Treat for the kids holiday for chippy tea, tucked into it well(piglets) lol. Mine lg cod chips n c/sce hit the spot. Piping hot & fresh.

Excellent food, cheap and big portions. Friendly staff too. Would recommend highly.

If you are Hungry then Mary's place is the Best .. my family and I eat here at least once a week .. there is no better fish and chips shop in Rhyl .. my grandkids love to go there .. and you get 1 and a half pieces of tasty fish .. who else does that. I love there curry sauce .. and the mushy peas .. nothing is too much for the staff who are friendly and funny .. you always leave with a smile on your face .. ♥️

We have just moved from Greater Manchester to Rhos on Sea. Brilliant everything about it was wonderful first time at Town Fryer and it won't be the last.

Fresh food, large portions, very reasonably priced & always great service

Popped in here for some food as I was starving after a long 3 hour drive to Rhyl. I had large cod, chips, curry sauce and a can of coke for £7.50. Absolute bargain, didn't wait long and the food was absolutely lovely and all the ladies serving were really friendly. Would definitely go again if I am nearby

Absolutely perfect fish and chips, it was amazing, my daughter had the cheeseburger and said that was great also. I liked the fact that they had discounted OAP meals but you don't have to be an OAP to get it. And to to it off the staff and Mary the owner where really nice and couldn't do enough for us. Will be back definitely.

Not been for a while, food good reasonable price, the one thing that spoils it for us was Mary the owner, should keep her opinions to herself. Was shouting her opinions to anybody who wanted to listen. She should calm down a bit likes the sound of her own voice to much it was ringing in my head after we had left. Want

This is the best chip shop in rhyl. Very good value for money with fantastic staff who always great everyone with a warm welcoming smile.

Travelled from Bodnant Gardens to this chip shop on our way home. The food was freshly cooked and was divine! Kids thoroughly enjoyed their chips on the promenade.

On holiday in the area we did some research and decided to give this place a try. So glad we did! We had to wait a while to be served but all the food was fresh, hot and delicious. Staff friendly and polite. Prices were extremely reasonable compared to our home town, and the portions were generous. It seems to be a very popular chippy and had sold out by the time they closed at 7pm so get there early.

Cracking little chippy. Ladies who ran it out front were a great laugh. Food was very fresh and portion sizes were more than good enough. Being from the Midlands it was very surprising to see how cheap it was in comparison to back home. Almost half price on a lot of things.

Rhyl in North Wales has always been a family favourite. I spent a lot of time there as a child and with my own children. Children love it. There's nothing like fish and chips at the seaside, so with a break in the wet weather and Rhyl only an hour from home, I decided to visit The Town Fryer. On entering, it first appears a bit cramped, but feels more open as you look around, with about six tables in the front and a couple in the back, where the toilets are also situated. The shop and particularly the toilets looked a bit tired but were clean and tidy. The staff were active, friendly, and appeared to work well together, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The food was very reasonably priced and tasty. A large cod, chips, and peas, plus chilli con carne and chips, cost just £10.10 in total. For the large cod, another fillet was cut in half and placed on top of the full fillet, which was fine. There was also a dine-in special at the time of my visit of cod, chips, mushy peas, and a pot of tea for just £5.50. Incredible value for the quality of the food. This chip shop gives you hugely generous portions of freshly cooked, high quality fish and the best, biggest chips you could wish for. Much cheaper than elsewhere too! Staff are friendly and chatty, and they always make sure you're happy with your choices. You can eat in with table service too. Highly recommended.

We got there just before closing but they served us just as if we'd been there at opening. That's good service. We had take away but the seating looked good.

Me my partner and three children "£38" for four fish, chips and mushy peas and one chicken nuggets chips and beans. WOW all the food was excellent and the portions really good. The staff so friendly and polite if in Rhyl looking for great food and great prices definitely worth a visit. 👍👍👍👍

Great place to eat, each time we visit Rhyl we make sure we visit here for food. Service is great, kind and very caring. The ladies make sure everyone is served swiftly and always politely too, could ask for better customer service!

Great for a fussy family and allowed our dog to sit under the table too. Really good fish and chips with all the extras. Big portions and the choice of healthy options. They went over and above to accommodate us, even doing a lovely fresh steamed fish with jacket and salad to accommodate allergies.

Amazing atmosphere! The staff are very friendly and helpful. They sorted a highchair for my nephew and went above and beyond for my niece cutting up her sausage. Very good portion sizes and great price too, food was very fresh and warm.

The review that came up in my search said they do gluten free so if you're travelling there specially you should know that they aren't doing GF fish & chips any more. However they sorted us out a good alternative and our regular fish & chips were really nice.

Called in on way back from Conwy back to Manchester for the 1st time with partner and step son, brilliant food and for the price would not complain one bit,we all loved the fish and chips with tea and bread 🥪 and a cracking food establishment for the regulars that go in proper down to earth food.

Went looking for a chippy with the family & came across this little local chippy. Table service was brilliant and the food was spot on & great value for money. I’m skeptic with relates to food hygiene ratings but surely there must’ve been some major improvements. Well done The Town Fryer… one happy family. 👍🏾

What an amazing place! We visited on a Monday and this place was packed! We were able to take our dog in which was great and the service was excellent. Best fish and chips we had had in years and such amazing value! £11.50 for fish & chips for two including a pot of tea, mushy peas and bread and butter! We would pay that for one down south! And they brought a sausage out for the dog! No wonder this place was packed!

Best fish and chips we've had for a long time. How they do the portions for the cost I don't know. The photo is 1 cod special and 1 OAP cod special and included a pot of tea, a pot of coffee and a slice if bread and butter each total cost £11.45 for the 2 of us. We ate in but take away prices are cheaper. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the place was very clean. Thank you for a lovely meal. This will be our go to chippy from now on.

Wow, the fish & chips were delicious, the service was excellent and very friendly, the building is a little dated but don't let that put you off, the portions were huge especially for the low cost of the meal, we got the cod special, one & half fish chips & peas bred & butter & a cup of tea for £6.50 each, proper bargain and well worth a visit 👍

We have been going to the Town Fryer for a number of years and although it says I went in September I actually go about one a month/6 weeks, travel 6 miles to get there because it is the best around, the portions are more than adequate and often struggle to finish fish chips and gravy, also the prices are the best around bar none, there are places which are £9+ for a fish dinner of the same size so like I said unbeatable value, if you have any doubts there's only one way to find out and that's go and see for yourself how good it is and thank me later.

Great fish and chips, ample tea as part of the meal deals. Lovely fish, nice flakes and great value for money. Its our Fish and chips destination when in Rhyl, my old home town. Went again in November 2022, and the Fish and chips are still great, the fish particularly was the best I'd had in Rhyl, so fresh and delicious. 2023 - just wanted to mention how good this place is. It's still amazing value, £6.50 for the most delicious cod, chips, peas, buttered bread and a pot of tea. The batter is spot on, loads of delicious fish, chips just right and lovely peas. Great staff, will keep returning 👍 November 2023 - still the best Fish and chips in Rhyl 😊👍👍
