed food outlets, so if your on the St Asaph to Denbigh/ Mold Road passing through TREFNANT watch out for this CHIPPY right by the traffic lights. Make every effort to park up and enjoy quality Chippy food.

OH Dear!! What has happened? this has consistently been our favourite chip shop for miles around but our last fish and chip dinner was poor, the fish portions were minute and the batter was soggy the portion of peas only half filled the carton and they were cold and watery, the chips were soft and not freshly fried. Sorry Dave you can do better.

Dave does a service gives good value and will always try to cater to ones choices, serves limited core hours. Recommend the pies, home made delicacies, good chip portions and have nice fish. Must be consistent in providing hot fresh food. Always a warm welcome give it a try let us know.
