What an absolute joke of a business model! Full disclosure; we didn’t get to try the food as we couldn’t get into the restaurant! Wife and I decided to visit on spur of the moment as both hungry. Tried to get a table but were told we needed to download the App first; seriously?! As we were hungry we played along before realising neither of us had a phone signal within the restaurant? We explained this to the staff but were told we needed to download the App or we couldn’t order food; no offer of WiFi passwords etc. At this point we walked away and went elsewhere where we didn’t have to jump through hoops to get something to eat! On reflection; - Not everyone (especially the elderly) has a smart phone / QR Reader so I’m assuming those people can’t eat there? Hardly being “inclusive” here? - I’m assuming that once you download the app, you then need to register your details etc? This obviously adds even more delay time but more worryingly, is this just a data mining exercise to sell on your information to “relevant” parties? - As we were leaving we noticed just 3 tables were being used. Despite this, staff seemed unbothered that a £60+ order was walking out the door?! Can’t see this lasting long!

Enjoyable evenbut with limited time available. We booked the table for 7-30pm on a Sunday bank holiday and were told we had one hour before the food and drinks were stopped being served. The website says 10 pm. No communication from the staff alerting us to the limited timescale, when booking initially so a bit let down really. We will be back again to see the robots who do a great novelty job serving the food ordered off the app

Went to one of these last night OMG Never again 1) app was down for some phones 2) half ur food doesn't show up 3) food ok but 1 to 10. 3 at best for quality of food 4) service abysmal, waited ages for each order Never in the memory of man have i ever wanted to go to mc'ds. Withing 5 mins of getting there with all the chaos I'd had enough. I wanted to leave and not get anything. It was only because it was someones birthday meal that i stayed. Some others did walk out. They just couldnt be arsed with it. Overall. I would give this place 1 out of 10. Never again.

To celebrate our 24th wedding anniversary, we decided to go for a meal here. On arrival we were shown to our table & ordered our drinks, to be told that there was no draft beer. We ordered 2 bottled beers which work out a lot more expensive. We then ordered our starters via the app, which wasn't easy to download. When the starters arrived, they were cold! Given the benefit of the doubt we re-ordered thinking it might have been a delay with the robot but the next order was cold! We tried ordering different dishes but every single one was cold! I'm no expert on health & safety but I'm pretty sure that food has to be served at a certain temperature? Needless to say I won't be returning any time soon as I don't like paying top dollar for cold food. As we were paying, the waitress asked was everything OK to which my husband told her about our experience. I just think it's only right to let people know about our visit because the waitress still took our money with a lack of empathy for our experience.

Finding a restaurant that pleases everyone in the family can be tough, but TCB St Helens hit the spot ! The kids loved the buffet options, and we were impressed by the fresh ingredients and tasty dishes!!!

Just returned home after meeting up with friends here we all enjoyed are meals, some items were only warm but loved the salt an pepper prawns ok they didn't devein them but they are served still in the shell, the beef in black bean sauce in the noodle nest was lovely and as usual the deserts were tasty. Staff were nice and polite they were quick at removing the used dishes and aways spoke to us.

Literally just left me and my family were excited to go out together and have a Chinese meal the staff were so unfriendly it made the atmosphere awful except the meet and greet guy his name is Jordan he was very nice the food was rubbery they didn’t de vain the prawns so we couldn’t eat them it all came luke warm and we paid £108 for a horrible experience we will not be returning also the women who owns the place has a horrible attitude would NOT recommend!!!

Don't friggin bother. Absolutely nothing good to eat, poor quality food and ingredients used. Kids running amok as usual sticking their hands and touch all the food.

Me and my friend couldn’t eat the starters or mains. Nothing we ordered which was supposed to be salt and pepper flavoured was actually flavoured. The rice was hard and crunched in my teeth so I couldn’t eat it. The chicken was cheap tasting, and we left so much food as nothing tasted nice. I did raise to the waitress my rice was hard and she walked away. The food tasted warmed up too and the chocolate cake which wasn’t ate. Will not go back here after this experience.

I went to St. Helens Chinese buffet with my friend for a nice meal out and it was amazing! The staff were so friendly and very helpful! As soon as you walk in you get asked to download their app and they explain everything to you. The food is brought to you as well so no need to constantly get up for food. The food itself was gorgeous. Loved it all and there was so much choice on everything. Definitely recommend going The price is also very reasonable!

We have been regulars for years, a little apprehensive about going with Covid but as usual a warm friendly welcome, food was ordered via the app which was very fast and easy to use, staff showed us how but would have got it if they hadn't, food was the same lovely as before definatly worth a visit and all Covid precautions are in place, thank you Chinese buffet c u soon xxx

First time coming back under the new COVID-19 rules, and cannot say enough good things. Despite having a lot of walk-ins, the staff handled the situation perfectly with manners and professionalism (despite people with half a brain being shocked and rude it was busy on the last day of Eat Out Help Out on a Bank Holiday). Sat immediately after our 3:00pm booking and sat at a table where the instructions on ordering through the app were explained to us along with our drink orders. Ordering was so easy and the food came in perfect portion sizes, again with great service. I don’t think there’s a bad thing I could say! We were initially worried how it would fare under the new rules but we had a great afternoon, and will coming back again soon.

Absolute garbage. Eat out to help out night, should be throw it all out to help out ! Limited menu serviced by an app that doesn’t actually work, when food is finally delivered after you have had to ask 3 different staff where the food is it’s served in tiny little dishes of about 3 mouthfuls, and cold. The food and atmosphere used to be great here when it was a proper Buffett. This cabin won’t survive running this format, there is no difference of people mixing here at a buffet than people going the pub for a drink. We for one won’t be back until such time.

Took my partner to the buffet today food was awful there where only 3 choice of desserts meat was off tasting sea weed came out tasting like bleach is Don’t understand how they can charge for a grand buffet and have a limited menu food is awful and not many choices my advice people don’t go here till Covid has stopped so we can go up and help yourself it is not a good experience .

A very welcome return of the Chinese Buffet in St.Helens. I was a little sceptical at first about how it all would work at 'buffet' but boy I was surprised. The wife and I downloaded the app, booked a table, paid a deposit and went to eat. The first thing you notice is how clean it was, lock down spent polishing it up no doubt. Secondly the service, excellent and clearly understood. Instead of going yourself you simply place in the app what you want and they bring it to you. Simplicity its self. Be warned, the portions are small but unlimited so dont panic. To be honest I prefer it the 'new' way and would be happy when all returns to normal to have the experience extended. Well done.

Great place to take the kids. Eat as much or as little as you want. Food gets topped up regularly and is generally very clean. Plates get taken away rather quickly so you can go and get yourself a bit more, there are no limits apart from the Ice Cream which is served to you rather than helping yourself. I personally can’t eat Chinese anymore as the MSG cripples me but that’s any Chinese not just this place so it’s not really worth me going but do if we’re going as an extended family thing to be sociable. The only negative I would give is that it gets VERY loud in there at times but the kids love it.

Food was reasonable has been a noticeable demise in the quality of the food we have noticed on the past few visits will definitely go again hopefully when this covid19 is over they will be on top of there game

I had reason to complain due to poor quality of food and service received. When speaking to the manageress over my complaint, she simply laughed in my face. She thought it was funny. Funny? really??? I was with family & friends had received disgusting food and quality of service and she laughs.Obviously doesnt care about customers, nor the restaurants reputation.

It was one of our grand daughters birthdays. She was 13. She asked to go for a Chinese. We decided to go to the Chinese buffet restaurant in St Helens even though we live in Liverpool and the one in the city centre is closer.We tried to book on line using their website portal. Unfortunately it said it couldn’t take the booking. We where asked to complete a pop up with our details of number in our party, time and date of booking. I completed all of this.This restaurant offers a free meal on your birthday providing you complete a on line booking 3 hours prior to the booking. I didn’t do this as I was unable to access their booking application, only a pop up, requesting the information I provided.I booked for 5pm on the Saturday.We didn’t hear from the restaurant until 4.50pm on the Saturday confirming our booking. We got to the restaurant at 5.12pm. 15 miles away from our home.Shown to our table and food was a plenty. Food was excellent. The grand daughter loved it.When going to settle the bill. I explained the situation concerning the promo code for the birthday not down loaded as booking hadn’t been confirmed until 10 minutes prior to the booking. The assistant advised I had to pay in full despite having passport for the grand daughter with us and shown to the assistant. There was a huge queue to settle other people’s bills so I didn’t contest and thought I would do the following day.Sunday arrived and the restaurant rang me asking about a booking for 5pm I said I attended the day previous. Which came as a surprise to them. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained to the person what had happened the day before. They said they would speak to their manager and come back to us. Call ended. He rang me back and said his boss would be in at 3pm. I said I would come to the restaurant.I turned up at the restaurant and saw the manager. I again explained everything again. Why I hadn’t down loaded the voucher as they had not confirmed the booking which they say will be done within 10 minutes. I advised the we arrived with 22 minutes of confirming the booking. The manager simply laughed in my face and said there was nothing she could do and continued to laugh. In my frustration my voice became louder although controlled. No swearing at any time. Despite her continued laughing in my face.I left the premises. Called them and requested their head office number as I wished to complain. Still waiting to hear back from their HQ but not expecting anything.So if you want to be insulted and held to ransom this is the place to go.Foods great. Service is crap. Overall experience poor. Customer care zero.

Came for lunch with my partner, staff were very polite got asked by the server if we had been which we hadn’t and he explained everything clearly. Nothing was too much for the staff, lovely place and will be coming back.

Visited the chinese buffet on wed 4th march .1st impression was the resteraunt looked large .and tidy.but not many people eating in there .we was shown to a table and the waitress explained about the buffet and ordered our drinks ..as we have been to quite a few all you can eat buffets .we was looking forward to the starters ..thats when we realised that there was hardly any starters everything was either cold .or the food tray was empty.we asked a waiter if there was any ribs .she went to see and came back with they will be 15 mins .so we sort of managed with what scraps was left in the trays .and some crispy duck pankakes which i was suprissed there was any left as every other buffet ive been to they go like hot cakes..back at the table and tucked into the crispy duck and yuk ! It tasted of greasy stale fat .so back to see what else we could have for starter .i noticed other people wondering around aimlesly looking in the empty trays ?? The ribs had arrived .if you could call them that they where tiny and tasted of greasy stale fat..decided to go for main meal .hardly any choice as again all the food trays where empty .i managed to scrape a bit of duck kung po from the bottom of the tray after my measly helping the tray was empty..again people wandering around wondering what to have !started to eat it and guess what ..it tasted of greasy stale fat...was going to have some fruit but hardly any..and what fruit there was ..was all dried up .so asked for the bill .the guy on the till asked how did we enjoy our meal .so i told him we didnt .on highensight i shouldnt have paid ...we arrived at around 7pm .so expected everything to be full and fresh as it only opened at 6pm..will i go again ..not a chance !!!

If your in town and like Chinese , then you need to pay it a visit . Decent food and as much as you want at a reasonable price .

Good value for money and food was good and good choice...staff were good and helpful...evening has more variety of dishes but little bit more expensive

The children’s policy certainly needs to be reviewed as two young children aged 7 and 9 paying full price is shocking - they don’t have the capacity to eat what an adult eats!! Wouldn’t recommend to people with children as not good value due to this. It just needs reviewing to children up to 12 years, or even 16 when they are classed as being an adult.

It is what it is! All you can eat buffet with a surprising amount of variety. You don’t go here to experience fine cuisine, however all seemed fresh and clean.

A bog standard Chinese buffet restaurant, £16 per adult,,, the food food is bog standard, not much of main meal food, lots of chips pizza garlic bread, some spring rolls over cooked,£7 for a wee cocktail.

I was in a party of four adults an two children So called ribs were a big disappointment, but great choice of other food an the staff on the floor was very busy would I go back again don't think so u can get at least good meal in any other restaurant in st Helens for the price

Been here many times over the years and it has become our favourite place to go for family Birthday meals.

This is without doubt the best eat all u want restaurant an av been to most of them the staff are freindy the food is the best and they don’t rush you I really recommend it

over the years since this place was opened i have visited it around about once a month,i have found a few times i have been dissapointed,from the quality of the food to the cleanliness ,staff etc.

We ate here on a busy Saturday night the quality of food is very poor the choices are very poor lots nearly empty food trays there are some great Chinese restaurants in town where you get a great meal and so much better value

Just food not as good as we used to have. Portions and turnover slower. Service is very good for a buffet type but the food has become less attractive and needs maybe smaller amounts but more turnover.

Decided to visit this buffet while we were working over in the St Helens area. It looked really nice from outside quite grand in the entrance, nice and clean & new, greeted by staff which were nice and friendly and explained everything to us when we were seated. The cost was £16.99 per person for the “Grand Buffet” and for that sort of money I was expecting grand. The food was very widely spread out so it looked like there was a lot of choice but in reality there wasn’t. The choice of dishes was limited.

Entrance to place is so drab, looks like a derelict old bingo hall. Feet were sticking to floor in the restaurant and the place felt dirty , plates all chipped and felt like an unpleasant canteen.

Food range is good, drinks aren't badly priced. Will try to go another time when it's all fresh and see how we go.

as usual the staff were very friendly and helpful.the used dishes are whisked away very quickly.unfortunatly the buffet is let down,if you go onto there website,theres wonderful looking pictures of the food,unfortunatly not all are as discribed. on the website they praise there ribs available,but when you attend the buffet the ribs presented are ends of ribs ,small and lacking meat,they supply dry ribs and some in a sauce,both were dissapointing the dry ribs were lacking meat and what there was was dry and tasteless,the wet ribs dont seem to of been cooked either in the sauce nor with anything flavoursome so also were very tasteless. nothing like the discription on the website.

I would like to say thank you to all staff at the St Helens venue for a fantastic night! We came for my sisters 30th birthday and there were 18 of us and we all had a fab time. The food was excellent, amazing choice and freshly made. The staff were friendly, polite and very efficient. The atmosphere was pleasant and we were never rushed. I will recommend this place to all my friends from now on and we plan to revisit in November. Thanks again and well done to all!!

Visited with my daughters for their birthdays. Brought our own cakes & kind staff lit their candles and brought them out to us after our dinner.

Visited at about 7.30pm on a Thursday. Restaurant not busy, seated immediately, drinks a little slow to arrive but not excessively. Only one 'cooked to order' station appeared to be open but I never use these anyway as I lack the patience to stand and wait. The selection of starters and main course options was adequate and everything my friend and I tried was of acceptable quality and at about the right temperature. The desserts offered were unexciting and the tiny pots in which ice cream is served are not appropriate for adults. I understand they're intended to limit the amount that kids can chuck at each other but, at almost 70 years old, my aim is no longer all that, so now I just eat it. Note to self: next time, grab a larger bowl on the hike to the ice cream machine and ask the lovely lady to use that instead. Reader's voice-> 'Next time?' Well, yes, I'm sure I shall come back because my overall experience here was in line with expectations: not exceptional but certainly not bad.

Stopped of at the Chinese Buffet when nipping into St Helens, I normally try to avoid these places, not because there is anything wrong with the place, but I have a pre conception of people eating far more than they need.But I was pleasantly surprised , the staff are friendly and attentive and the food was very nice,with a good variety of choices,so all in all a nice visit.

looking on the website the pictures of the food dont show what it realy is in real life,i attended with a wheelchair user,upon entering the building the foyer looked drab and unkempt ,not a good start,the small lift to get to the main dining area was shaky and wouldnt start ,i had to go upstairs and close the door before the lift would work,ok as i could walk up a long staircase but if the wheelchair user was alone they couldnt of.we got to the main eating area and the floor felt tacky underfoot as if it hadnt been mopped corectly,the staff were and always are very helpfull,starting to look around at the selection and tried the ribs,now these looked nice on there website but in reality small ends of ribs and not a lot of meat on them. only one beef dish ,too many chicken dishes.at the terykki where one could choose 3,4,5 types of meat or seafood to have theres now a notice saying only 2 types allowed why is this?,the noodle soup has gone,this was where they made a soup for your liking.there were a number of dishes that were empty and not filled ,the sushi bar was ok,but ive been here over the past few years now ,usualy once a month.the place seems to be lacking the food they used to have the selection etc,the decor at the entrance is drab and needs a good overhaul.now as we paid for the evening buffet which is more expensive after 5pm one would think that more attention to detail on having the food topped up.although he staff were helpful there seemed to be less staff on to take drink orders etc,now this was a midweek visit but that shouldnt matter.

Went along with husband & son for a special treat . Great service,good food hot & replenished constantly. Great variety. Lovely friendly staff and the bonus as my son left his phone on the table & the young female waitress ran after us to pass it back to him -she is a credit to the restaurant -well done & thank you

All dishes were piping hot, food was replenished often, staff very helpful, no waiting for either food or drinks.

My husband daughter & her boyfriend decide we would try this place as heard quite nice things about it. Food was not what we thought it would be, obviously we knew it was one of those eat all you can buffets but food was. Bland, all tasted the same, variety was good. Very dated surroundings. Could do with a decent clean especially the floors in restaurant and toilets ( a lady slipped and fell in restaurant while we were there). Food extremely salty. Won’t be returning

Food was ok, a bit dried up. Cam to pay at the end and was charged adult price of £16 for an 11 year old. It advertises kids eat for £7.50 and you would expect 11 year olds to be included in this. I did say an adult and 2 kids when I arrived and wasnt corrected. They couldnt care less that the age ranges werent clearly marked anywhere. Beware, overpriced and poor quality food. I wont be going again.

Place was clean and the amount of choice you got was amazing - you name it,they have it. Unfortunately during our visit there was no ice cream being served which is a dessert favourite of ours but there is fruit,cakes, pancakes made on request and jellies. The staff were great too. Not much else to say really but I would recommend it.

Visited on a Saturday at around 8.30,lots of the food was dwindling and to be fair ,the manager said if anything needs topping up to let him know,but lots of things needed topping up,his own eyes could tell him that.So definitely don't go late in the evening,as they are trying to gauge so they're not throwing away to much food.Good for the business,not so for dinners.Cutlery and carpets very dirty .Charged full price of nearly £17 for an 11 year old who are small amount,charged full price because she's over 1.5!.Staff and manager tried to do their best ,but overall not good enough for the price.Won't be returning.

10 of us went for lunch, 7 adults, 1 junior and 2 babies. We’ve been a few times before when it first opened.

I went for lunch here and was disappointed. The choice at lunch was limited, most dishes tasted the same. All were not hot just warm. As it was midweek and quite the food sits there for some time, I imagine when busy it’s turned over fast so topped regular. There is obviously more on offer in the evening so probably better then.

Wow, so much choice and all great. As someone who loves chinese food and has a huge appetite it was ideal. Pleasant surroundings, although if your looking for intimacy then this isn't the place! But we're there for the food!

We loved the tapayaki station. The noodles were kids favourite. Roasted ducks, honey BBQ pork and Roasted pork belly were very authentic. The desserts were fantastic as in a Chinese restaurant. Pancakes with ice-cream, marshmallows with chocolate fountain, vanilla pudding with hot custard, little pots cakes. We got spoit there. Will recommend to friends and family.

What a great choice of quality food served here. Not a massive fan of buffets in general but this place is definitely somewhere I would go back. Only negative really was the price, in terms of buffets it is expensive but I thought it was great. Lots of freshly cooked food put out frequently in a nice surroundings. Only reasons not given 5 was parking was over the road in a carpark that charges and the cost. Otherwise you must go and try it for yourself you will not be dissapointed.

Restaurant was well-presented. Loads of food displayed. Chinese dishes, Thai dishes, English dishes, Live station BBQ. Even my fussy kids found something they liked. Dessert section was surprisingly nice

extremely disappointed! we've been going to the buffet for a number of years and normally very happy with the quality of food and the service! Have always recommended this place to people..... not any more! last night the toilets were really dirty, the food was awful, most stuff cold, some stuff really dry (been left out for too long!) mum found blood in her rib and when she reported it the manager wasn't willing to accept it and said it was marinade, clearly wasn't, the girl who served our drinks, blonde hair blue shirt, literally just dumped them on the table anywhere, put a glass of wine and pint of lager in front of my toddler and completely ignored me when I repeatedly pointed out the my drink was at the opposite end of the table (I couldn't get it due to feeding my baby!) we spoke to management about all our concerns and upon leaving the manager was extremely arrogant about the complaints and actually said "you are fine to put a bad review on trip advisor, thank you we hope not to see you again"!!! unbelievable..... clearly didn't give a toss.

AVOID THIS RESTAURANT. DON’T MAKE OUR MISTAKE.

Lots of choice and the food tasted good. We arrived for dinner/evening buffet so I would assume there would be more choice than lunch. I would recommend everybody to try the Teppanyaki bar as the food is cooked fresh and hot. The wait for the food was a lot less than some other buffet restaurants and staff were helpful especially considering my kids can be a handful at times. Definitely be coming again soon!!

We used to love this place,went about November, and everything was swimming in Grease, so we stopped going, we have been going to the Sing Ping buffet, which we have been regulars for years, the food is always fresh and pipping hot,would recommend it to anyone, as for The Chinese Buffet on Bridge Street in St. Helens, well I wouldn'take, it saddens me to have to write this review I will Never try it again

Rotten tifles that tasted and smelled like vomit! I complained to a waitress who actually heaved just as my daughter did! The manager came over and insisted the food was fresh and that a new supplier had been used, and that sometimes cream can smell like blue cheese? He would not accept any responsibility or apologise. Another customer came to us and said she had just complained too and had bee told the same excuse. On paying the Bill I asked for the price of a drink to removed due to the inconvinence, we were told the bill had to be paid in full, another manager then started giving excuses and blamed the 'shop over the road' all the while she was sniggering.

Previously ate reasonably well here, but visited here on Friday, the 8th of March and our experience was less than average.

Last minute choice for a family meal, we were concerned as we hadn’t booked, but no problem and were seated straight away by friendly staff, Who took our drinks order and told us where the range of dishes were, off we went in all different directions to gather our food, plentiful and varied, ranging from mild coconut dishes to beautiful presented chef cooked food cooked for you while you wait.. returning to our booth the drinks were waiting and as it was a bustling Saturday evening, I didn’t expect, quite a few family’s with youngsters, food servers constantly topping up so no empty pots also impressed, sweet area complete with chocolate fountain finished of the evening perfectly, reasonably priced too at just over £100 for 4 adults and one teenager

Great Variety and the teppenyaki is always a hit when it’s on. Nice to get some hot fresh food. Would give 5 stars if there were more vegetarian options, but it’s atill very good.

The food looked and tasted fantastic and the service from the staff was polite and helpful, would definitely recommend visiting. Very welcoming and has a good atmosphere.

Real shame. Rough joint but it is St Helens. Decent service & selection. Food ok on the night but both my mother and I got diarrhoea and that’s all you need to now!

All the family gathered here for my better half’s birthday and we had a wonderful time and the food is great

Having tried many different Chinese Buffet restaurants in the U.K. and overseas, I must say that The Chinese Buffet in St Helens is one of the best, I have visited. The food is always hot, with a great choice of dishes, and at very reasonable prices. The restaurant is always clean and tidy, with friendly staff, would certainly recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Been here a few times while visiting family in St. Helens. Always so much choice, hot food, great friendly service and good lively atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

I’ve been in loads of Chinese Buffet Restaurants this is by far the best. Staff where attentive and helpful. Food was really good, sometimes a little salty but in the main it was lovely. Toilets where clean they just need to change the toilet seats due to staining. I would definitely go back.

The food is fantastic there’s loads to choose they could improve on The puddings not much to choose from the pancakes with out of this world this is our second visit and it’s a lot cleaner than the first time I went we had a fantastic time my daughter enjoyed her birthday there.

Its expensive if I'm honest but you can choose what you want and go back for more, try new things or stick to what you know.

Visited here with a group of 22. Cannot fault the food but the problem came when we tried to pay our bill. 4 of the group left earlier and so payed their bill. When we went to pay the rest they said there were still 4 adults to pay. Luckily we had the receipt but they still tried to deny it had been paid and said the authorisation code on the receipt wasn't any of their staff. We had to get the person on the phone who paid the bill and then the staff member suddenly remembered it had been paid. Also found it disgusting that a CHILD!! over 10 pays a full adult price

Went with my friends for a birthday meal , fantastic choice great quality,very friendly and helpful staff . We will be back soon.

HOW CAN THEY JUSTIFY THAT FROM AGES 10 YEARS UPWARD GET CHARGED AN ADULT PRICE (17.95)? My 11 year old eats like a sparrow, but yet i was charged an adult price for him.Food was luke warm,and certain staff members were awfull, so rude when asked anything just pointed to someone else,didnt want to help. qued for 15 mins to get a waffle, only to be told its closed (6.30pm).I had a family of 5eating children were 7yrs 11yrs 15yrs 2 adults with drinks 2 pints bud, 3 juices £91.The most expensive meal ive had for not great food and a shocking service.Also the parking is shocking,no spaces to park near the venue have to walk a good 10 mins away to park.

Went for a family meal. There is so much choice, all hot and to suit all tastes. The hot plates where kept full. The deserts were excellent, the chocolate fountain went down very well with the children. We were all very satisfied. Thank you.

I’ve been to the St Helens restaurant a number of times with family, friends, etc. The actual restaurant is impressive. It’s massive but the service is prompt and we’ve always enjoyed the food. Went this evening with my husband and, apart from noticing that the price had increased by quite a margin since last time - £17.95 per head,plus drinks are extra. A few months ago it was £14. I got a few salt & pepper ribs but left them as they were like charcoal- rock hard and tooth braking. Got a plate of rice and sweet & sour chicken instead. The sweet & sour sauce was tasteless and the chicken bone dry and tough, so that got left. I got some bbq ribs but they were bone dry and tasteless also. I didn’t bother with anything else as I hate food waste. My husband will eat absolutely anything and he tried the sweet & sour chicken but left it after one bite. He then got chicken curry and tried some char sui pork. He said the chicken was dry and the sauce runny and the char sui was just lumps of fat in sauce. He tried sponge with custard as he enjoyed it last time but said the custard was mega-sweet and he didn’t finish it. When paying the young girl on the till asked if we enjoyed our meal. Usually I just say yes but we both commented on the sauces all being tasteless and the meats dry and tough. She just smiled and said she was sorry to hear that but still had to charge in full. Sadly I don’t think we will return

my overall experience was disgraceful. the hygiene was awful and disappointing, the service was shocking, the food was disgusting,would get better service and better food from a takeaway, the waitress was cocky, and they overcharged my meal. i would personally not recommend this place, and i will certainly not be returning.

This restaurant is one of a number, in a chain, in the North West. We were welcomed nicely when we arrived and shown to our table even though we had not booked in advance. We were informed of the routine and then handed a Xmas Cracker each. The circular arrangement only added to a most enjoyable meal. Yes, the prices were probably increased, for the Festive Season, but the value of the 'eat as much as you like' system is certainly value for money. It's probably the best TCB I have visited and would recommend it to anyone who likes the 'buffet' system (and Chinese food) when in St.Helens

Firstly, putting price up and calling it a festive menu when only difference is a mince pie is a rip off. Over a year since my last visit and has gone downhill. Dishes watery and tasteless, food on grill cold, drinks expensive. Only saving grace was the duck and sesame prawns. Will give it a miss next time in the area.

Great restaurant nice food can get really busy around teatime but we enjoyed it will visit again. Food was nice and hot not like some all u can eat buffets 👍

16 quid per person is a rip off for a start can t get a drink on your card unless you spend £10 that's just horrible really outdated food belly pork was mostly fat and try put some sugar in your desserts really needs updating never coming here again

Not like your usual buffet nice food friendly staff. Quality of dishes was surprising and they regularly keep adding to the hot plate. The staff are also great with the kids and don't mind if the kids waste a little of they don't like something.

The food was far too salty. Some dishes were cold.The choices were limited from previous visits. The staff are friendly and attentive though. There is always seats available although get get busy moments but as it is an all you can eat it doesn't affect your choices and access to food.

I’ve been here several times. The food is pretty good once you’ve found it and good value for money. The desserts have never really been to my taste and sometimes it’s hard to get someone’s attention to order more drinks. The staff have always been friendly though.
